Une Nuit Nomade is such a gem of a house and more people should be talking about them. I currently own 7 of their bottles and can’t wait to explore any new scents they come out with. Sugar Leather was one of my favorite finds in 2023. The tour sounds amazing and to meet with UNN is definitely another cherry on top.

Goodness Marcelo, this was a great tour you shared with us. I really love the storytelling and how everything is connecting with the smell of a time, place, music and people ( just like Cyril’s comment about Miriam Makeba❤️)
I’ve always had that deep rooted sense of smell eg: when you suggested Memo’s African Leather….that was something that transported me to childhood overseas (as we were leaving for Australia) the smoke, from the train,, metal on metal from the wheels, the wood interior and the old time leather😭.I will never be without that fragrance now🙏🏻Thank you Marcelo.

I have yet to test this one, but yes, une nuit nomade is a great house! (don't pronounce the "T" in "nuit" ;) )
Fun little fact you might already know: when you describe the smell of freshly cut coco nut bringing you back instantly to your time in PNG, the French have a very nice expression, they say it's a "madeleine de Proust" (mad-lehn de Proust). Proust was a very famous author (In Search of Lost Time), in which he describes the first time he ate a "madeleine" ( A typical French shell shaped cake), it was in his grandmother's kitchen. And ever after that, whenever he ate a madeleine, the taste would bring him back to that time and place. Nowadays, the expression is very comonly used to describe the association we make when we hear a song, smell or taste something ant it brings us back to a specific memory.

I absolutely love the note of plum in fragrances. I'm definitely gonna check this one out.
The opening to Sugar Leather has a glorious plum, dark fruit but it does recede into the background as the fragrance moves into the more leather animalic tones.
If you want that full expression of the plum note; then I would recommend to you Ambre Khandjar (also part of the Oman Collection)....this now celebrates the plum note all the way through the fragrance (and it's is next world glorious!!)

Evening Marcelo. Une Nuit Nomade is a sleeping giant. My favorites are as follows Click Song dedicated to South African music icon Mirriam Makeba from rural Eastern Cape province or state Xhosa speaking region dialect dominated by clicks, Love at First Sight especially with two floral notes I'm familiar with creamy, buttery, soft bright yellow acacia flower found in around Pretoria and Kruger National Park, and purple flower from Jacaranda trees which stretch from north of Johannesburg till Pretoria during summer it's a pure bliss natural smell if you walk under these tall trees, lastly Ambre Khandjar my top 5 amber scent, from South Africa 🇿🇦 Joburg South.

i love leather , just love it . one of the thing the take instantly to a place and time , is perfume , but as you said it has to be a pleasant moment in order to enjoy the perfume, for example tom for tobacco Vanil, it is divine, but it took me to the bazar . the old market on amman jordan , i was there as asylum seeker , so it was very very bad experience for me , it is a beautiful perfume ,but every time i put my nose on it it take in a second there , all the bad memories start poring on my shoulders, thats why i hade to give it a way to detach my self from this experience, i really liked it but i cant stand the memory print, the association of the perfume , for this era of my life, thats why i never ware perfume when i'm going to government place to do some papers related to my resident permit or hospital, it will take me there .
Awesome to hear from you Naseer and even though it was sad to read the experiences that you went through; you did highlight a great point (and one that I also observe)...never wear perfume when you're going to a place that you don't like (Government builds or Hospitals for you)....like you said; this will lock that scent to the location and bring back bad memories.
And interesting that you can no longer wear Tobacco Vanille😢 but all good! Once you secure your citizenship, you can celebrate by locking in a new fragrance to this occasion!!

Great Review! Love these formats. I have fallen for this house completely last year. So far I own, Mr. Vetiver, Nothing but Sea and Sky, Jardin de Misfah, Rose America, and one more. I will probably end up with this whole house. I want Suma Oriental next. I have samples of the others. I will say when you buy from this house they give you many samples. Have a Great Weekend! Hi Marcelo, good morning. Unfortunately, in India Une Nuit brand has not arrived yet and thanks for letting us know that they ship all over the world. Will try sometime later, since the import/customs duties on luxury goods like perfumes run somewhere between 50-60 in India. On a side note talking about leather, I bought Purple Suede from Goldfield and Banks and it is a banger! Just love the softness of leather mixed with Lavender, Amber etc. I totally get you when you were talking about cutting tender coconuts and climbing trees, it is very similar in India as well. The fresh cuti coconut water is so soothing especially in summers!

This should get more attention, at least as much attention as Pacific Rock Moss if not more. I presume there are videos with Dimitri and I will watch them. Yes, unfortunately the customs duties are pretty high for all things luxury. Often it is better to get it from a discounter since they have different methods to source the perfumes, but this one was not available with any discounter.

I was still on the fence about this fragrance as it remained in my want list but with your review im now certain its worth buying. It has drawn comparison it angel's share which made me reluctant but with you suggesting its a balance between sugar and leather then im quite certain this is thar fragrance DNA made more to my liking
Great to hear from you Edgardo and interesting that you've heard that it shares similarities to Angels Share...I don't get this at all (like Zero). From memory, Angels Share has this exaggerated boozy apple fruity note (and sits on this for some time)...whereas this is more dark fruits/vanilla/sugary that moves into leather animalic on the drydown.
Admittedly I tested Angels Share only once and it knocked me about 😵💫 (as per the comments above)...need to test Angels Share again as I know that this is a crowd favourite

Good question on Sandalwood! Ok some suggestions based on different styles:
Creamy: Seminalis by Orto Parisi - now Alessandro Gaultierie doesn't reveal the notes but the drydown has a wonderful creamy sandalwood texture to it (so I'm going to say sandalwood)...this fragrance is magical

Aromatic: Original Santal by Creed - bright, vibrant woody joy. This is an all year round fragrance that projects confidence

Woody (Dry): Guilty Story by Mihan Aromatics - this is an Aussie company based in Melbourne. They make exceptional, niche (of niche) fragrance's. Not hard to understand but very understated. They work hard to keep everything very 'Aussie Made' and their Sandalwood is from WA. This one is gorgeous. Understated fragrance with seduction powers...big recommendation

Have you ever tried Lanoratorio Olfattivo Daimiris? I feel the dry down is along the same lines as sugar Leather. It‘s a bit more boozy.
I use to own Daimiris; but gave this one away to a friend. From memory, yes it does have a boozy chocolatey touch to it...I believe it had saffron in the construct so that slight suede leather touch......I think I need to revisit this one!!

@TheNicheFragranceCollector I have. However, I found that wearing it in the cold kills off the fruitiness of it, making it smell like an Amouage fragrance I already own. I'm not against unisex leaning feminine fragrances, in fact I'm looking to get some in the future. Going to try Pasci Soir extraight by BDK & Flamingo by Romone Montigol next
