From Bark to Bottle: Harvesting Cork in Portugal, Part Two

This is the second of three videos filmed by Schweiger's winemaker Andy while exploring the cork forests in Portugal. It is a traditional process of harvesting bark from cork trees. It's really an amazing process!

Very nice to see how cork harvesting is still done by hand and using just simple axe and sharp end of the handle. Is this the first harvest of those trees?

No those trees are quite big and have been harvested at least 4 or 5 times to give this amount and this quality of cork.
