Searching for a complete pre 63 rear with small decklid. Samba or not. So than it is a: 23windows- walk through- doubledoor split witch is build at the same day when I was born. 13.10.1965. Dude, the T1 is the VW Beetle, the VW Bus is the T2. I would have thought that someone calling themselves Busdoc should know the diff. That said, good work. Iv just swapped out the old engine in my bug for a 1641 with twin carbs and Porsche air system and exhaust and I'm building a 3Ltr aircooled for my 66 Split Camper (not bad for a blonde) that and a few other mods and some nice I.C.E. If everyone owned a Vdub, the world would be a kinder place :-)
I once fitted a Rover V8 in a 74 VW bus not all that difficult plenty of room in the engine compartment. Bolted on the gearbox via a conversion plate customized engine mountings and exhaust went brilliantly.
seriously insane..pretty sure a t1 splitty was never designed to go that quick,regardless of handling and suspension mods done to it...but uber fkn cool!!! and yes you are still insane!
I LOVE VW MICRO-BUS' I vowed to never have sold mine but, had to, due to some bad stuff. I regret that move still, til this day. I dumped $8,000, into it, & the interior was still not there. Good times though. I painted it 2 x. I learned from some mistakes made but, what I know now, just assures me,that my next Bus will be perfect. A V8 is just too much for the unibody of a Bus.Roll bar frame would be needed.I'm a stick with VW or Porsche&, just race that ship out. Good sounding engine!
Cool sounding bus. Would have liked to see a longer video showing a cool running bus also :) Was the conversion difficult? These buses are my dream to own.
Theres a van like this with porsche engine doing a race circuit somewhere on youtube, handles quite well it seemed, better than beetle even, longer so better weight distribution on van maybe apart from height obviously but lowered with fat rims and excellent, dont know about mpg though!
the bus shell goes on a 911 quite easy... 911's are a very expencive beetle. if you have a good shell of a bus already, you can get a decent porshe with shit body for like 5-7k euros here

Always ALWAYS use a water cooled porshe engine because they are more durable. I recomend a turbocharged engine for more power.

I've never been brave enough to do a type2. If you get rear-ended, there goes your engine. If you rear-end someone, there goes your legs!
