Toys are a new mechanic that were recently added to the Super Auto Pets test server that resemble positive hard mode modifiers. Toys have both multiple different tiers and levels, and so there are a ton of possible variations of them!
They last for two turns and can either temporarily help during combat while active (giving one or more pets different equipment e.t.c.), or give a permanent bonus once it breaks (permanent stats for example).
In this run, I mainly used 3 new pets that all have synergy with toys!
Mosasaurus - Gives adjacent pets +3/3 (➜ 6/6 ➜ 9/9 on level up) whenever a toy breaks
Puma - Repeats toy ability as level 1(➜ 2 ➜ 3 on level up)
Mongoose - Choose one level 1(➜ 2 ➜ 3 on level up) toy from tier 6
Using these it was possible to get CRAZY stats from higher level + tier toys, for example the tier 6 Television normally gives +2/2 to all pets when it brakes (10/10 total), but by leveling it up and having multiple pumas to repeat the trigger, it was possible for me to get 10/10 EACH
Overall, I think toys are a very cool new mechanic and I'm happy that there are some new pets to enable it as a build on its own, but let me know what you guys think!

📌 About this game
Super Auto Pets is a cute, animal themed auto-battler. The core of the gameplay involves trying to improve your team by buying animals with different abilities and giving them items, then at the end of each turn your team is matched against another random one and the fight plays out by itself. If you lose a fight, you lose some health, and if you win, you get a trophy. If you get 10 trophies you win the game!

I'm a big fan of the new owl. it's a swan and a giraffe at the cost of an empty slot, and it synergizes with Friend Summoned, Friend Sold, and food abilities. Truly a jack of all trades. Somebody please rewrite this entire comment with as many owl puns as possible.

But you have to have an empty slot so you have a lot of less health and damage, almost impossible to get a win if you use an owl

playing in the test server is fun because you're guaranteed a cameo in every single SAP youtuber's videos xD
Is the owl not just a better llama as you not only get a 1,1 in stats for an empty space but you also get an extra 1 gold and you can choose who the 1,1 goes to

All in the same pet.
I personally think Jerboa is dominating solely because owl is as strong as it is. I think it should spend 1g/level to summon the mouse just like catfish
it should be at least a tier 4 pet, it makes no sense being the same tier as giraffe

also, yeah puma is bugged to not go off multiple times with multiple pumas. they don't stack for some reason

If this were me, you would've gotten a shrimp or blowfish hedgehog team every other round. I feel like my luck on the test server has been abysmal
This was only recorded a couple of days after the test server launched, I've also been running into an unreasonable amount of shrimp teams recently 😔
I'm excited for how untapped the potential for toys is.

Why does the test server lag out so hard on my pc? Is it chrome? Thi gameplay looks normal but my computer is pretty strong and for some reason the test server just constantly is running at 1/4 speed
Vhrome was very laggy for me too. I use Firefox now which runs the test server smoothly. Hope it helps 🙌🏼

This might seem a bit off topic, but I've came up with some ideas for future pets for the game! Here are some of them:
Dung Beetle - 2 / 1 - Tier 1
Level 1: Sell --> Discount the right-most shop food by 1 gold.
Level 2: Sell --> Discount the right-most shop food by 2 gold.
Level 3: Sell --> Discount the right most shop food by 3 gold.
Canary - 3 / 4 - Tier 2
Level 1: Hurt --> Steal 2 trumpets from the opponent.
Level 2: Hurt --> Steal 4 trumpets from the opponent.
Level 3: Hurt --> Steal 6 trumpets from the opponent.
Dingo - 2 / 2 - Tier 3
Level 1: Start of battle --> Swap attack and health with the opposite enemy.
Level 2: Start of battle --> Swap attack and health with the opposite enemy, then gain +2 attack +2 health.
Level 3: Start of battle --> Swap attack and health with the opposite enemy, then gain +4 attack +4 health.
Snowy Owl - 1 / 1 - Tier 4
Level 1: Friend faints --> Gain +1 gold on next turn.
Level 2: Friend faints --> Gain +2 gold on next turn.
Level 3: Friend faints --> Gain +3 gold on next turn.
Afghan Hound - 4 / 6 - Tier 5
Level 1: Friendly level up --> Gain +3 attack and +3 health.
Level 2: Friendly level up --> Gain +6 attack and +6 health.
Level 3: Friendly level up --> Gain +9 attack and +9 health.
Ocelot - 7 / 3 - Tier 6
Level 1: Faint --> Summon 1 random tier 4 or higher pet.
Level 2: Faint --> Summon 2 random tier 4 or higher pets.
Level 3: Faint --> Summon 3 random tier 4 or higher pets.
wouldnt have the new tabby cat been pretty good in this build as it guarantees the toys break sooner and you could keep scaling each turn, opposed to doing so every other one

Wait, they changed the beaver from health to attack and the otter from both to just health? Why not just change the otter to just attack?
Because then it'd just be a worse African penguin and Teamwood said they wanted every pet to have a unique ability (even if it's a really bad ability like with the new otter)
does anyone else wish they can play on the old versions? like don't get me wrong, I love the new stuff so much, but seeing all the nerfs makes me realise how overpowered some builds used to be. I want to use old penguin one more time :(

Im disliking using a false thumbnail. What does the tv had to do in your gameplay with +50/50. And not one of you pets had 50/50 at the end.
I think it's the sum of buffs for each of the pets per TV. So 5 x +10/10 = +50/50. So the point is that each TV gave the team +50/50 or they would if the double puma wasn't bugged.
The TV gives +40/40 and with the mosasaurus it's actually +52/52 stats in total. It's just spread across the 5 pets on the team not all on one pet.
I didn't notice that the second puma hadn't worked at the time to be fair, but it was the cleanest way for me to show the stats that it gave with them (It wasn't like I could neatly put up a breakdown of how all 5 pets got +2/2 and +4/4 twice in one turn)
I get why some people don't like it, but I had no idea what else I could have done for this to be honest
