Thank you ❤️🙏
I agree with this guy, quick question. Does this conversion thing work on hayabusa levers too? I was thinking i was gonna buy a hori alpha and mod it with a korean stick but idk if the conversion cable works on hayabusa levers, do you know?@@JoystickNY
Over the years, I've looked back at this video every time I needed to install or switch out a K-lever from my fightsticks including today lol, thank you so much for such a thorough and clear demonstration!
Just bought an omni etokki with a Japanese lever and plan to switch it out with a Korean level this video is a god send.
Happy to help

Thank you so much 🙏 happy to help ❤️
I'm not even looking to upgrade and only have 1 cabinet in my life and I still watch his videos.
Bro idk what it is about your videos, but they're really calming. Like the Bob Ross of arcade sticks lol
This is the definitive guide for beginners who are installing a Korean lever. Thank you!
Thank you
The lengths u go to making ur videos easy to understand is so good
I just upgraded my fightstick with an IST korean lever. Thanks to this video the installation was a breeze. I want to try this Crown ones now. Great work JoystickNY.
Yay 👍i am so happy to hear it was able to help 🙏❤️ thank you
The cool thing about this video is that you can also extrapolate this information to build your hitbox as well. This video was a great help, thanks man.
Thank you 🙏❤️ i still have to try the hitbox in the future, i am waiting for a sale 😉
Very useful tutorial...
I had no idea about how korean levers worked...
Nice video! :)
ArtySh00t thank you for watching ❤️🙏
The label on the switches is such a smart idea. Def stealing this for my next stick arrives.
Appreciate you
Dude thank you so much, I was going crazy not realizing each color had its own intended directional input.
This video was extremely helpful, thank you! I bought a Taeyoung Fanta standard collar and put it on my hori rap 4. I also got the arcade shock replacement panel for it so I would be able to fit the lever and the thing looks beautiful now. Thanks again for the video, it helped a ton!
I am happy to hear the videos helps, thank you for watching 🙏❤️
I don't know what I would've done without this video. THANK YOU
I am happy it helped 😊🕹🙏
I don't normally write comments on a video. Read it or not, just wanted to let you know this video was very helpful and I love your content :D!
Thank you, if you check all my videos, i reply to everyone ❤️🙏🕹
Thanks super helpful as I’m building a Korean fight stick for Tekken8.
It's cool that we live in a time when you can buy these pre-made. I was already warming up my soldering iron, but it looks like you're not gonna need it!
I agree, technology making every industry easier❤️🙏
Best Lever video on youtube, Dude you need to do more korean levers lol, Your attention to detail and crisp video quality made me actually not skip half the video haha i watched from beginning to end. Got a sub from me... And please do more lever videos i have a Venom stick (Old i know) and i'm wanting to buy a korean lever so this was more to add to the information i've gathered. cheers
thank you so much, i will go more in to korean levers later on after i finish the japanese parts. btw, youtube didn't notify this comment to my email, i usually go thru each video and see what i miss and i found this 🙏❤️
thank you SO much. Just got my Taeyoung Fanta. Needed help with figuring out the wires and switches. Super excited for **SOME TEKKEN**
Happy to help 🙏❤️

Finally, the video I've want to see. This video is very detailed and helpful!!! Thank you so much
Thank you, i am happy to hear it helps ❤️🙏
I want to mod my Rap with a korean lever just like this. Now I just need to find a korean lever to buy in europe.
Thanks for the video.
Crown 309MJ it's a nice starting point korean lever, there it's also a good alternative, the IST Alpha 49s (it's like the knee lever without knee branding and high price) that uses omron switches and has nice diagonals
Thank you, i have the knee lever, your right, basically the alpha series 👍
The 309 mj was my first k lever, now i use the low collar Taeyoung fanta.
MUTO thank you for sharing ❤️🙏
Very helpful video, I appreciate that you went nice and slow. Only thing is I wish you’d shown an example of cable management at the end
Great suggestion, thank you 😊🙏❤️
I'm greatful, just what I was looking for. I have a Hori RAP 4 and since it's the first stick I've ever had I wanted to try out how a Korean lever feels.
Maybe down the line I'll also try replacing other parts.
Cheers.
Thats great, no need to buy another one, just try diff parts 👍🕹
so helpful, thank you so much! made installing my new helpme lever a LOT easier!
Happy to help 😊🕹❤️
Thanks for making this vid. Gonna look this up again when I install my 309fj
Darwin Alcazar thank you as always ❤️🙏
installed my 309 last night, and this was a great help. Thanks!
Happy to hear it helped ❤️🙏
I installed one of these in my TES+ I love it while playing tekken especially
High Tier King yes, me too, its definitely better for tekken ❤️🙏
For some Reason... Orange was down and Red was up for mine.
I got it working, so It's all good!
