- Really, is there any better sound than an old, near-abandoned engine firing back up for the first time with fresh spark?? We don't think there is. Especially on something like our shreditor Kyle's C4 Corvette, which wasn't too far away from being scrapped forever. But now? Now, it's almost ready to eat.

Kyle’s C4 Vette might be becoming way too reliable for the Donut Garage... What power adders should Kyle add to the C4 to make it way sketchier to drive?!
You want something sketchier? Let's ask Brad! 😂
Pro charger for sure
Have you tried installing a Hert?
@@joealex65 let him add some turdos😂
Pro charger
Kudos to everyone who has chipped in to help Kyle. Kyle, you've come a long way in a short time. It's cool to watch you learn your car. 👍
Ke ke!! 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Jesus brings back a Vette for the dead - ca. 30 AD, colorized
lol last time i checked jesus had curly hair
Jose is killer. We need more Jose!
We have plenty more Jose droppin’ on Garage Garage and another series with Dan 🤘🏼.
@@HooniganProjectGarage dan and jose. what a team-up! those guys could crank whatever project out.
#getyouajose
I love Jose and Kyle together.
Should open a chill shop together where they work on old vettes called "Chev-Bro-let Speed shop"
Foxtooth that should be the name of kyles show
Oh yeah! More of KE KE's Corvette, i just can't get enough, how not to love Kyle, such an awesome guy and this Corvette C4 fits him perfectly! 🔥🔥
Between the Van and the Vette Kyles has the raddest 90’s car collection at the Garage.

Wonder if he remembered to put oil in it with the "No oil" post it note still on there :D
Ehhh. It was just long enough to get the rings to re-sit... 🤣
@@HooniganProjectGarage Well at the end of the day it ran so i guess it's enough :D
That post-it note gave me so much anxiety man, why the hoonigans gotta do me dirty like that
Finish your Corvette, Vince. Or we're going to organize an Area 51 raid on your HOUSE, bro.
Let us know if we need to start a Facebook event page for this..
#gettoworkvin
So you will stand outside his house awkwardly for a few hours?
Probably. I didn't plan on going.
@@HooniganProjectGarage just do it!!!
We need more Jose! Bring in his 240z
Kinda worried about jose s neck though am i the only one seeing a knot on his neck. Not hating on you jose worried about you bro you work to hard not to get that type of attention back.take care of your worker hard hoonigan

Glad to see you making progress on your Corvette Kyle. It's also great to see people coming together to help Kyle succeed at the Corvette Daily life. Life hack: If cork gaskets are painted (straight up rattle can; it doesn't matter the color) The painted cork gasket seals up much better, because they aren't porous anymore, so they don't leak (as much) oil. Some times the painted cork gasket can be reused in a pinch, because they don't tear as easily, and if it's only siliconed to say one surface. For example just the valve cover or the oil pan they act very similarly to modern gaskets. THE MORE YOU KNOW!
VINCE.... get crackin on that vette.
Bruh!
Great to see C4 content. That is the highest evolution of the original small block Chevrolet V8. Really an amazing engine for it's time.
Low key one of my favorite builds. And Kyle must be cool as shit - seems like everyone wants to help this guy. And shout to Jose! Need more Jose.
Yes!! Finally got a dude who knows what's up! Love this car.
Does the engine have oil? The sticky note still said no.
I love watching Kyle dig in to this project, learn and build his confidence in his wrenching abilities.
Stoked to see more of this build. Keep up the good work guys 💪
That’s awesome I think this corvette fits Kyle perfectly. Just have him put on one of those kids shirts and hop in it for some great pics! 😆
Here’s Johnny! Good shit bro! Got it fired up...smooth like butter!
Good Job Kyle, I’m glad the Vette is coming along....👍
Love seeing Jose more these days, seems like a cool ass dude. And he really knows his shit!
1. There is something satisfying about seeing those fat front tires when the hood is open.
2. Frostbite is such a legit company name for cooling products.
3. You have some cool friends, helping you out with your project.
4. Although the red valve covers would have been cool, your painted ones almost match your car better, being a fixed up daily. I like them, good job.
5. This is a perfect vehicle match to your van, keep this duo!
6. If you paint it, put yellow stripes or accents of some sort to compliment your van. You could do fender stripes in yellow, keep it classy.
7. Hard park this and the van in the yard for a photo shoot maybe?
Every time I see Kyle, I'm like "that guy looks like the cover of Dennis Wilson's 1977 album, Pacific Ocean Blue".
It's great to see you bring this back to life instead of parting it out like many do to good C4 Corvettes.
So happy that the abondoned C4 is alive. Every car needs a new life and this one looks fine from 5m away with only requiring a new paintjob if that. No rust = a running car.
It sounds like a proper car now!! Congrats!
Great work getting it running.
