Honest Rock Review: Zenkeeper Stone (2024)

- I’ve ordered rough rock for either #rocktumbling or other #lapidary work from a few different places over the past few months, so I figured - hey, since I’m uploading to CZcams now, why not make some honest review videos?
Today I’m giving y’all my honest opinion on Zenkeeper Stone, a company you can order from on Temu*. I’m pretty new to the rock tumbling and lapidary game so this is NOT an authoritative review! You’re seeing the stone from this order for the first time at the same time that I am (“live unboxing” if you will), so please feel free to use that to form your own opinions!
And I did go back to find what I paid for these, so again, use that to form your own opinion. (All prices are USD, and what you saw was one pound of each!)
Zoicite: $14.83/lb
Blue Apatite: $11.43/lb
African Bloodstone: $11.98/lb
Tiger Eye: $8.66/lb
Dragon Blood: $10.21/lb
Moss Agate: $5.08/lb

Love their labradorite! And their tiger eyes are amazing as well.
I was SO pleased with the Tiger Eye I got in this batch, another supplier (the “shall remain nameless”) who I ordered from sent me a pound of mostly matrix with maybe a tiny shiny spot on each, and they were so small that I’m still not sure tumbling them will reveal any further shine. Like - c’mon y’all, just a TINY bit of quality control? 😑 I’ll make a video on that supplier in upcoming weeks, I’m hoping that *maybe* the crummy stuff I got from them was just a fluke.
I don’t think I ordered Lab from Zenkeeper yet! I’m in the middle of tumbling some Labradorite from various vendors right now and oh gosh, the “black labradorite” has AMAZING speckled rainbow color flashes as opposed to full face flash, I cannot WAIT until this batch is finished!
@@WarszawaScream My tiger eye didn't look that good, but still got amazing slabs out of them. I'll have to check out the black labradorite, never heard of that.
@@aeronkaster7305 I’m not sure if the “black labradorite” has another name, it’s basically labradorite with a much darker tint to it but you get some crazy rainbow effects!
@@WarszawaScream lol, that explains why I couldn't find anything by that description. I'm sure it's amazing.
@@WarszawaScream I got that shine the next time I ordered labradorite through zen keeper. Barely any shine and the one good piece exploded into pieces when I tried to slab it. I can't blame them, you never know what's inside the rock, but it happens quite frequently that the first order is amazing and the next is just blah. But, for 20$ a lb, I'm still happy enough with my first batch that I will definitely try again.

@@WarszawaScream you can be my sibling why not!!!.....long island is cool.... been to fire island and the hamptons......took me 3 hours with the dam summer traffic
@@johnny0253 you gotta go all the way past the Hamptons and out to Montauk sometime, it’s calmed down a *little* bit from when I was always partying out there 10 years ago but MAAANN it is absolutely magical. Bring a 5 gallon bucket for water, some firewood, and a big metal basin - dig a hole in the sand on the beach, put the basin in, fill that bucket with beach water to keep nearby (keeps the police happy!), build yourself a bonfire in that bin and enjoy your night on the beach knocking back some cold beverages with your buddies. No shirts, no shoes, no problems.
@@WarszawaScream i was planning on heading that way but the traffic was to much......one day i'll get there...... i did visit jennifer lopez house though!!!!
should of had water to dip the rocks in!!!! lol