Thanks!
Maybe ur stick is at a diff angle, depending on my camera angle
Just changed the buttons and added a bat top to my venom stick. Couldn't decide on semitsu or sanwa but thought I'd prefer semitsu going off your last video. I was right 😁 Much nicer than sanwa imo. Thanks for your videos and information bro it's helped me so much 💪🏻
Jason Lant glad it was able to help 👍 enjoy brother 🕹
Video quality 👍 audio quality 👍 I like how you lower the volume of the music so we can hear you better.
QuanGissle thank you❤️🙏 only for the intro and outro, no music for the middle, i learn not to mix music in the middle, because my speaking is not very good, i didnt want to add more noise incase people have a hard time listen, and usually i notice when i watch other people’ video for learning, i prefer no music, for relax and entertainment videos, i think music is okay, when learning, i prefer no music ❤️🙏
JoyStickNY I have a madzcat street fighter te fightstick for ps3, can I update it to make it work for pc and ps4? Or just get a new stick?
QuanGissle cant update stick it self, but some games supports legacy controller, for example sf5, under controller setting, there is support for older controller, u can connect there and use the ps3 stick, but alot some features are still limited, i think you still need your ps4 controller to navigate in other menus , i am not sure if every games has that option 🎮
This video is so detailed and useful, thank you very much
Thank you for watching ❤️🙏
Just bought a Korean lever to put in my Razer Panthera Evo, this helped so much!
I am happy to hear it helped 😊🙏❤️ happy gaming
You man I wanted to ask how was it ? I know Panthera Evo is harder to access right ?
Yup, Alittle bit more work to get inside
Thank you so much for this video. I might try it out ^^!!
Thank you for watching 🙏❤️ happy to help
Best guide there is 🙌🏼
Kyle Andrew Tong thank you brother ❤️🙏
Bought the MJ-309 and tried the 45 first.. the feeling was like having a 4 pound spring, but changed to 35 and now its the perfect "weight" and it feels like a 2.5 pound spring (if it was a thing)
Same here, i use the 35 too 🕹👍 on my sanwa i use the default spring
Will be installing a 309 newhelpme in my rap4 Kai soon. This was very helpful. Ty.
Thank you for watching
Another excellent video, thanks again for all your help
Cesar García glad the videos help ❤️🙏
Just got my Korean lever and I'm excited to mod my stick! Thanks for tutorial!
Thank you for watching alex ❤️🙏
Thanks for the tutorial. I'm going to install my 309 today!
Jer enjoy my friend 🙏❤️
Thanks once again for this great and simple tutorial
This was an extremely helpful video, the Korean stick I came with didn’t have the adapter so I was very confused as to how I connected it.
Happy to help
Korean levers are interesting because there is no need for restrictor gates. Try out your Korean lever on ALL fighting games.
Thank you for watching ❤️🙏
Love the music you use in the intro/outro.
Sorry for the late reply, youtube never sent me a notification on this, 🙏❤️ thank you
Thank you very much for the video it helped me a lot to renew my arcede stick
I am happy to hear the videos helps, thank you for watching 🙏❤️
thanks for the video helped me do the wiring when installing a crown lever on my razer panthera evo ; had to cut some plastic out (basically the back wall of the cable compartment which renders it useless )
Thank you for the great info 🙏❤️
Great video helped me a ton!
Thank you 🙏❤️
This is a godlike video dude, super helpful. Thanks!!!
Thank you so much
The colour wires don't always correspond to the correct direction, just make you have the up wire to the up switch and so on. Don't use the chart in the video as gospel. It is based on how the wire comes out of the PCB control board. The only wire that is correct in the video is the ground wire.
Appreciate the info
Thank you very much for this video. This is the most detailed video I've ever seen. 👏🏻👏🏻🙏🏻 By the way, where can I get this joystick and cable?
U can get it from focus attack, arcade shock, paradise arcade websites 🕹
@@JoystickNY Thank you so much 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Man your videos have gotten me through the anxiety of transitioning from pad to stick. Thanks to your videos not only have I made the transition but I was able to modify my stick myself. I was wondering have you considered doing a video to add an audio jack to a fight stick cabinet? I been thinking of using the audio jack parts from an old PS4 controller. Thoughts??
Interesting thought, i havent gotten to try that yet, i am not sure, if i was to do it, i think it would be the original way off a regular pcb and buying the audio part that fits ❤️🙏
Hello! Thank you very much for the guide! Any advice you can give on how to disconnect the wires? It feels impossibly hard to
Thanks for the tutorial, I just bought the 309MJ and conversion harness
Thank you for dropping by 🙏❤️
so how is the 309mj is it good for tekken?
