I Guess the easiest way to understand Toyotas domination of this segment in the world, mid sized pick up trucks is simply reliability. More specifically ALL these hiluxes, rangers, navaras, etc are manufactured in Thailand But the engine and the transmission of the hilux is still manufactured in JAPAN on those highly disciplined and high excellence assembly lines. If you wealthy enough to replace your depreciated truck every 3 years and don’t mind potentially higher maintenance then BUY the truck you love. But if you need that reassurance of longevity, manage a moderate to large fleet, or simply want reassurance out in the field then please consider the ‘Toy’. I have owned both ranger and hilux and after the novelty has worn off, you ultimately yearn for reliability
Raptor- pogi points, tech, and safety features, comfort Hilux GRS- longtime used, durability, reliability, sa tagtag napapalitan naman suspension, Pero yung car reliability and durability, medyo problema pa sa ford raptor,, But anyway, drivesafe everyone

Try the load capacity of both..as it is a pickup, were used to be as cargo truck..for me suspension tagtag is not an issue.for Hilux..try to put a load and no more tagtag issue

This basically boils down to performance vs reliability. If you want performance with all the bells and whistles then go for the Raptor but if you want a proven reliable truck then get the Hilux. Getting from A to B in style is one thing but getting from A to B with a confidence that your truck can get you there is another.

Gusto ko talaga ang raptor its been my dream to have it but i ended up getting the Hilux kasi of its reliability and a tons of aftermarket, dun ako na dali, kasi sa raptor natakot ako sa maintanance yun lang talaga ang reason bakit si Hilux ang napili namin, but you cant go wrong of the raptor its pretty damn nice.👍❤️
3 years na raptor namin walang issue. malambot talaga steering and suspension. 5 years warranty pa. meaning inayos na talaga nila quality at naresolved na yung issues ning 2019 and 2020 models. head turner until now naka overlanding set up na din kasi. P.S toyota fortuner owner din ako
Ford Ranger 2021 XLS lang nakuha ko noong 2020 walang problema hanggang ngayon. Every week iniikot ko North Mindanao walang kakaba kaba. Mga kakakila ko na may mga Toyota Hilux lumipat sa Ford. They said mas naging comfort sila sa Ford which is for me totoo naman talaga. If you have money Ford is giving you comfort and confidence. 👍
I had a bad experienced with my ford wildtrak 4x4 before. TUMIRIK sa NLEX. Ang nagpa tow ako to Ford Pampanga and cost me 80k for the transmission repair. Binenta ko na yun, from then on Wala na ako Tiwala sa any Ford brand. I switch to TOYOTA.
Same with my Ford transmission problem, less 3 years old pa lang. Buti na lang sagot pa ng insurance, inabot ng 100k Ang repairs. Iyak Ang insurance. 😢😢😢
Would've been better if the Hilux GR Sport has at least a stock all-terrain/mud tires like the Raptor...not to mention a bigger tire size (at least 33") to match perfectly with the bulging fender flares. But that's just me. 😄
My ford ranger 2.2 xls 3years stock , 4years remap by speedlab, mag 7 years na ok pa rin., depede lang cguro talaga sa pag alaga. Odo is 100km plus na.
Worth it po ang hilux, kasi maraming spare parts available sa pilipinas. At sa mekanico mas madami kesa po sa hightech na sasakyan medyo mahal ang labor at dipa marami mekaniko ng mga hightect na sasakyan

Toyota is cooking Hybrid Diesel for Hilux. More additional torque and horsepower from its electric motor aside from its diesel engine while maintaining good fuel efficiency.
I owned the previous gen of raptor sabi ko never to ford na pero mukhang kakainin ko yung sinabi ko dahil sa improvement ni raptor ngayon. But im still hoping and waiting for the 3.0L V6 ni Ranger Raptor 😅
Very much agree! Overall aspect, angat pa din talaga ang "form and function" ni Raptor compared sa Hilux GRS. Given na yan since mas bago din yung platform ni Raptor, the Hilux on the other hand is clearly showing its age. Until the next gen Hilux comes out (soon), si Raptor pa din ang undisputed leader sa performance pickup truck segment locally. Nevertheless, I'd say the HiLux GRS is the most refined Hilux to date. You cannot go wrong kahit ano sa dalawa ang mapili mo.
From experience din po... Never buying a ford or any american cars. Just watched @CarExpert dito sa youtube, australian based automotive channel, his newly bought ranger raptor just had his tranny replaced after just 3 months of daily use.. not to mention he also visited the casa many times for recalls😱 Hilux indeed has very bad specs compared to raptor but reliability, ford also has bigger issues. In my opinion, I would rather take less specs and more reliability than a lot of specs and a lot of issues.

