Very classy guy and a mega talented singer songwriter how he's not a superstar I'll never know as Young Pilgrim was an amazing album....
After busted the majority of people lost interest. He went from something very much pop based into something consisting of mainly metal which was fightstar, so many of the fans from the busted era weren't interested. And then he went even further, doing his own thing, at which point, many but not all of his prior fans had either forgotten or just plain left
deconso11 agree i was a huuuuugeeee fan of busted omg i cant believe its been 10 years. i was 12 i was so obsessed with him after he left i lost interest. it was a huge mistake of him to leave the band at its peak.
I don't think it was a mistake. He was never happy with busted because it wasn't the music he wanted to make. He went to fightstar because that was music he enjoyed making more. So if anything it was good for him to be able to do what he wanted.
deconso11 i guess you're right lol. i listened to fightstar at first but i didnt like it. but too bad his other music didn't generate the same amount of attention and overwhelmed success as busted tho
deconso11 I agree. Unfortunately, the average radio-listener is a moron who knows nothing of decent lyrics and anything other that autotuned pop-shit.

I absolutely loved busted, and I haven't stopped listening to them since they broke up. Recently after seeing mcbusted, charlie, and fightstar, all over the past year, I have come up with the opinion that I'm very glad Charlie left busted. I still love busted as a band but Charlie must have quite brave to decide to leave such a big band at the time to join a more low key one. Fightstar is till currently my favourite band whilst Charlie is my favourite soloist.
Now Busted are reunited
good interview love charlies solo but was hoping for a little mention that fightstar are still good with a possible return maybe??
They have already confirmed it. The band is just on a Hiatus, they haven't broken up. When Alex and Dan are done with the movie and Gunship Music, who are doing the music for the movie amongst other things... then they can all get back on track with Fightstar. Charlie has used the break to make solo music, not the other way around.

I'm a huge Mcfly and Busted fan so naturally I detest Charlie, he broke my heart as an 11 year old girl. I only hope he isn't too annoyed now McBusted are a massive band. Can't wait for the new album! I do however think he's acted in the most mature way possible so I wish him the best of luck :)
Thanks for this information, I wasn't aware this was the case although I did know that Tom had a big input. Best of luck to him really :) still looking forward to seeing McBusted in April though!
***** You are lying!! Tom didn't wright a single song for the busted album. Tom and Charlie met James and Matt at the same time and it was when they auditioned for Busted.
Charlie knew exact what kind of band he was joining (Pop/Punk), he said in an interview that the same day he was signing the contract he was sitting in the car thinking did i do the wright thing and his big brother told him that it will be hard for him to join a rock band after this.

You do realise Charlie wanted nothing to do with Mcbusted, he sold his rights to Busted songs for £1,000,000. I am sure he is pretty happy ;).
I work with a 19 year old and she has never heard of busted. I officially feel old
I only became a McFly fan in 2008 and only listened to Busted when McBusted started so I never really knew anything about Charlie. Since I only started listening after Busted split up (a long time after), Charlie's decision had virtually no effect on me. I saw an interview of his where he seemed to regret being in Busted but to me he does seem like a genuinely good person