Its great for tekken, soul calibur and doa
thank you, made swapping my hori for a sanjuks a breeze, subbed
Thank you, happy to help
Nice
Faraz Fighter thank you ❤️🙏
Thanks for this coming from the Philippines :)
Thank you so much 🙏❤️
Just recently found your vids. Great work!
Thank you for the support 🙏❤️
The Korean Lever is just like the old model of Sansa,Micro Switch with metal guide
♥️
Great video! Thank you! 🙏
Any chance you can make how to install a korean lever on the hori ps4 129a it seems like its not like the other japanese stick out there
Sorry friend, i dont have that stick. That is a new stick, i think is only release in japan, the import ones right now are quite expensive the last time i checked. It looks pretty flat, i have a feeling that it wont fit a korean lever
awesome video. One thing I struggle with is when I need to remove the .187 adapter harness cables from the korean lever, those wires seems to get stuck and it's hard to remove without damaging the wire. Not sure if you have any tips on this
I try to use little pliers and stuff, using bare hand is sometimes hard
i struggled with this too, but I found a video where they used a small flathead to push the connector away from the switches: czcams.com/video/SQEgNFfuBHY/video.html.
American traditional sticks have the same microswitch system. I think the Korean sticks took some inspiration from Happ.
For sure, i grew up using happ. Classic 🙏❤️
nice job, thank you very much, this help me a lot!.
Thank you for watching 🙏❤️
Simple principles of wiring the directions of any Joystick, Every direction is pointing at the Center of the Shaft is that simple,No need to mark it
Thank you for sharing
Thinkin about getting that golden lever
Thats pretty expensive , but i heard good things
Fun fact "if you play the video backwards and you will have a tutorial of installing Japanese stick back to where it was". 😄
ffs
i shouldve watched your vid while i was wiring my first Korean lever XD
good shit as usual JSNY
Thank you man
Noice as always
Sky Aguilera thank you ❤️🙏
Great video, good job man!
Thank you 🙏❤️
Thank you
Thank you
Nice vid, thank you very much❤️
Thank you
Kinda tempted to buy a Korean lever but I'm afraid I would be unable to play on arcades because of that.
izayoi9300 i think using japanese lever is good enough, you have a korean lever for tekken, but i think most games, i prefer japanese levers because most games are 2d and circular motion
Korean levers are good for 3D games, if you still wanted to use a Japanese stick but want to try the Korean feel you could use the otto v2 kit
net x thank you for sharing 👍
The Korean lever you're using here looks very similar to Seimitsu sticks since it also has a metal plate that pushes the button instead of the actuator. Very interesting. Do Korean levers have an advantage or preference to certain games over Japanese sticks likes Sanwa and Seimitsu? I'm not planning on getting one, I'm just genuinely curious since a lot of people seem to want this kind of stick.
Great question, the way that Koreans sticks are designed, they are better for games with heavy directional inputs, such as tekken, soul calibur, dead or alive type games, korean uses a rubber inside instead of the traditional spring, it somehow works really well for those games, where as spring levers seems to work better for circular input games like quarter circle, half circle fireball shoryuken type games, i will go in to korean parts in the future 🙏❤️
IST silicone grommet what is it for ?,
Ivan Hernandez Sedano its basically the spring for a lever, when u move ur joystick lever to the left, on a japanese lever, the spring brings it back to neutral, on a Korean lever, the rubber grommet brings the lever back to neutral like a rubber band 🕹👍
Hello! Which korean lever is better: 309MJ, Benylis or Crazy Dongpal? idk their differences. Thanks.
I would start with the 309 mj; i only have that one and the knee lever; i would recommend do a search and read some articles on the other ones ❤️🙏
I want to put my crown 309MJ into my Panthera Evo, but someone told me that it wont natively fit and will require me to cut some plastic inside the stick, if possible, could you help me?
GhostyyyHD yes, i believe that is correct, you will have to cut some plastic wall inside and some plastic on the bottom,
I believe i tried it for a viewer on a seimitsu stick and it didnt fit, and the korean lever is a bit bigger too, so possible to cut some stuff inside. But it should be a pretty easy task 👍🕹
JoyStickNY ok thanks, appreciate it alot, keep up the vids!
I thought it might feel like a seimitsu lever cause of the similar switch layout but when you were testing it it looked kinda loose. Is it?
Obese-Juan Kenobi it feels very different because of the rubber inside to bring the stick back to neutral, i would say its better for tekken for sure ❤️🙏
Man I have no need to watch this, but it was such a good video I did anyhow, lol!
Thank you so much for the love and support 🙏❤️ i will continue to do my best in my ability on every video
Thank you for your work and knowledge you share. Do you know of any universal arcade stick?
ati22zx thank you ❤️🙏 the mayflash f300 is a good value universal stick at around 50$
J, I have a question. when I play my own arcade stick, I always shake it very hard so it always shaking around, and this will absolutely effect my performance. I want to make it still and firm when I play but I don't want to make screw on the button to my desk. Can you give me a suggestion for this case please? or tell me how people usually still the arcade stick? Thanks
What stick do you have?