I agree na mas maganda steering ng Ford and yung smoothness ng ride, pero di natin ma deny na iba talaga ang pagka robust ng Hi lux, and also the VALUE of it will be higher. One of the thing you need to consider is if you will use it will load, which do you think will be better? These are pick up cars and not a regular automobile.
I would say ill go with Toyota GRS Hi Lux, idealy the parts are cheaper and easy to find. i can somehow use the price difference for some upgrades to get the best suspension. The apocalypse 6x6 Hellfire will baby these 2 😅 kidding aside, good take TeamDy TV ride safe
I’m really liking the Ranger Raptor and my eyes are set on it for the 2024 model, however there are a lot of naysayers like it’s unreliable. Seems to me, the negative feedback only exists only in the PH. Now why is that so? The 2024 GRS looks tacky esp the fender flares lol!
Just sharing…we owned 2 ford vehicles and each of them had the same problem…transmission. Lucky are those who haven’t experienced that transmission problem…Again, I’m just sharing based on my experience.

If you talk about features, comfort and tech, no other ute in that category can compare with ford Raptor, hindi hamak. But people are hesitant to buy due to its Reliability issues, market resale value its lesser compare to toyota and more expensive to fix. It is also expensive to own. I don’t think Ford will improve the reliability issue because almost all Ford cars has reliability issues. It is the way Ford make a car. If ford can make car like Toyota, then they will improve reliability. Its named Ford Ranger but the body/chassis are mazda, the engine is Land Rover. Sharing tech with Volkswagen. It is very much engineering issue. Toyota is different. They are independent car maker, all the design, parts and engineering are made and designed by toyota. there are also a lot of OEM Toyota aftermarket parts designed by toyota itself to reduce maintenance cost. If you are looking for more of luxurious ute and not worrying how expensive maintenance, reliability and resale value. Get a Ford Ranger Raptor. If you want a ute that can bring you home, load tons rubbish, pull a tree, rescue another car, with solid reliability, no headache on parts, cheaper to maintain. All rounder ute. Get a Hilux. It is a legendary tough as nails, real Truck, designed to last. That’s what Hilux is.
Sir how about acceleration delay? Sino sa dalawang pick up ang aggressive engine? I mean pag apak sa gas dapat aarangkada agad. Ford everest 2018 model 2.2 engine owner din kasi ako pero ang big problem ko is delayed ang acceleration specially kapag nakafull stop at sa akyatan. Nag aalangan ako sa ford raptor 2.0 engine bi turbo kung aggressive ang engine and if no delay. Thanks sa sagot Sir.
GRS looks tacky and awkward. Overpriced for what you’re getting on 2024. Hands down the Ranger Raptor though they’re not on the same league so you really cannot compare them head to head. Aesthetic, comfort and tech, Ranger Raptor takes the cake!
Honestly tama ung review mo sir eh, ford really has a good ride feel compared to other cars. Though I don't think I would agree dun sa resolving issues if may lumabas. Traumatizing ung bumili ka ng sasakyan 3k plng millage d mo na magamit tapos na paso na warranty mo hndi pa din naayos. Mas gustuhin ko peace of mind na hndi palos ung mabili sasakyan kahit matagtag pa yan atleast nagagamit. Ecosport owner, from experience sinumpa ko tlga hndi nko bibili ng ford ever :))
Ang pogi din talaga ni raptor so kung kaya mo naman maintenance and all kasi madami ka pera then yes go for RAPTOR pero kung practical ka namang tao, yes go for HILUX for longevity.

Pickup trucks are on a ladder frame chassis, some ride harshness is to be expected. Eor aesthetics, the Ranger Raptor takes the cake.

i have tried Toyota for 30 years and i like particularly its reliability and after sales service. Madali ang maintenance.

Suggest ko na try riding the second row seat. For both units. Try going around the city and NLEX, that's were you can feel the difference.
Tama ka jan may raptor kapatid q swabi talaga pag sa likud ka sasakay. Compare sa Hilux masakit sa katawan bounce2 ka talaga

Very much agree! Overall aspect, angat pa din talaga ang "form and function" ni Raptor compared sa Hilux GRS. Given na yan since mas bago din yung platform ni Raptor, the Hilux on the other hand is clearly showing its age. Until the next gen Hilux comes out (soon), si Raptor pa din ang undisputed leader sa performance pickup truck segment locally. Nevertheless, I'd say the HiLux GRS is the most refined Hilux to date. You cannot go wrong kahit ano sa dalawa ang mapili mo.

