66 depressed by being alone because of covid. I been watching a lot of good videos. You relate with me the best. I'm poor living on 800 a month as. But if I could ever take a class with you I would try to save some money each week. You are so upbeat and very good at teaching your craft.

One of my favorite things you have done recently. I love poppies too. I just gave most of my gel prints to a local collage artist for her to use in her works. She was so excited, she had never done gel printing...now to make more...hehe

OH SHel congrats on the top 15. That is awesome. Not surprising at all either. When you do these paper piecing projects like this I just sit in amazement as I watch. I just love this look. It's my favorite of all things you do. The idea of drawing it so you can see from the back to cut out is brilliant. I can't draw a straight line with a ruler but I am sitting back thinking of the beautiful stamps I have that I could do this technique with. Now it makes me think of how I need to be more mindful in my gel printing process to make sure I get more of single shades of colors instead of a big mod podge of color like I do on so many of my pages. I need to have more floral colored pages. Now make sure you put my name on the back of that page for when I win it when you hit 10,000. I don't want you to forget which piece I wanted when the time comes. Cause I just know I am going to win one of the 10. (sure as hell hope so anyway)

Love your poppy design and really like the abstract look of collage before you cut it out even with the “fat”stems.....would like permission to use your design composition.......mraz
How do you keep your papers from bubbling up? I ended up using things like glue dots,and double sided tape. Even when really pressing down, all the mediums I have used to glue thinner papers down make it bubble up. Have just had to live with it. Any suggestions would be nice.
Because of bubbling issues I prefer to use a gel medium. My personal choice is Liquitex matte gel. I put the medium on the substrate as well as the back of the paper. Also, it helps to lightly spritz the back of the paper to soften the fibers before attaching. For really thin and fragile papers I like the napkin deco page from Decoart brand. It seems to flatten as it dries as if it has a shrinking agent or something. If it is a sturdy paper and a larger piece, I use the side of a plastic card to scrape along and press out bubbles. Hope these tips help.
Do you recommend framing a canvas like this or not?
It can be hung either way. The design goes around the edges so a frame is not absolutely needed... but if you like frames you can use it that way too. Thanks for watching :)

Thank you :) Yes, I use all sorts of painty papers as well as recycled or upcycled papers like bits of packaging or magazines. My most used papers are gel plate monoprint papers on thin stock like deli paper, rice paper, that sort of stuff.
Can you use parchment paper? Where do you get deli paper?
