- Alternatively titled "Calamari Hideaway", which is what I call it when I order appetizers with my friends at a pub and I don't want to share my delicious deep-fried snack. Ever since the release of Mario Kart 8s first booster pack, I've been addicted to the Ninja Hideaway song. I figured it was time for a remix, but very soon after I started I realized just how many similarities the song had to the theme of the Squid Sisters from Splatoon- Calamari Inkantation. And thus, this mashup was born! Enjoy, and stay fresh!
This remix was inspired by an email received from Arcane Knight! Shout-outs to them who had a similar idea to my own for this!

I can see many ninjas hopping from roof to roof! Painting the streets in a wild rainbow of colors. All so they could blend in and make their next strike. Shogun Koopa won't be pleased to hear this.

I don't think I have actually heard the Ninja Hideaway theme before, but this mashup is incredible!
Not very surprised at that. Ninja Hideaway debuted only a year ago in Mario Kart Tour, then was recently brought to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe in Wave 1 of the Booster Course Pass.
Ninja Hideaway is a pretty awesome track. I had hoped that it would return in a future Mario Kart title because it's one of the best tracks introduced in Tour, and I guess Nintendo agreed with the latter.

dj octavio origin theory: he used to be a test subject at kamabo co, but for one of the tests they gave him the kraken and one of the walls was weak. so, he busted through the wall and onto the train track. he went to the surface by tunneling with the kraken once he found somewhere that he could, and found the octo canyon. this would explain why he can’t be defeated, just kept in a snowglobe. the effects have worn off slightly over time, so he can be inked in kraken form, but not splatted

I've heard people mention the subtle similarities between Calimari Inkantation and Ninja Hideaway. Even my younger sister, who doesn't even know Calimari Inkantation, thought Ninja Hideaway felt Splatoon-ish. I definitely heard it as well.
So it's especially cool to see an actual mashup bringing the two songs together!
One of the saddest parts about not getting a new Mario Kart game is not getting very much new music. But with Mario Kart Tour, we at least get a handful of new songs, and those great ones like Ninja Hideaway really really stand out. Can't wait to hear the rest of the songs remixed in future waves of the Booster Course pass.
