    What I found works best for me is to apply as little concealer as possible, not the thick layers you always see on CZcams. because it may look good on video but in real life thick makeup is very noticeable. I put one drop of concealer under each eye and blend it out with my ring finger because it provides less pressure than inder or middle finger. Then set with skin-color powder as lightly as possible. If a thicker layer is needed in a particular spot like closer to the nose, add more there but don't do unnecessary thick layers of concealer under your entire eye. It looks much better if your undereye circles are showing through a thin concealer a bit than if you have a cakey creased mess under the eyes.

      But when u have huge awful under eye bags, you don't want to put as little as possible because it will look very very bad. I used to have the worst, they've gotten better since last week I had my tonsils and adenoids out, but they are still a little bad. Little product won't do it and it won't work. What about then?

    i think i'm just in that club where none of this baking magic works on me, no matter what i try it always creases and looks horrible :( :( i now have to just put a tiny dab of concealer under the inner corner and leave the rest bare, i wish i could cover my dark circles but it honestly looks better this way then when i put makeup on it and it accentuates my under eye lines (fml i'm only 24)

    • @elizabethc.z

    • @michellekelly2937
      @michellekelly2937 Před 8 lety +9

      +likeastarbaby That's exactly what I do!! I keep my concealer to the inner corner area only and don't take it all the way to the outside corner. The only way to avoid creasing into smile lines is to keep that area bare. It looks so much better this way. Too much concealer looks awful under the eyes, and it makes you look older!

    A great tip TO AVOID THE POWDERY LOOK: after setting under eyes/face with powder and after apply other final products (blush, contour, highlight) ALWAYS finish with a setting spray. IT COMPLETELY ELIMINATES THE DRY POWDERY LOOK, and just melts everything to look poreless and like porcelain. Also sets for long wear and no touch ups needed for the night.

    • @sassyfras4085
      @sassyfras4085 Před 9 lety +1

      Sorry for the delay. Mac fix+, Model in a bottle, almost all the lines have one, check with Sephora.
      However, I recently have been using Elf setting spray, it's only $3 and I think it works as well as Mac fix+. Nyx also has an inexpensive one that comes in either Matte or Dewy finish. I like the Elf one better, leaves a nice satin finish.

    • @sassyfras4085
      @sassyfras4085 Před 9 lety +2

      I just ordered a different one from Ben Nye, called Final Seal. I have not used it yet but it gets the highest ratings from Wayne Goss, Jessica89, lots of high end peeps too. It's only like 11 bucks for 2 oz, but says about 50 -75 uses, save for special times as it has alcohol. Smells minty I hear (yuk). But supposed to hold up even oily skin to sweat, highest heat, humidity, etc. Supposed to be THE BEST OF THE BUNCH as it is used by pro stage Broadway actors to hold up stage makeup against bright hot lights for Long hours. Surely our MOST STRESSFUL days can't be that bad, we hope, lol.
      ( Save the B.N. Final Seal for special, grueling days/events) and Try the Nyx or Elf for affordable daily wear, (I never go without a setting spray, after my final powder set.) Spray a few times, let dry, spray again. X pattern, then z pattern, include sides of face, eyes. This gives tone and cheeks extra coverage. I spray over my liner, mascara and lip, but if the spray to is too wet, the liner, mascara may run so go light there, 1 to 2 sprays is good for eyes.
      Loreal has a new one, good price, good reviews, I have not tried yet.
      Good luck, stay beautiful, but remember it's just makeup, not too serious, just have fun with it! :-)

    • @3cc3ntr1c1ty
      @3cc3ntr1c1ty Před 8 lety +10

      Okay, if you're sure ^^ 'cause it's just that it sounds like dry eye to me, (I have it myself, you see) and that can be caused by many things, from blocked Meibomian glands, strong winds, air conditioning, to just simply having larger eyes. Contact lenses can sometimes exacerbate it, too, as you've probably experienced. There's lots of over-the-counter eye drops you can choose from to help the stability of the tear film & reduce the symptoms, but since I don't know you in person or know your full situation, I don't want to make blind recommendations, haha. That's why I said you should see someone about it first (even if it's your local pharmacist - I know optometrists or general practitioners can be expensive in some places). If you decide to get eye drops, just make sure you get the ones suited for contact lenses =)

  • @AshTar1287
    @AshTar1287 Před 9 lety +19

    I only found creasing if i used too much concealer, I feel like that was the bigger issue. When i used what i actually needed and yes very quickly set it, I found that it not only looked more natural but the creasing stopped as I too have natural creasing in my under eye skin anyway. But the goal for me was if i did look up or take a selfie lol that it looked fresh at all times. So thats another option. I know a lot of gurus really pile it on sometimes so sometimes, esp with MAC a little goes a long way.