Just watched @CarExpert dito sa youtube, australian based automotive channel, his newly bought ranger raptor just had his tranny replaced after just 3 months of daily use.. not to mention he also visited the casa many times for recalls😱
Hilux indeed has very bad specs compared to raptor but reliability, ford also has bigger issues.
In my opinion, I would rather take less specs and more reliability than a lot of specs and a lot of issues.
What would be the estimated cost of the Fox shox service for the Raptor? If my Fox Fork for mountainbike already is expensive, what about the cost for 4 shocks of the Raptor?
I read or watched somewhere that the Raptor suspension (not just the Fox shox) alone costs 300k. Not very sure about this data.

I ordered the ford Raptor 2024 edition V6 twin turbo Lightning blue colour @ 98K Australian dollar which is around 3.6 million pesos if converted. Why is it the raptor there in the philippines comes in a lower cost? If im not mistaken just around 2.3M pesos

Last 2 years we have ford, sobrang sakit sa ulo even yung casa di nila ma solve yung problem, kahit ano nalang yung diagnosis nalang sila. Ff binenta nalang namin.

The hilux keeps beeping when you put it into 4L kasi hindi ka nag neutral before engaging it. Technically naka H4 ka lang nun😅. Dapat alam din ng mga sumasamang agent sa test drive mga ganung bagay. Parang hanggang papel lang alam nila about sasakyan.

You don't even need L4 on those tiny mud area, 2H will do it. Try it in a more muddy climb off road environment to get a better test result.
One of the thing you need to consider is if you will use it will load, which do you think will be better? These are pick up cars and not a regular automobile.

I’m really liking the Ranger Raptor and my eyes are set on it for the 2024 model, however there are a lot of naysayers like it’s unreliable. Seems to me, the negative feedback only exists only in the PH. Now why is that so? The 2024 GRS looks tacky esp the fender flares lol!
You can check fords 10r80 trans going bad in the us..i hope this ranger raptor now has different or upgraded trans here in the ph🙏

Just sharing…we owned 2 ford vehicles and each of them had the same problem…transmission. Lucky are those who haven’t experienced that transmission problem…Again, I’m just sharing based on my experience.

But people are hesitant to buy due to its Reliability issues, market resale value its lesser compare to toyota and more expensive to fix.

I don’t think Ford will improve the reliability issue because almost all Ford cars has reliability issues.
It is the way Ford make a car. If ford can make car like Toyota, then they will improve reliability.
Its named Ford Ranger but the body/chassis are mazda, the engine is Land Rover. Sharing tech with Volkswagen. It is very much engineering issue.
Toyota is different. They are independent car maker, all the design, parts and engineering are made and designed by toyota. there are also a lot of OEM Toyota aftermarket parts designed by toyota itself to reduce maintenance cost.
If you are looking for more of luxurious ute and not worrying how expensive maintenance, reliability and resale value. Get a Ford Ranger Raptor.
If you want a ute that can bring you home, load tons rubbish, pull a tree, rescue another car, with solid reliability, no headache on parts, cheaper to maintain. All rounder ute. Get a Hilux.

Sir how about acceleration delay? Sino sa dalawang pick up ang aggressive engine? I mean pag apak sa gas dapat aarangkada agad. Ford everest 2018 model 2.2 engine owner din kasi ako pero ang big problem ko is delayed ang acceleration specially kapag nakafull stop at sa akyatan. Nag aalangan ako sa ford raptor 2.0 engine bi turbo kung aggressive ang engine and if no delay. Thanks sa sagot Sir.

Honestly tama ung review mo sir eh, ford really has a good ride feel compared to other cars. Though I don't think I would agree dun sa resolving issues if may lumabas. Traumatizing ung bumili ka ng sasakyan 3k plng millage d mo na magamit tapos na paso na warranty mo hndi pa din naayos. Mas gustuhin ko peace of mind na hndi palos ung mabili sasakyan kahit matagtag pa yan atleast nagagamit. Ecosport owner, from experience sinumpa ko tlga hndi nko bibili ng ford ever :))
