To all the viewers in England and the UK. I have lived in southern Ca (California) almost my entire life. The motto of In N Out is, "Thats what a burger is all about", not "the best hamburger in the world." Its a simple old fashioned American burger. The menu is very limited, hamburgers, fries, and drinks, that's it. They always use fresh ingredients and the beef is never frozen, and they are inexpensive. And most important, its a very good burger in the opinion of us Californians. InNOut was founded in 1948 in Baldwin Park in southern Ca by Harry Snyder and his wife. InNOut is still family owned and they have not sold out to any corporations. The grand daughter of Mr/Mrs. Snyder, is the present owner and she vows never to go corporate. So when you go to InNOut, you are patronizing a family owned business, not a corporate one like McDonald,s.
We in Ca love in and out burger, as you can see by the long line of cars and people at each restaurant. Can you get a better burger and fries in Ca? Yes, but it is going to cost you a lot more money. For example if you go to a Shake Shack and order the same meal that the gentleman in this video ordered, you will pay about $18.00, compared to the $10.00+ that he spent on this video.
Also the gentleman many have not know this but you can customize you burger a little bit. The gentleman could have ordered a 4x4 since he was complaining about the thin patties. A 4x4 contains 4 meat patties and 4 slices of cheese (you can order less slices of cheese too) for a minimal extra. The gentleman could have had the onions sautéed or regular onions and sautéed onions on his burger. He could have had replaced the thousand island spread that comes with a regular burglar and replaced it with ketchup and mustard, or just one. He could have had sliced yellow banana peppers on his burger.
Yes the fries are simple but the gentleman could have customized them too. He could have had thousand island spread and sautéed onions on them.
When Mr. Snyder founded InNOut, his goal was to provide a good fast burger without his customers having to leave the comfort of their vehicles. The only significant change to InNOut over the years is that they added a walk up windows for their customers if they do not wish to wait in their cars. If you ever come and visit the US, please remember this. Also if you ever visit the US, please go to a shooting range, rent a firearm, and do some target shooting. Get the real American experience.

Simple, honest food need not cost a fortune and you've finally found a place that'll do a meal for around $10.
It looked alright, I didn't think the burger was too thin and those fries looked a bit anaemic and not crispy.
Now this isn't meant to be gourmet cooking or gastropub cuisine so I'd give it a healthy 7.8 on the basis of value for money for the establishment.

I’m surprised you said it was like eating cardboard with the fries, cause potatoes are cut fresh to order. They don’t put any additives on their fries like McDonald’s that’s why I think more people like McDonald’s fries cause of that extra additive that makes them more desirable. But I just feel healthier eating in and out fries hehe. Yes the cheese in America is plastic for sure. We are Scottish living in America and we find that with the cheese too, we try to stay clear of the cheese. It’s just easier to melt at fast food restaurants since it is plastic hehe.

Wow! The truth is out. When I came here to live, everyone raved about In’n’out. It did taste fresh and it has a super ‘secret’ menu. I always have grilled onions, no added salt on the patties etc. Gradually I started to realise that the burgers are thin, the fries are dry and the shakes average. Here in Reno, the burgers are always greasy to pick up and, like yours, they drip grease and sauce when you eat them. Haven’t had one for five years - you confirmed why. 6.8 is fair.

  • @tajjywajjyonionbhajji6198

I was so impressed by your video on how to lay laminate flooring in under an hour. Oops wrong channel. Lol. Just kidding. Amazing video Lee. The burger looked good. The chips or fries looked a little tired. Maybe they needed a vacation. It's a shame that prices go up and some of the standards of the foods doesnt. Definitely agree with you some vloggers dress up the comments. I'm glad you are honest and true to your verdicts. If you stand for election you get my vote.

Well, my friend I’m disappointed you did not like in and out, that is basically old-school American style burgers, fresh never frozen beef, they are thin patties but they designed to be cooked quick. Any time I get into LA or Vegas In-N-Out is always the first place I go. Secondly, did you know that they cut the fries fresh right before they’re fried? I mean you might’ve gotten a bad batch but usually they’re really super good. I’m one of those people who loves McDonald’s fries as well. I mean to get a full meal for 10 bucks, I don’t know what they’re charging in the UK but that’s cheap over here, maybe I’m just used to it. Anyway, I disagree with you on this one my friend but still love your channel keep rocking it out✌️♥️

You missed a trick by not going animal style…it’s the only way to go at In N Out. Know what you mean about the patties but those thin style smashed ones are generally a bit better as you get the crispy caramelised beef with them. Suppose the closest thing to these in UK is Shake Shack which I find really nice but they are incredibly expensive.

Since so many are salt conscious for health reason you just get some of those easy open salt packets to add to your liking. Think there is a hamburger chain with "fat" in the title, maybe that would be more to your liking. Fatburger restaurants are a California based hamburger chain, might give them some research.

I've heard about in n out but seen little actual evidence until now, looks well run but food a little bland. Thanks for the vlog Lee 👍

On looks alone, 8.5 (fast-food rating, NOT a proper restaurant rating). Burger did LOOK very good. In terms of fast-food, very hard to beat McDonald's chips.
Overall rating, 7 - I liked the old 1950s burger 'joint' feel, but didn't appreciate the constant noise over the tannoy for orders. Seemed a little chaotic.
As always, thanks for the video. Particularly appreciated looking at some of the dedications out front the Chinese Theatre... entertaining.

I've been to In n Out San Diego and can confirm they're probably the best out of the main ones. I do like the Whopper however and Byron Burger (make sure it's served hot!) Also I've never tried Smash burger or shake shack?

Maclee where do I start? For once a burger that's fit for purpose.😎🍔. I liked the look of the place in and out? Sorry writing this the day after. My memory is a Wee bit fuzzy. Yep for me the burger was on my level. The chips. No, still need work keep looking. 👍

I'd give it a 7 because the onions are raw; prefer fried and caramelized onions. Fries looked okay.
Again Lee, that dodgy guy in dark sunglasses behind you. I wouldn't walk too far away from your camera
    Haha!

The fries are real potatoes, I agree they are almost tasteless. I ordered the single burger and it was all about the bun and veggies. The little Burger patty was pathetic 🧐

When Gordon Ramsey comes to L.A., supposedly his first stop is the In and Out Burger by LAX. I guess The MacMaster and Gordon don't agree on too many things.

Yes they are good. Prices dont break the wallet too. Only other chain as good as them is White Castle which is mostly in New York Ohio and Chicago.

The merch king!! I think your over doing the merch angle Mc!!😂.
Give me some of that LA sun. Glorious weather. Is it me or has Warren Beatty got small hands??!!
The “in and out” burger could be another one of your sexual innuendo gags. Martin would have a field day with that one!! They seem to follow you around. It’s interesting it’s “logo” is very McDonald’s in its colour scheme.
The fries looked decent. Not too skinny!!👌. You need to add the salt if they are too plain!! No sachets? Same with sauce. The bun looked fresh and I’ve seen worse burgers. That tannoy system would do my head in though!!
    I’d give it a solid 8.
    Next one please.x
