Thanks FBM for the great install today. No more bounce in the wheel when going over rough road like it used to…so far so good! appreciated you installing!
Top notch product without a doubt! I used the updated Motorcraft steering damper but have been in vehicles with this one. Steering was smooth as silk and bump steer very little to none.
Truly appreciate this video, my wife's 250 Super Duty is doing this, after I had new tires installed. I've looked at everything but her steering wheel stability bar. Like that Fox product... Guess we're lucky my Dad is a retired Auto Tec. Hello from our family to yours!
In 1982, My lifted by 4 inches 1979 F250 had the death wobble. Rancho steering stabilizer fixed it. At the time i had 35 inch Monster mudders on it . I miss that truck
2 thousands views in 13 hours! Tells you how much this hits home! Almost A Public Service Announcement! Wow ! I can say so much thanks for this post! Amazing and truly exciting! I would have to start from the beginning in 2018 when I bought the vehicle and everyone including the dealer called my front end “Chatter”! I changed complete sets of tires to stop the chatter on my 2018 super duty. What was bad was turns on ramps changing from like interstate 80 to Route 394 near Indiana you would get off the ramp and the front END would chatter so much the vehicle almost lose control Like I said, I changed tires several times I went for a very expensive hard rubber back to a soft rubber back to the hard rubber, Everything I found on the Internet said it was a chatter problem and a defect with Ford and you seem to prove it IS that simple piston. It’s 2023 and I will do that! Thanks!
In all reality the piston is just a Band-Aid per se but a very permanent type bandaid, they say the real fix is redressing the camber in the front end but it's expensive to order the camber shim kit and then have it done and then have the alignment done they say adding some more camera to it would fix the problem
I left the factory one in place and added a dual stabilizer kit from PMF to my 19. It made a huge difference. I have a couple Bilstein stabilizers on the setup. I couldn’t swing the Fox ones. 😂
if you have not ever experienced the "death wobble" its an OMG! Things that make you say Oh Crap, Oh Crap, Oh Crap!!! I have a ol' 97 UHaul 14ft F350 dually and it had it going on. Banking on an off ramp going 55, and I almost lost it. I found the stabilizer bushings and stabilizer shock was bad and was easy to replace. Those death wobbles are no joke. Pay attention folks, this is an important fix...
Had death wobble on my 2019 F350 dually at 17,000 miles. I have a little experience with dw as I have a couple of lifted Jeep’s with it. The dealer first said the drag link was “worn within limits”, and they replaced the steering stabilizer. About 4 months, and 5000 miles later dw was back, took it back, and this time the front tires were cupped, so they replaced the drag link. I am an aircraft mechanic, and understand within limits, however, anything in the steering system needs 0 wear, especially at low mileage.
@@FordBossMe I was going to say check alignment yearly. The shop that did my lift on my 19 super duty said that the alignment also has a big part in th dw
Tha ks Rich...replaced draglink ends and SS, with a bilstein SS on my 17 F350. That oem stud "popped" using a puller. By chance, have you seen the steering shaft dust bearing on the firewall wear early. Thanks beother...
Take a 6 to 8 pound wood handle , cut the handle off to fit in your tool box .When I was a welder we used a short handle 10 pound sledge hammer in side semi tanks
I have a 2021 F350. No death wobble. Not even a hint of death wobble. It's a stock crew cab 4x4 with an aux fuel transfer tank in the bed. No lift, stock tire size.
Those springs are clean because I wash and wipe down the undercarriage and frame rails from front to back after I’ve had it out in salt and when the temp is reasonable (30F+) 2019 Superduty clean as they come in the rust belt.
I was under the assumption that the death wobble was due to bad ball joints an rod ends. 🤷🏻♂️. I want to put a stabilizer on my van for the bump steer 😎
I mean I've covered this already and even in this comment section I've covered it with multiple other comments on what the death level actually is It's more of a camber issue than anything you got to like reset the whole entire front end though with adding a little bit more camber to it but ford doesn't want to own up to that being the problem it's not set correctly So the upgraded heavy duty steering stabilizer is more like a permanent bandaid but it works
i really could use this tool number if you have it il get it from my snap on dealer cause i dont have matco or mag tools in my area and im a ford tech and have to hammer these things all the dang time
Is the death wobble only an issue with non stock trucks? I have owned 4 Fords (2 F350s, an F250 and an F150) all stock suspensions and tire sizes. I have never had an issue with death wobble.
To be honest with you the upgraded steering stabilizer only basically puts a Band-Aid on the death wobble to really fix the death wobble you have to redo the camber of the truck but Ford doesn't pay for that and it's quite expensive to do

Cheapest I found so far

Hello family, I appreciate you all and thank you for all of your support...it means alot
I had a lot ofbump steer on my '17 installed the fox stabilizer and fox shocks all around it cured my bump steer.
Great video man, always learning something when I watch your videos

Nice job and quality parts. 😊🐶

Thinking about putting one on my F53 rv chassis . The wind liked to blow me off the road last year.

Camber issue
The HD stabilizer fixes it as a bandaid but it works

Does this DW also impact the 2021’s?
I need to get a hammer head attachment for my air hammer. If I had to use a regular hammer I'd hit everything but the lottery.
That's a good one. 50 yrs ago my dad would tease me using a hammer, " I'll start calling you lighting cause you can't strike the same spot twice" LOL
😄
Nice upgrade Rich 👌
Thanks 👍
Looks really nice!

I did this as well but added the PMF Suspension HD Drag Link as well. Done.
Excellent video. Im looking at getting a 17 f250 with the 6.2.
Good truck

Started watching this video and thought that voice sounded familiar- Power Stroke Tech talk ! Yeah buddy !
Need one of these for my jeep in the future
Thanks boss I need to do this on my 3rd factory stabilizer
I had it put on boss, night and day difference. Thanks boss
How much does the FOX unit cost?
Sounds like Croutster in the background 🤣
Oh yes
Cody you have good ears! 😂
Watch that track bar ball joint, if loose will cause same problem
Great vid. Thank you Boss. Wonder if this steering wheel oscillation problem is still fixed?
Yeah on this one it is
New coil springs already? and a new Rubber Damper? for 2017 truck?
No clean springs looks like new

How would you compare this to a dual setup on the tie rod?
These are set up just like that on the tie rod

The one arm mechanic
Every 6 months? So basically, with every oil change?
Lol I was being sarcastic but the point was the Ford steering stabilizers blow

Steering stabilizers do not cause death wobble, they smooth out the steering wheel when turning, take it off and drive it, you'll see what it does.
A customer has noticed no more steering oscillation after installing this as of right now we leave it and we don't touch it it's working
