I live in So Cali. We rented for about 10 years & I didn't like it at all now we own/have a mortgage. When we first moved to Palm Springs our rent was $550 for a studio apt back in 2003. When we left, the rent for a 2 bedroom apartment was $1K I said nope, this is someone's mortgage. We're getting our own home...that we did. 7 years this coming Summer we'll be in our house.
She also mentioned that she's looking for a house in the hills. She also drives the car that she drives. All are her choices as she builds and maintains the lifestyle she wants.
We're all building the lifestyle we want. But I don't need a "whip" or those other things, rather have the house and not a glorified condo.
