  • This video is a first amendment audit of the FEMA region X center in Bothell WA originally filmed on October 10th 2019. The guard who contacted me seemed friendly enough but claimed to know nothing about the site he was supposed to guard. As he approached me he comically held his hand in front of his face trying to hide it from the camera. As I was leaving a man in a flannel shirt was walking up the hill coming towards me and really eyeballing me, and after a couple of minutes he reversed his course to parallel me walking down the hill but on the opposite side of the street. He was clearly sent to follow me. I think I get followed more than any other auditor put there.
After the audit was over I was able to do some research on this location and discovered it used to be a Nike Missile site built for the purpose of defending the Seattle area against the new (new in 1958) jet powered nuclear bombers. The Nike missile sites were only in operation for 8 years before being decommissioned after which the sites were offered to other government offices, then offered to private entities, and if there were no takers the sites were simply abandoned. Considering all of the money spent to develop, design, and build the missiles and all of the money needed to build the sites to only get 8 years of usage seems like a terrible waste of money.
    Thank you for watching.

That's the alternate nuclear SHTF communication site for the low frequency submarine fleet off the WA Coast. The primary site is at Pacific Beach. Friend worked on this project back in the 60's. There's a full underground city/hospital that can support 125 people for an extended duration in a nuclear attack. The Seattle Times did a series of articles on this site back in the 90's. Good to see it's still active and functional. There's many old Nike sites through out WA that have been abandoned.

OOOOOOHHHH the memories !!! !We lived just south of there when I was in high school on 240th SW Bothell High school class of 59 !!!! That site was a small airfield before the Nike site was there, use to be a skeleton of a light plane there!!! We use to run through the woods there !!! Pontius and Canyon Park road were just narrow 2 lane country roads. Was last by there about 3 years ago, visiting relatives and did not recognize the place !!! WOW !!!!

What is this American obsession naming every public building from a urinal to the mayor's tool shed with the name of some obscure politician, council worker or dead general ?

Walks up trying to hide his face and you say he seemed "relatively cordial and relatively friendly." What's your favorite brand of tampon?