Respect Jose - One of the most useful member of the Hoonigan team!
It's like watching a 5yr old discover new things , good for you dude for taking the time to learn how your own car works. Everyone has to start some where. Other than the opti spark back in the 70's we called this a tune up and anything in the 80's anything with opti spark we called it a tune up when you replaced the opti . and water pump . Only difference was you re-set the carb and checked the timing the opti you reset timing no carb to dick with.
Can't think of anybody more deserving. Congrats Kyle! Makes me wanna get a C4!! Next step most DEF should be a procharger and some new heads MAXIMUM SKETCH!!
I love C4 Corvettes! Only bad thing are the seats. Glad to see this one being brought back to life!! Vince, fix your damn Corvette!!!
I'm so excited for you Kyle the car is awesome and so are you dude❗❗❗❗
Thanks for the videos I been fighting a misfire in my 95 Z28 after putting a bunch of new parts in. Changed spark plugs, wires, ICM coil and heat sink, injectors. I haven’t changed the opti cause PO said he changed it but when I first got the car a hose clamp blew off the water pump and leaked on the opti. Looks like I’ll be replacing that lol hopefully no more misfire!
I would totally watch a Vince solo series. He's iconic.
This is legitimately my favourite build on hoonigan.
I'm begging you to keep it going and not turn it into something you can't daily!
Awesome to see kyles project coming along ! Kee kee!
I’m so happy to have some quality Kyle content
Vin is just holding this beautiful Vette master all to himself? Bastard.
I didn’t know this car was abandoned or from a scrapyard.......nice👍
Cool that the basics got the car running, All the same stuff I did on my RB30 for my ute and man does this treatment even make the oldest junk sing.
It’s hard to kill an old American V8... All you have to do is knock the dust off of it and throw a fresh water pump on it and you should be good to go.
@@HooniganProjectGarage if those are something, you guys have gotta try the buick 3800 as a burnyard car... we have them in the commodores, you don't need a radiator to thrash it. Mang until heat seized, have beers, start her back up and mang some more.
Awwwwsnnnaapp!!! The vett is looking and sound good Kyle!! 👌👌🔥🔥
You all got lucky with this ... with an Opti, ALWAYS fire it up before you put the water pump back on after replacement. It is a lot easier than you think to get the spines of the Opti off (on the first generation Opti) than you might think. It is a huge PITB to pull everything back off in order to "fix" the Opti if something is amiss. Running it for a minute to ensure proper operation is not going to cause any problems with the engine. Also, never remove the thermostat to solve overheating issues in a Gen II SBC. You will create more problems than you solve due to the reverse flow cooling. The thermostat not only controls the fluid through the radiator, but controls the flow through the engine as well.
Glad you got the old girl running, though. I hate to see good iron ... er ... fiberglass go to waste! :o)
the california vibe is contagious, i can taste it . good job kyle
Saturday afternoon with a beer and Hoonigan videos! What more could you ask for :)
Pizza and front yard Burnouts would top it off.
Hoonigan Project Cars Absolutely!
Another great video 👍
Great job
Cam swap. Weight reduction. Keep them stock rims just because they are fresh prince d out . diff service .turdo
Wow after wasting a shit ton of money on my 94 camaro it looks like my optispark was the only thing wrong on my car, i had mechanic after mechanic charge me for parts and labor and waited months at a time for my baby, and it looks like you guys fixed it in under a week, props sounds great 👍 man! I miss my lt1😢
Rule #1) If you own an old LT1 slap an Optispark on it, it will fix most of your problems 69% of the time.
Optisparks only take a few hours to change, and its a very easy job on a fbody. On a car like that you should be turning those wrenches yourself.
@@HooniganProjectGarage Wow! I Didnt think i would get a reply, thanks i really appreciate it 😊
@@ElteeMullet yeah but it was my first car, had no idea what i had, and no time cause i was always working. Every mechanic i delt with was due to my desperation of fixing my car as soon as possible, and first car buyer vulnerability.
@@HooniganProjectGarage Rule #2) The Optispark you use to replace the factory unit that is no longer available will leave you stranded 69% of the time - in the first week. Especially so if you don't go with the newer vented unit. I hope you enjoyed the install. You will be doing it again and again. The MSD has one of the worst reputations of all the aftermarket units according to corvetteforum.com.
Sunday friend.... priceless!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😇😇😇
That homie Jonny looked baked 😎 can’t wait to see it in the burn yard 🍩
Jose is a good dude.
Everyone needs a Jose!
Would love to see that Vette done up in a nice Silver. And it would help keep interior temps under control down there. Great to see ya getting that car on the road!
Yeahhhh Johnny!!!! That’s what’s up right there... let’s go!! #lsjuan #c4whisperer I wanna see more Johnny lol 😆 let’s go primo
the two different metals together produce whats called galvanic corrosion. corrosion occurs on both metals at the surface where they meet and the corroded metal expands in size and seizes the metals together. anti-seize stops this corrosion by being a sacrificial layer, in turn preventing seized bolts.
