I'm glad they didn't make this into a weapon that simply makes the last best weapon obsolete. I hope Jagex continues to add weapons and gear that serve specific purposes to add diversity to the game.

All high level weapons used to be like this, tiering ruined some of the appeal of gear in Runescape.
Remember Gmaul? D claws? AGS? We need to go back to this idea of weapon specialization. I want all T90+ gear to have a swap scenario

@@zexLlama Variety doesn't have to mean switchscape. Having specific weapons being best in slot for different bosses creates a lot of variety, rather than one weapon dominating across all bosses.

I hope you will also do a video on the blowpipe, I know it is not on the same level as the maul, but your weapon videos are really well made.
This thing gonna be even more busted with the Glaswords that are out now. Bleed assault, switch to the swords (damage from the bled assault boosts to t95 with the additional effect of the maul btw), destroy, switch back to maul and hurricane.

From what I understand because of ruby bak bolts and needle strike, he hunter bow is nowhere near as good as ascensions or the t92 crossbows

Kinda still is. The next boss will probs be defended against it or not range. Why invest money that isn't going to be a good investment? Unless of course you just merch 24/7 and have tons of throwaway max cash stacks to buy every BIS item.
Its still not consistent solo skips at rax, but if you bleed assault with maul, then switch to khopesh for destroy, 3/4 assault hits are boosted well beyond both t92 and maul camping (testing on dummy was ~8.5% more damage per hit over t92). This is the effect we guessed would happen if you bleed destroy and switch to maul
so in the math you did for tier calculation assumes you are always on zerker aura, which compounds with the damage of the weapon. It is only t97-98 damage if you are on zerker aura.
why should i get this 300m weapon when i can get a bronze 2h sword for 2k

I'm glad that they made it not work on so many creatures, actually. It keeps the ridiculously overpowered effect niche, which tbh should always be the case for a weapon obtained through slayer. Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.

you know if you even pick just one up your skulled and any level can attack you.
get a bait account and junk and pop one wisp on the account.
run to wildy and look for a target attack them and let them kill you.
finger cross they pick up the wisp and become skulled.

You should do a video on where the maul is better than the masterwork spear. I say that because I found out today that the spear is actually better at something like daggonoth kings.

@@dbow4life666 most of these things have been around for a few years but have been made more accessible/stronger. If you have any questions feel free to ask or add in game :p if you do play again. Typically 12k is the "normal max hit" but he's using a book that allows you to get the higher 15k damage cap.
Saying that dealing hit cap means loosing out on damage isn’t really accurate, that’s looking at it the wrong way. You’re loosing damage when there’s something you could do to get more damage. With hot cap, no matter what you can’t do more damage, so you’re not loosing out. However, you also shouldn’t be useing expensive gear like the sigil if you’re hitting hit cap anyways

Seems very niche, but within the niches it falls under it is ridiculous.
Honest question. if the melee version of hexhunter is essentially t97 vs ranged enemies, why is hexhunter only around t92 vs magical enemies?
The answer is it isn't. The calculations on the hexhunter that everyone shared were done incorrectly. At the same time, t97 without bak bolts isn't very different from t92 unfortunately.

i really want them to add a magic version of the hexhunter bow(range) and the terrasaur maul(melee)
What about weapon diversity when it is released? It will give the maul another +5 tiers of damage, but -5 tiers in accuracy. It will make this thing an absolute beast if you have 100% accuracy, but at things like rax, idk about the accuracy nerf. So long as you can get at least 98%+, it'll be even better, yeah?
What's crazy about the mail that no one is mentioning is that it reqs 80 STRENGTH ONLY! Any attack level for it
Boggles my mind that the maul works on the 2nd and 3rd ed2 bosses but hexhunter doesn't.
If it follows the same dmg calculation as the hextunter why is it not more popular, are bak bolts rally more than t97 dmg?

Jokes aside. I'm curious if you would say that this same logic could be applied to the Hexhunter Bow, in that it is the strongest Ranged weapon in the game because it has the same passive effect, and thus falls into the same parameters as the Terrasaur Maul?
EDIT: Never mind. Checked some of the comments. Lack of qualifying bosses/Bakriminel Bolts. Though I am curious if the Specials of Ruby-Hydrix (and inbetween) provide enough DPS to outweight the sustained DPS of the Hexhunter bow, if you were using say Ascensions (Since I did watch the video on the Elritch Crossbow, and that thing is a beast).
Ascensions with ruby bakriminels are around 4-5% stronger than hexhunter bow but only if you're over the threshold to cap the ruby proc, don't know about hydrix since they depend on your rotation rather than just adding raw damage
You should be brining zaros with it anyways so the needed to switch to an alternative melee weapon is lessended in that sense.
When you're hitting 15,000, is that equivalent to 150 in OSRS? I have no idea wtf I was looking at but it's intriguing.

