  • If you’ve been the dock a few times, and gotten some salt in your socks, then you’ve certainly spent some time with an Ugly Stik rod in your hands; in fact, you may think you could spot that “clear tip” classic from a mile away! Don’t be too sure; the brand new Ugly Stik Carbon Inshore rod available in shops later this fall marks an evolution of its Ugly Tech rod construction featuring 24-ton, 100% graphite blank, with a solid graphite tip for a lighter, more well-balanced rod that boasts crisp action and increased sensitivity. This is not your father’s Ugly Stik, or even the Ugly Stik you once fished with your father; this ultra-tough rod is available in both spinning and casting models retailing for around $100 and winner of the Best of Saltwater Rod category at ICAST 2022.

7' carbon inshore medium heavy/fast action is the bomb. Landed a 3' shark on the beach like a champ.

Just ordered one like yours. What's the lure rating and how does it compare to the striper rod.

The most important thing on a rod you didn't mention is the lure weight!!

If these had Fuji guides they would be an absolute hit (not that they aren't good) they could have been heaps better with Fuji guides though.

Guides need to be washed after use they do corrode rather quickly. Love the rods.

And braid cuts into the stainless guides. It wasn't a problem with the old Fiji aluminum oxide guides
