Absolutely love this. Fantastic video of Brean. Well work visiting. No wonder lots of people own caravans here and one of the biggest places with the amount of caravan parks. They call it their Happy Place x
Thank you for your videos. I was born in the cottage hospital (probably gone now)in Burnham on 20 June 1957 (68 years ago to the day that I write this) and I was the first baby delivered by the then new doctor Michael Barry. I left Burnham in 1978 after many happy years. I suppose it has changed and grown a lot since those days but from the other videos I have seen it still seems a decent place for people with children to live. I especially miss the evenings of the equinox with the waves breaking over the esplanade and then spending a few pennies on the pier.
I miss going to Brean. We used to stay at pontins. I know people slag it off but we had great holidays there. Great video 😊👍
Yeah, people do slag it off but I moved here from Redditch and love it!
Thanks for this! I live in the US now but Summers in Brean are a cherished memory. We stayed at Southfield Farm from 76 to 84. I always remember Allen's Book Shop and Tony's Fish Bar as you first came into Brean. I was homesick today so this video was an absolute treat. All the best.
Thanks, I'm pleased you enjoyed the video. Been coming here since 1974 (ish) and now live in Berrow.
Loved it here as a kid! Entertainment was ace , uncle Richard and aunty Maureen lol always stayed at unity farm
Glad you enjoyed it
Great video 😀🇯🇲🇬🇧
Thanks!
Great video bro. I love going down that part of the country. I was there last week for a 7 night stay at Warren Farm
Thanks, I love taking the dog for a walk around Warren Farm!
@@walkingwithstephen It is a great place to visit
love this vid. its our happy place and hope to own a van one day. this helps when we are not able to visit as its a walk we do often
It's a lovely part of the world!
Excellent video. I've had holidays here since 1981 and i am going again in two weeks, but I never realised about the data cable from the USA!
Thanks, Neil. Have fun!
:)
I’m going there soon and also the Seagull is back open and Pontins is Temporarily closed due to refurbishment that will take 5 years
Thanks!
Where is Brean? Wales? (🇺🇲USA here😉)
Brean is a small vilage in Somerset, England. We can see Wales across the Bristol Channel.
@@walkingwithstephen thanks!
As you travel along the coast you have Burnham on sea, then Berrow and then Brean and then Weston Super Mere. Brean is well known for the hill like rock formation that blocks the beach and goes out into the sea. It has the remains of a Roman fort and also a second world war fort. When I lived near there (45 years ago) you could get your car onto the beach when the tide was out and drive about 10 miles up and down. Great for learners but not so good if you got stuck in the mud and the tide came in. On the side of the "Down" or hill was a huge wall of sand that we used to dig in and make caves.
At night you could also see the lights from Wales across the sea on the other side of the River Severn.
