There was actually an episode in Season 5 where Niles threw a fit about Max favoring Fran over him (while Fran was still the nanny, trying to get Max to propose), and Niles joined forces with CC to do some mean things to Fran. He made up with Fran, and I think kind of dropped CC. Hard to believe Fran would take him back as a friend.
But also, if he really "wanted" CC, it would make sense that he would want Max to be happy with someone else. He felt like a loser compared to Max, and wouldn't want to have to win a woman over who could have had Max.

Daniel Davis as Niles is an absolute killer with his devilery, but we can't forget how C.C. PERFECTLY sets them up. Lauren Lane is underappreciated in playing such an amazing comedic punching bag for what really is a comedic _Duo._ You gotta set it up and then sell the hit.

Niles was always the better of the two. Both were smart-alecks and worked crappy jobs, but at least Niles wasn't self-loathing.
Niles was funny, Geoffrey was a smart ass.
Niles flamed her ass every single time, like I got 2nd hand burns from just listening to all that. He was definitely my favourite besides Fran, he will always be in my heart.
I heard they wanted to lessen CC on the show but Fran, as well as a few others fought to keep her part of the main cast, it was definitely a smart move. Even after hearing his lines multiple lines they still crack me up.

This one is my top favorite you left out... CC: ...I'm being taken out tonight (on a date).

I always wondered why she always got picked up for dates at the Sheffield mansion.
But speaking of dates, in Season 4, she asks Niles to be her date when someone dumps her right before something formal...it doesn't seem like a desperate last-resort kind of thing, either. You'd have to see the scene, but she jumps to asking Niles way too quickly after being dumped. And they dance together, in private at the Sheffield house, after. And it's not even awkward or reluctant. If she just needed to be seen in public with someone to save face, they didn't need to do that.
Unfortunately I was too young to grow up with the Golden Girls, so The Nanny was my Golden Girls (worry not, I came to love Golden Girls too). #1 is the absolute best. Another good one:
"Where the devil is CeCe?"
"Well it is raining outside, perhaps she melted."
The "Here, hop on," at about :55 as Niles holds out a broom has the same implication: She's a witch, perhaps even THE witch of the west. I suspect that some of the women who are in the news today talking about gender roles would say that was complimentary in a twisted way, because it's (unfortunately) often used about women who advance in male-dominated fields - including one who almost became President of the United States. And CC did, in fact become a business partner to Max, and a producer who handled the money side. And she seems maybe amused, maybe annoyed by that remark, but not hurt. In fanfics where they are in a relationship, Niles always calls CC "my witch" in the sense of, "You've put a spell on me." But when they got together in Season 6, it was more like HE had a put a spell on HER.
This show is nothing like the Golden Girls. I don't understand the comparison. Fran and C.C. do not look like Golden girls. They both had babies when the show ended, so that should tell you something. This video has nothing to do with that show anway. This show was about a woman in the prime of her life who was ready to get married and have kids. The other woman as well as the men on the show had the same goals in mind. very weird comparison. Trying to compare these shows to one another makes as much sense as comparing a steak to a bowl of grapes.

Niles and CC were the reason that I watched this show! They were fantastic together!
They actually seem to be more alike in personality than Fran and Max are. And, eventually, you can see that Niles and CC have regard for things about each other beyond looks. Sometimes I feel like Fran and Max's attraction is purely physical and THEY really don't like each other a lot.
Niles was and still is the king of shade.

As an English man I was always impressed with Niles' accent. It was such a good idea to have Niles as a straight character rather than perhaps a stock gay character. His reaction to CC is typical of British humour. The number one choice here is also my favourite scene with CC, especially Niles' delicious expression as he ponders what to ask CC to do.
His actual accent nearly surfaced when he said "hobby", but yes, his RP impression is pretty remarkable.

He and Cece were the best couple on the show.
There are some references in the final few episodes, where they are together, about how great their sex life is...and some references to...adventurous...things they did...Fran and Max were obviously very attracted to each other but Max always remained a little...uptight, even when he had been married to Fran a while, and in some ways they didn't seem as compatible.
He does it so well!! And he is very expressive in his face movements!! I love him to bits!!

I was about to say, these are only the early episodes and only directed at CeCe. Some of the best shade he threw was actually at Fran and Maxwell.
Right? My favorite shade towards Max was when Niles threw a party while Max was gone! Max came home and Niles sucked up some helium from a balloon and said in a high and squeaky voice "What are you doing home?" XD That will forever be my all time favorite Niles moment! XD
