I don't know if the male gender would use the word mate more frequently?? Or whether living in town or outback makes a difference? Or whether 21st century kids/young people use the word mate??

What? both emus and kangaroos can move other directions than forward, There is not 7000 beaches in Australia and its islands, there almost 11000 beaches on the mainland alone. Australia has the longest stretch of straight highway in the world. Bob Hawke is the 3rd longest serving prime minister and he did not drink at all when he was prime minister. Fosters is a horrible beer that we only sell overseas so people dont come here and drink all our good stuff. There are more maltese people in Australia than in malta. None of the laws you mention are laws in Australia, I dont know where you got that from, I think some of them are englands laws. One side of Mel Gibsons family is Australian, the other half is American, due to his great grandmother being a great opera singer from the south coast NSW who moved to the US and married an American. And Im putting my drop bear killing stick up for sale because its been ineffective

The "drop bear" is legendary, like dragons or the Bunyip (another legendary Australian animal). It is probably from Aboriginal dreamtime lore, and it may relate to the Thylacoleo or marsupial lion (now extinct).

This video has little on the natural world, which Australia truely excels at. Like the Great Barrier Reef, the largest living thing on Earth (and can be seen on the moon). While North America may have the tallest plant on Earth (the Sequoia conifer), Australia has the tallest flowering plant (or Angiosperm) on Earth, i.e. Eucalyptus Regnans or the Mountain Ash or Swamp Gum (depending on your location). Found in Southern Victoria and Tasmania.
