Thanks for doing the video! I definitely find it easier to detangle before shampooing and I wouldn't go back to doing it the other way. I detangle with a leave-in or detangler, but maybe I'll add an oil for the extra slip. Great tips!

I have wavy/curly hair, and I detangle twice. Dry with a Tangle Teezer on a Sunday morning right before my wash. Then I wash it (weekly wash), do my oil rinse, condition; then when it gets out the microfiber towel (30 min.) I detangle with a Wet brush just before I style with the LOC/LCO method. It works very well for me. I loved this video! :)
I loved the idea of TaylorAnne Takeovers! I think it's good for LoriAnne to get a break and recollect herself and I could just imagine the struggle she's going through. I would love to have a daughter such as yourself, wholesome, witty, intelligent, polite, and the list goes on and on... I too prefer to get the lumps and bumps out before shampooing. I do everything that you just did except I use the Kinky Curly Knot today instead of oil. Works extremely well for me. Don't have to use a lot so a bottle will last me a long time. I started letting my deep conditioner sit in my hair for at least 10 minutes before detangling and that made a huge difference for me.

We are about to go through a mini heat-wave here in Belgium. 33° tomorrow, 37° Wednesday and 39°C Thursday, that's over 100°F to give you an idea. Anything above 25° is considered a heat wave here. Not looking forward to it. I have a disability. I know exactly how your mom feels. Give her my best! :D

I usually use the water from the shower to help with the detangling. However this is a great suggestion which I will be trying thanks for sharing. Hope mom gets well really soon. I never thought I would try this but now seeing you do it, it just makes sense!!! Wash day is going to be so much more efficient with hair already detangled, then you are also checking off the prepoo box too.
I never understood why people would dc first and detangle with it THEN do wash day because I felt like it just waste the full effects of it all. This is brilliant. Lani gets frizz all the way up to her roots tho so idk but I’ll try small sections with our alikay oil!

I wash my hair in the sink, not the shower, but I do detangle before washing as well as daily if my hair isn't in twists. I use water and my fingers also, then a gentle rat-tail comb-through, moisturizing product, and twist (if I'm going to wash, them I skip the product and go strait to the sink). I really enjoyed your #TaylorAnneTakeover! Hoping Lori Anne is getting good rest in the heat ❤️

I love ❤️ my regular spray bottle much better than the 360 sprayer! And I detangle better with conditioner and water 💦! That’s what works best for my hair. I used oil to prepoo.
I detangle out of the shower with my deep conditioner but I'm going back to prepoo.
Aray Brown I have been for a while detangling with my deep conditioner out the shower and it works like a charm. Plus that the only time a put a tool to my hair.
I used to think doing a prepoo was just an extra step. When I finally did try it..I was like this is the best thing ever. Last week I was rushing so I skipped it for the first time in like six months..never again😩😩

You did good Taylor! And tbh, I don't even know what's "right" anymore. They say it's best to do it when your hair is wet with lots of conditioner, so your hair doesn't break off as much. But then what you say makes sense and is true, that when our hair is wet it's in our weakest state. And I have issues with detangling, right now I been doing the shower with conditioner. And it's good but still hard for me. Takes foreverrrr. So I'm gonna try this way, you made it look easy lol. I hope I get the same results. Love you guys ❤️💜❤️💜❤️
I've doing this for years. Especially in the cold seasons. It's called prepoo. I usually sit under the hooded dryer to let the oil penetrate even further.

I just got my Phillips Flex Brush. I can’t wait to test it out. I used to detangle my hair outside of the shower before shampoo but i got lazy because wash days would just be so long. So now i go in with shampoo then get a deep conditioner that i can detangle with. But i am going to go back to the other way to make sure i am not breaking off my hair. ➰

I was using a Denman brush under the shower, and I cringe at the thought of that now. I detangle just like you now, waay less breakage.

I always detangle prior to washing. I use a conditioner that I want to get rid of and water. I use only a little water if it isn't badly tangled.

I finger detangle a bit b4 washing and then detangle after conditioning/rinse. I would not dare detangle while in the shower ... that's disastrous for me.

I gave up that water bottle my hair never gets wet enough , plus I can't squeeze it too good with my arthritis so I bought plant spray bottle from Walgreens it's fat and small for $.99 it works much better .how is Doggie doing with the y is he drinking enough water.
I love a pre-poo! I use water and oil and/or butter. Game changer. I finger detangle after I pre-poo (or use a wide-tooth comb if I've really saturated it and need a lot of detangling), and then in the shower after I wash, I either use a conditioner or deep-conditioner and wide-tooth comb and/or tangle-teaser. My fave oils are almond and now 100% pure cocoa butter (from the health food store) rubbed between hands or heated into an oil. Smells divine, good for skin too, and gives curls so much shine! My fave discovery of 2019 so far is LOC with: L) CR Curl Love; O) almond oil; C) Cocoa butter! Hope Lori feels better. I’m going to try this tomorrow when I do my hair! Thank you for sharing this. I like to detangle my hair whenever there’s a moisturizing product in my hair whether in or out the shower.