    • @xxgoodnevil17xx
      @xxgoodnevil17xx Před 9 lety +10

      I think that's the biggest issue. I used to apply pro longwear like I've seen everyone here do. But it ALWAYS looked crepey and creased. Then I started doing what lisa eldridge does where she swipes lightly and actually moves the product to wear it needs to go and even swipes some off and ADDS if she needs more. Now not only do I use way less product it never ceases and looks super natural! I also use the rt sponge to set it but I always did that and it didn't really do anything before. I really like Lisa's way of doing concealer.

I'm 18 and already have visible fine lines building up under my eyes :( also, I have very bad dark circles, so I have to pile on concealer, which makes it look so damn cakey. just to be on the even safer side, apply eye primer to the under eyes. the eye primer helps the eye shadow from creasing so it will do the same with concealer.

    I have wrinkly eyes, always have & for me the creasing was almost inevitable until I started blending it in with my fingers. I'll let it set for a bit & then before setting with a powder I take my finger and blend it a little bit more & I get no creasing at all.

      +Natasha Milan prob super fine loose powder would be the best (the tinier the pieces of each powder is the less likely it is going to clunk up in your fine lines & crease if that makes sense) like ultra fine loose powder...

    Nikkie, I'm one of those people that powder loves to hate. When I use powder under my eyes to set my concealer it suddenly looks very dry and cakey/flakey, I have used many different types of powder and concealer, used smaller amounts, I have even not added any more powder to the brush from the previous time I had used it to get the bare minimum of product on, but it still looks dry and very textured. If I don't add powder then it obviously creases, would going over the powder with a clean damp sponge fix this or can you recommend anything else ? At the moment I am using Mac MSF with prolongwear concealer. Help! x

    • @emilywang737
      @emilywang737 Před 9 lety

      The wet sponge should get it less dry looking since it gives it a bit moisture. But if that doesn't work try spritzing two pumps of a setting spray or even ur toner all over the face and dab it quickly with ur wet sponge under ur eyes. But that's after the powder step

    • @michellekelly2937
      @michellekelly2937 Před 9 lety +4

      I was having the exact same problem.....As soon as I'd apply powder, the concealer would look dry and cakey, which led me on a mission to find a solution! Firstly, you may want to dry a different concealer. The MAC Prolongwear did not work for me at all. I found it drying. The one that I'm really liking right now is Lancome's Effacernes concealer. However, if you're happy with the Prolongwear, I would strongly suggest trying a different powder to set your concealer. The two best ones that I discovered are Laura Mercier's Secret Brightening Powder and also the Nars Light Reflecting LOOSE Powder. Both work equally well. The Laura Mercier powder is more "brightening." I apply a tiny amount with a small brush, and I don't have anymore cakey/dry looking concealer! Changing my powder (I tried many) was what made all the difference! I thought all powders were basically the same, but I was wrong! Give these two a try! You can get samples at Sephora.

      Try using the Mac mineralize concealer works way better than the pro longwear under the eyes. Also try using a different technique. I was watching a lisa eldridge tutorial (not my first one) and it hit me that she always used swiping motions for the under eye (very delicately) and she actually takes a lot of product off as she swipes and adds where needed and taps it in if needs more coverage. Try watching one of her videos and doing that with the concealers you have. If that doesn't work try getting the Mac mineralize concealer. Between that concealer and Lisa's way of applying (and I set with the rt sponge) it looks SUPER NATURAL yet flawless and never looks dry/cakey/creases. Hope this helps!

      Purple ZEFR One more thing you may want to try is exfoliating your under eye area. I use Paula's Choice Resist Weekly Resurfacing Treatment 10% AHA. You an use this all over your face and also under your eyes (but not the eye lids). I use it a couple of times a month, and it really does make a difference. Another thing I do is gently rub my under eye area with the damp towel when I get out of the shower. This also helps to exfoliate any dead skin. It works great for the lips too!! I never used to exfoliate my under eyes because I thought it would be too harsh, but I haven't found this to be a problem, and it has really helped to smooth the skin. : )
