We totally loved this. When you said a thirty year anniversary, my husband and I gasp. December 1993, we took off work, carried our sons to see ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ to keep them busy the week prior to Christmas/Santa. What a great memory and a fun tutorial. ❤️🙏

Wow! It's been 30 yrs?? In this house, we are HUGE fans of Tim Burton, Johnny Depp, & Danny Elfman ~ that trio is sheer genius together... everytime! All 3 have such incredible talent by themselves... & together, their combined talents & creativity are "off the charts"!!! And, I think, under-appreciated.😌 Truly! For 30yrs, have bought all kinds of "Nightmare" stuff: toys, figurines, ornaments, snow globe, Tshirts & pretty much anything I could get ~ even have the book + the original version too, as Tim 1st wrote it. Just days ago, I found/got 'soft-body', musical🎶, H'ween decoration of Patchwork Sally stirring her "potion". (It's so cool!) Alas, I haven't found a Jack to go with it😒this time; there must be 1 tho?! ((Huh. Just realized the symbolism [to me] that there's no J&S this time, just Sally.😏 Strange to see her & for 1st time, no Jack with her. Ha!👻Fitting.)) Something about Jack & Sally & the movie itself really captured us both & 30yrs later, still just as enamored as ever with that very talented trio & their creative collaberations ~ all are greatness! But, for me (& 'he') "Nightmare Before Christmas" is 1 for the ages, generations to come ~ a classic, like "Wizard of Oz"! I saved this video to watch step-by-step & TRY to paint it... 1st serious attempt to see if I can paint. Bought paint, canvas & set of brushes months ago, but just been "pour painting" a bit. I have NO artistic talent ~ 4yr olds make fun of my drawings...that's pretty bad!🤭LOL But, I think tomorrow when husband goes to work, am gonna' give it a shot & try to paint Jack, step-by-step, with your very instructive video. Not sure I have same brush, but a stiff bristled paintbrush with straight edge is what's needed, right? (And a small round 1 too.) Do I need to prepare canvas, or just use it "bare", I wonder? Maybe use 'paint panel' instead, have an 8"x 8". What's worst that can happen?!? It's only paint & time that might be wasted...not the end of the world! "Sheesh!" 😁?

If my soon-to-be X-husband were a painting, I'd use oxide black & pthalo blue (maybe prussian blue) & paint right over him until he disappeared into the canvas!😉 What brush would I use for that? Need good coverage, large strokes... LOL (Thank you for helping me find the humor he sucks out of me.😜)
