Hi Stephan. Happy New Year to you! I’ve been with my husband for 26 years. Throughout our entire relationship I’ve struggled with trust issues. He’s cheated on me before and has always been a quote on quote a ladies man. I try to express the way I feel and the issues that bother me but he always tells me that’s my problem. It has nothing to do with him and it’s my own insecurities. I do have very weak moments when I accuse him of things he may not be doing but don’t think it’s right for him to it’s my problem or is it?
I could never express myself safely in my marriage. I always felt judged. My partner now appreciates that I express myself and appreciates my point of view. A healthy relationship is beautiful. Steph, the issue isn’t necessarily trusting a man to lead. It’s men who think that manhood means gender therefore we shall innately submit, when in most cases they don’t even even have direction or on the edge of cliff(aka hold me down).
A woman not submitting to a man is her intuition seeing something she can’t put a finger on, with time it shows.
I am speaking from experience watching how I myself react to different men and their “leadership”

Thank you for this video. I was starting to feel like I was the problem when I would be direct talk about things that I needed and get ignored. I feel really sad things aren’t working and I’m scared to move on however I can’t stay any longer without my needs being met. My boyfriend and I had amazing chemistry from day one. And everything Stephen said in this video, was true. Because I felt comfortable she safe with him, my feminity showed itself more and he embraced it. He became more protective and caring. As I submitted and allowed him to lead as a man. I meet the guy and we both felt the connection and yesterday he texted me and told me he was ready for a relationship and wish we good luck. I was crushed and realized that maybe it was for the best. Hopefully I handled it right. And talking about being judgemental towards others....the Bible even talks about judge not least you be judged....which means that if you judge someone a certain way, then you will be judged the same way. @stephanspeaks Okay, I love the content about submitting to my man. I have a man - six months in and we are fully committed. We talk about what marriage would look like, our wants, our needs, etc (even how much weight I could gain and still be attractive to him 😅) and I’ve said many times how I want to have the man (him) lead. However, that’s mostly be in the context of money. So, how aside from saying “I want a man whom I can submit to and who will lead us, can you show me that?” Is there another way to have this conversation with him? And/or is it too soon? At this stage, I am very much thinking he is a great fit to be a lifelong partner and he thinks the same about me. We’re still learning about each other and identifying where our issues may arise, but so far we’ve been respectful and the communication is unparalleled. So, I feel secure enough to broach the topic and maybe see how he can show me that he can lead. Or am I thinking about this all wrong? Neither of us are religious. We’re both faithful but not practicing.
A way I think maybe we can start this… I’m the primary breadwinner (about 2-3x his salary) and always will be (he works for the gov and makes good money, I just am very lucky). He has the long term financial strategy in place (owns multiple homes) and I make the cash lol. So I pay for a majority of the food for us willingly (he drives to me). But I know we spend more on food than he would like to. So maybe, even though I’m paying, would this be a good avenue to take his leadership in budget or something?
If you are making 2-3x more than him, absolutely DO NOT allow him to be a sole leader. Even if you were gonna be an SAHW, you should have as much leadership since your sacrifice in salary would still contribute greatly to the household.
It is now 2024 -- that shouldn't even be a consideration. It's equal partnerships & servant leadership or Bust.
And don't have him control YOUR money. That is how women get screwed. Tbh you should consider a pre-nup...
Ummmm yeah thanks. However I never said sole leadership. Stephan specifically speaks about submitting to each other and I would like a man who I can trust to be the leader when we are split in what we think is best. We are 100% in agreement on what partnership means to us and we’ve also discussed prenups. He has quite a bit in assets and I have almost nothing. While I may make cash, he definitely has far more to lose than I do at this point.