Fun fact about aluminum and steel coming in contact with each other on vehicles...because of the 12v negative ground system, essentially your entire chassis sees electricity, because electricity flows from positive to negative and then disperses, and when aluminum and steel contact each other in the presence of electricity they will corrode each other, which is one of the main reasons it's so hard to get steel spark plugs out of aluminum heads...that's why adding in zinc or copper anti-seize helps in that situation, is by reducing the amount of contact between steel and aluminum by giving a fine layer of another metal in between them...
I'm sure it was a packaging thing but it still seems like utter madness that gm positioned the optispark under the water pump.
Cool build
Allright, 4th ep. of c4
misfire finally out, i consider this project completed 😂
Good work
I mean Ki-ki !)
This is now my favorite car
close with the expanding and contracting but you want to use anti seize to prevent electrolysis-the build up of corrosion that happens when 2 different materials are against each other good vid guys
So pimp! Kyle enjoy that whip!
9:06 Get those sticky notes outta there, you almost gave me a heart attack lol
Just wanna say Jose is not only a beast for all the obvious reasons but for also doing all this work ON CAMERA while obviously dealing with what I'm assuming is a very large cyst. Dunno if this has been mentioned anywhere but hopefully he gets that sorted even though it's clearly not slowing him down at all. I know I'd be keeping my ass of camera during that but clearly I'm less of a man than that guy is. #dontstopfornothing
You take the extra anti-sieze and put a dab on the bottom side of any thing you can casually watch and see how many people touch it and touch other stuff. Funny as heck, you have to remember to breathe between the laughter.
Dude, its coming back to life. Hope to see it at the next Burnyard Bash!
Kyle is going to be the final boss at the next Burnyard...
Hoonigan Project Cars We will be there in December. 👍
Bro, that had to be such a winning feeling!
Would somebody please! Send this Man a wash mitt!!!! Cool project though!
Im super excited to see this Corvette shred down shred blvd in shredcity.
I really dig this build. Plus Kyle is the F’in man.
Pro tip- putting silicone on cork gaskets actually ruins them
Yup. Supposed to use that dark brown/black gasket sealer stuff you brush on both sides. It’ll never come back off clean, but it won’t leak either.
Kyle, has anyone ever told you that you look like Rocco from The Boondock Saints?
I can see that
Lmao!
I've been waiting for this damn episode
Vince get your damn Corvette running
Bromance love makes real wheel dreams. Lol honest stoke cant get better than that. Now i wanna c4 dammit
i like this corvette build :)
SHOUT OUT TO YOUR BOY JAMES DEAN! Formula Drift champion 3 years straight!
Right on!!
Great build kyle.. kee kee!
Kee Kee!🤘🏼🤘🏼
Should use the copper high temperature anti-seize on plugs. That aluminum stuff actually hardens on plug threads.
Take stuff off to get to get other stuff! Yet, more good stuff!
Kyle, in just one episode, have still more work under the belt, than scotto in an entire life
Bjorn is back!
I once owned a 1994 Chevy Impala ss..... Had the exact same engine , had about twice the space that Corvette engine bay has.... It took me three hours to changed my spark plus cuz they were so inaccessible... Looking at that just made my hands hurt all over again trying to get to them.... Lol
hell yeah. new hoonigan vid to to get day started. 🤓
🤘🏼🤘🏼Staff Inspection is the adult version of Saturday morning cartoons.
KeeKee! looking forward to next Episode!
Next Saturday 8am PST, set your alarm now! 🤘🏼
Vince you should fix you vette and race kyles vette.
Battle of the C4 life bringers!
It's crazy how the new fastest stick gm car is ran by an gen 2 lt1 like in Kyle's c4!!!!!
It was probably Kyles C4 that set the record...
*starts car* leaf blower in the background: WOOOOOOOSSSSHHHHH
Looks like a 🐛 crawling across those glasses! Damn, tame those bad boys brotha!!!
Pro-tip if you live in a cold area: don't take out it it out, but buy a thermostat that opens when it fails, so if it does it doesn't overheat. You want a thermostat to get and keep the engine up to the ideal temperature when it's cold outside. Otherwise it isn't as efficient and it will wear faster.
Kyle needs to turn this thing into the Cwest corvette from TXR3
Jose needs a damn raise
Really want to see a staff space race again
Is it Vince's does it run 😂😂
So Kyle's Bro-brows and Vin's Man-stache power dock and get that other C4 up and running, then contact MacFarland Fabrication and get you some turbo manifolds for that vette and make that tsu tsu brap brap noise
awesome to see your car skillz and know-how progressing , you a badA$$
