  • 2009 BMW M3 with S65 V8 engine. Today I am replacing the injectors and the fuel tank breather valve to fix my rough idle after filling up. This video also covers how to remove the intake plenum for the e9x M3.
    Since I am at 107k miles, I wanted to swap the injectors to reduce the risk of catastrophic engine failure due to hydro lock. The fuel injector can get stuck open and flood the engine.

    Thanks for the video!
    I did it without removing the main fuel line, you can just remove the 4 bolts and flip the rail upside down and replace each injector (make sure you put something underneath so fuel doesn't get on anything)

      @Sals_Garage  Před 2 lety +3

      Thanks for sharing. That makes it a lot easier because that main fuel line is tough to disconnect

    Yep! My engine to my e92 m3 hydro locked and got scored due to fuel injectors being open. Great info, I would add to replace your fuel pump as well.
    I’ve heard the reason the fuel injectors get stuck is due to the corrosion or dirt coming from the fuel pump

    Gosh watching you mangle that breather valve was tough. Maybe I'm old fashioned but when I break something I can't half ass the repair anymore and buy whole new parts. In this case I would have bought a whole new hose assembly. Sucks for whoever has the car next and finds that, I know i'd be a little bugged with it because who knows what else was fixed with the same shortcuts.

    • @Sals_Garage
      @Sals_Garage  Před rokem +2

      Understandable, for me I’m not planning to sell the car anyway so as long as the car runs healthy, that’s all that matters. It’s anyone’s decision to choose how to fix a brittle plastic part. Thanks for sharing.