@@JoystickNY I lost my old stick so I don't have any now. After watch your review video I about to buy the 8bitdo stick. so.. for this 8bitdo, how to still it?
The stick is pretty heavy, it doesnt move on the desk for me
@@JoystickNY I bought the 8bitdo stick on Amazon and it should be arrived today or tomorrow. one more question, I like the game kOF 98 very much. I want to play it online with another, and I only have MacBook and imac, and I am a Android user for mobile phone. so, where can I play that game online on mac system or Android?
I know the game is on fightcade, check if mac supports it. I have it for windows:
If anything you might need to bootcamp a windows install on your mac
My sanjuk v7 doesnt work with both my arcade sticks, does it have something to do with same conversion cable i used for my old lever and maybe you need special one ?
Edit: I guess i need Conversion cable Sanwa JLF-H to JST-XH on top of the adapter cable right ? (didn't need it for old korean lever)
Do they ground so people don't get zapped by electro static charge ?
Tripcore the color wires are the signal wires direction). The black wire (ground) i think its there to regulate and prevent other sources of electricity that interrupts the connection, cuz humans also conduct electricity, so that we dont become part of the conduction.
JoyStickNY Thank you
When you drop the actuator in, does the big end go at the bottom, or the small end?
This tutorial is valid also for Golden Lever parts?
Yup, it has the same connection 👍🕹
First 🔥 (Notification Squad where y’all at?)
Lewis Lower you are fast 😂 faster the the youtube view counter ❤️🙏
LowOnHP thank you brother ❤️🙏
Good video 👍 . Is it easier to do 360 and have circle motion on Korean levers than japanese levers ?
Talal Alosmani i feel a 360 is easier on a Japanese stick, i feel the rubber inside the korean lever wants me to go back to neutral more than going around, its definitely better for tekken tho ❤️🙏
¡Amazing! Thank you so much 😊
Thank you for watching 😊
I like that little screen where did you get that at or what is the brand or model?
Chris Gonzales its call the andycine A6, from amazon, but i dont recommend it for gaming, there is a delay, its meant for a DSLR external monitor 🙏❤️
@@JoystickNY Okay thank you are you willing to play street fighter v? Let me know my name is musashi47 for playstion.
Chris Gonzales i ll let you know when i get on, i havent been on sfv recently, been play gran blue fantasy 🙏❤️
How do you lubricator a Korean lever. Where does the lube go
Great video once again my friend. How are you liking the Korean lever so far? I was thinking about going with an octagonal gate lately for my sanwa jlf.
The Unkempt Vaper its feels definitely better for tekken, try it out let me know 👍
Crown vs Sanwa which is better???🤔🤔🤔
For me, crown for tekken, sanwa for street fighter.
Crown for directional games
Sanwa for circular motion games
Thanks jdcr 😇
what's best entry level fighting stick that can fit any korean lever?
DO YOU HAVE TO REMOVE THE WIRES BEFORE CHANGING THE GROMMET ?
Dam; off the top of my head, i don think so, if its not in the way
@@JoystickNY can you review another Korean lever ? Like ist alpha n . Or 49s .i hear they good for 2 d games with the lower tension grommet .
I bought a sanwa with cherry switches but the switches have 3 prongs on all 4 switches and I have no idea how to wire it up do I just ignore the the third prongs and just buy the wires your using . I now have a sanwa ytp ducked taped in becouse the screws don't line up with the mayflash f500 . I'm not having very good luck .
I have never seen a 3 prong cherry switch, unless you included the plastic middle one, link me to the page if you have
Sooo my F500 came with screws that were already messed up, I tried to change the square gate and noticed it. What can I do?
Try to use a diff size screw, if that doesnt work, see if you can grab a hold of it with a plier, if that doesnt work, the last option is to drill it off, or return it and buy a diff one. You may have to use a tool to sand off the screw to make 2 flat side, to make it more edgy, because its hard to hold it with a plier if its round,
Hey I was wondering if you’re ever gonna review the Mayflash f500 elite I heard those have sanwa buttons because I want a FightStick for my switch but I’m stuck between Hori rap v or mayflash f500 elite
Elian Escobar i would recommend just getting the mayflash f300 elite, its cheaper and it has sanwa buttons too, you can go for the f500 elite only if you want a bigger size. But mayflash would be better over the rapv, as its multi platform 🙏🕹❤️👍
JoyStickNY Thanks I’ve been a pad player for a year now and a FightStick has been on my mind for weeks now I thought I’ll give it a shot.
Elian Escobar go for it, explore more options, maybe you might be better in sticks 👍🕹🙏
