Only problem is the buying things for other people stuff. I've seen this argument a lot but that's like saying if you make money and don't decide to be a minimalist and then give all money that doesn't go go your food and house to charity then you are a bad person. Come on let's be real the average person doesn't just on a normal basis give money to charity all the time or shower their parents in it. Besides a lot of the stuff can be resold right now to make that money back or wait and in maybe 2 years time be worth more. Same here, I went to a boarding school for two years and about half of the students there came from extremely wealthy backgrounds. What I found so disturbing was that about 90% of those kids were the most uneducated people I’ve ever met that were the same age as me. They also had zero personality. What I also realized was that we had exchange students and our Chinese exchange students also came from extremely wealthy families. Compared to all of the other „rich kids“, they were the only group that seemed almost completely down to earth and like „normal“ people, even though they were shy they were always very kind.
