⁴ᴷ⁶⁰ Work Train Diesel Locomotives being Transferred from Linden Yard to Westchester Yard

- Here we see several R156-type work train diesel locomotives being transferred from Linden Yard to Westchester Yard for maintenance. Interestingly, this move required usage of the "Linden Flyover", which connects the IRT New Lots Avenue Line to Linden Yard, which is only used for work trains and is not electrified. While moves on the "Linden Flyover" are relatively common, they tend to occur at night and do not usually occur in the middle of the day. Enjoy!

Throughout my life. I've FINALLY see them trains turns on to that single track that I be seeing while crossing that bridge from Livonia ave station
Same with me.
This is where I grew up. Brownsville, Brooklyn stand up!
The hardest part was putting them together in Linden Yard. They were indeed B/O. Once we linked them up, dragging them to Westchester with the republics was 1,2,3
You was working with them??
Well well well!!! Look who we have here. Lol @Alan Baum I could imagine what y’all went through putting that together
You guys drive these trains?
@@dodge1515 Yes
@brownhornet1975 No more no lunches brown hornet 😁
Conductor: We’re being held up by work train traffic ahead of us.
Yep
7:50 Beautiful shot of the work and passenger trains passing each other over the bridge. 👌🏽
Fantastic footage! This has to be one of your greatest videos on the channel! The consist was great, the zoom in was great, the angles were great, bravo!
I have a view of these work trains making their turns outside my house.
Nice one!! Right at Junius street. Those 156’s were probably B/O
what's B/O?

wow I wish I was there at Sutter Ave, I would catch that, Well good job DJ hammers
Back during the Mad Men era when I was a boy, this yard didn't exist yet, and the elevated stations still had their original vintage 1920 wooden platforms and iron fencing. I am a New Yorker who grew up there.
Respect for making from East NY to Bowling Green and South Bronc in time for these shots
What a very interesting movement. Thanks for sharing it. James.
Great Video!
I’m so used to seeing the locomotives when moving either subway cars or in this case the work locomotives. Where the in the lead there is one diesel then EX Redbird, then another diesel, then comes the rest of the consist. Could anyone clear this confusion of why they do this in this specific order, is it something about the extra crews or A/C?
Now they have to have their headquarters around third rail
I live in there in My Home station I saw work trains going entering and leaving the station I saw her in the night and sometimes in the day
Nice work.
Great video - what paint is that and where will they go? Do you know what the abandoned building is that is seen at 8:27?
Interesting move😀😀
Wonderful video!
Why do I keep seeing you
@@wxairy I comment a lot lol.
lmao it looks funny how diesels are transferring.
It’s called a diesel transfer. Not really set up as a “Work train”
@@brownhornet1975 ight thanks for the info, appreciate it.

The thumbnail got me for a second just looked like it was gonna crash
I never understood-are these Diesel engines only or do they switch to 3rd rail power when underground?
They are fully diesel-powered they are not like the trains on the LIRR.
I believe this also connects with the rest of US rail network
they don't even have their badges yet!!
wait is this…a regular diesel train being transferred through the new your subway network? these train look very short
Where exactly did this go
Down at? I'm not familiar with the color scheme,
Hello
Not suppose to transfer a Locomotive with the nose out
those are the worst trains ordered by RTO ever no power throws off so many fumes sad way to spend money 😢