Drygores are dirt cheap nowadays like 13m for a mace or rapier. Could also use gwd 2 weapons and upgrade from there. Get the cheaper t90s or good gear and work up

like i posted in many other related PVM videos since anachronia update they should have used the weapons they made and brought out in solomon store be actually be useble ingame not just some dumb override. since they are working on combat diversity it would have been a nice update.

Great video! The maul definitely has its place in the PvM meta, as said very niche. I think it'll probably float around the 700m-1b price mark, so around t92 price range.
It DEFINITELY wont be in t92 price range but I'm thinking it will sit around the price of noxious weaponry.

Why did the Maul attract so much attention but barely anyone cared about the Hexhunter? What is the difference?
Berserk ability basically, and the maul affects more bosses
this came out in a big update, hexhunter bow came with just one type of new slayer creatures an unnoticed update.
@@dewittejager It wasn't exactly unnoticed, when the Hex hunter came out there was a fair bit of hype about it, but it died down fairly fast as it wasn't as good as first though, it's still an expensive bow because it's still an insanely high dps bow, it just lacks what the higher tier bows have, and cbows (bolts (ruby + diamond) for cbows) and sgb spec, it's also not viable at most bosses with the effect it has, so nox bow is pretty much better anyway, for like 25m more, and at the time due to the rarity of the hexhunter it was like 500m so a lot of people just didn't bother

Okay so if you actually want to get into bossing then you need to think about the long term goals now. Start working on unlocking invention, overloads, supreme overloads, t90 weapon and armor.99 summ for steel titan, curses and get all your combat stats to 99. It's a long grind but if you're serious about getting into bossing and eventually high level bossing you will need all these things to massively improve your dps. In the end you will be making way more gp per hour once you're doing more dmg and getting consistent kills. Hope that helps.

I'm a little confused. On paper this seems worse then Nox Scythe even on range targets. Is it suppose to be or am I missing something? It just seems so powerful in the vid lol.
as someone who loves rax, i might get it. but personally i think the damage cap should be removed. if a player want to do something powerful, let them do something powerful. if you dont like how powerful that thing is, find a way to rebalance it
Hex hunter with dbane and slayer helm is still way better at ed2 as compared to the maul i presume?
if they make that work on solak itll hit max cash overnight. sense accuracy is all but irreverent at him anyway that amount of dps would do naughty things to him :D

I'm never going to get the taste of using t90+weaps or amour. They are just so expensive...My usual set up is range asc+sirenic because its fairly cheap compared to tectonic and seismics. And more melee I guess I could spend hours making masterwork but I'll only have my scythe and weak drygores >.>

Ascensions + Sirenic is a very good combo anyway. The Nox Scythe is all around still the best melee weapon in the game and drygores are still excellent too. The T92 armour and weapons are so expensive they are basically for mega rich end game players, they are a luxury not a necessity.

Do we get D'harock effect on all gear now by doing all combat at 2% LP?
This is basically a melee hexhunter bow (except its effective against ranged not magic)
It sounds very similar to the Hexhunter bow, but more difficult to get and 10 times more expensive as a result. What I don't understand why it works in places the bow doesn't and vice versa, they are both supposed to work on range enemies after all.
OK you say it is so good that it is almost like 'cheating' for places where it works, but as an all around weapon it kinda sucks capped at T80 everywhere else. Nox scythe for 10% - 15% of the price is more versatile. I'm all for niche weapons that work in high level pvm but 1bn GP a pop is too much, it needs to be way easier to obtain.
Hexhunter works on mage enemies which is why they work on different monsters.
The main reason this thing is unreal and hex is less viable is the lack of bakrim bolts on the hexhunter.

Idk what situation your talking about. But his dps comes from usually 1) the best gear w/ BEST perks. 2) max pots including the best overloads 3) t99 prayers and other boosts 4) this guy has been practicing combat a long time. He’s probably 4 ticking squeezing in an extra cast that you don’t notice, it just takes practice man :)

Hex hunter is terrible trust me
in my opinion is a situational weapon, as curent cost is not worth over scyte for a casual pvm who is on buget melee, the current worst thing right now is damage cap that affect the weapon ; for melee hurt so mouch, may be a game changer at solak p4 at least if they make it work, I don't know how is weapon diversity status but we must be patient

Ascensions are way better dps with bak bolts. You would only use nox over them if you want the extra distance that comes with nox. I traded my box for Ascensions ages ago. Hope that helped!
