What camera was the video shot on? There is no cut in the filming so both cameras were not used. I can only assume it was the Nikon, so we were not seeing anything from the Panasonic which may or may not give better quality images.
The FZ80 is wider at 20 mm compared to the Nikon’s 24mm. It’s also a lot smaller, cheaper and easier to carry but no flip screen. I use it a lot more than my P900.
What is the point of showing the image from one camera and saying that is how it would look like on another? It makes absolutely zero sense. Sure, you demonstrated how a zoom compares. But actual image quality might be completely different.
but you did the comparison with the same camera, did you? it would be nice to have a image and color quality compared. wouldn't there be any difference in the colors? more over it would be nice to have the 20 to 24 mm comparison
I know that you can have an extention lens for the fz 82 => 1.7 X (60) and then there is barely difference then (102 times magnification) to the nikon P1000 😀 i just made the decision to go for panasonic (lumix) paied for => 3 days and it will be mine 😁
I bought the extension lens and was careful not to add it until after the camera's lens went fully out. For one thing,, the camera wasn't made to have a heavy piece like that weighing in on it, you don't want to break the camera motor. And secondly the image quality with the extender was horrible and dark.
The FZ 80 has 60x optical zoom, does it have a digital zoom as well? If so what is the combined max zoom of it's 60x optical plus it's digital if it has digital?
it also explains why the IQ sucks with the P1000 in real world use when zooming past 1600mm. I was very disappointed with not only mediocre IQ, but it's just too damn big. It really falls flat when trying to capture birds in flight.
Question: how can you tell how far youre zoomed out while shooting video?? clearly youre comparing the distance between the two zooms (barely looks much different lol) But how can you tell the mm of your zoom while in recording mode?? I have the p950 and cant stand the fact it doesnt show how many mm im zoomed out while shooting lol
@@erinsaviation1964 I have a Panasonic FZ 1000 Mark 2 with the digital Zoom i can go to 3200mm on a 1 inch sensor. I have a dslr with a tamron to 450mm and the sony alpha 6400 the best way to take pics with a big zoom are the Bridgecameras.
answer = no, Low quality build, poor low light performance, Grainy photos, low quality microphone, Limited features. You could just get a cheap android phone and its camera would be better (Consider I am using all manual settings on the FZ82 btw). Panasonic FZ82 Is an absolute no
No phone, let alone an android can zoom that far or take nearly as quickly pictures as a bridge camera such as either of these. Unless you found a way for the lens to come out about a foot from your phone to zoom out that far, no phone will get that quality of picture at that distance.
@@erinsaviation1964 my s22 ultra with 100x isn't as good as fz80 but not bad enough that id want to carry an extra camera. mirrorless/dslr though with equivalent zoom is easily 5k though.
Did you only use the P1000?You should have competed side by side..to also see the picture quality difference of both..thanx

Agreed. Looks like it is all filmed on a P-1000. Different sensors/stabilisation/processing software can have a noticeable impact on image quality.
good point, in fact i think Panasonic in max zoom will wooble and shake heavily all over the place. that video is shot only with the p 1000 for sure.

What you don't show or mention, is that the FZ80 has 20mm wide angle as well. Sometimes it is desirable.

@@gloppy101 diffraction is terrible and unavoidable at those long ends when the lens has to stop down a lot.

Both have tiny sensors. So after you get done playing with the zoom, you will most likely be disappointed in the image quality

sony hx60 at 10 meg pix against/ nikon p 1000 /might be a good cheaper super zoom as cutting mega pix increases zoom of sony.
