Not just R.E.M.'s best song, but one of the best, ever.
    Pure genius.

Probably the best track to close out an album. Ever

@@douglusk1627 I always loved the B-side songs from many albums, but Automatic for the people has the best b-side tracks ever made.

Pura poesia...uno sguardo alla vita vissuta...alle cose che non possiamo portare con noi dopo la morte..

I just wish I knew what they meant. (Ginger, lemon, indigo, coriander stem and rose of hay)

@@johnny_pilot I think generally the song is about finding your own lane in life. The lines you mention are beautifully poetic and may or may not have some deeper meaning. With REM it's always about the vibe I get from a song that attracts.

@@JLaw954 Yes and no. It's about how, yes you can absolutely find your own path in life but you should acknowledge that we all end up in the same place. Find the river (your own path) but realize that all rivers lead to the same place, the ocean (old age, death)

I always thought the line refers to how you need to appreciate the good things along the way, like the fragrant indigo, coriander stem, vetiver and indigo. But that’s the beauty of this song and R.E.M., they let everyone interpret the song how it effects them personally
