Don't waste your time. Feeder is going to last a year tops. You have to cover the mating surface of the thrower and barrel or it gets wet and clogs. Woods 2 Water Feeder is what you want.
Considering converting an extra deer feeder we don’t use into something like this. Seems like it’s essentially the same thing but just with a single hole for the food to shoot out of rather than a 360° spread
had to return mine. did not work anything like yours. Kept jamming up and wouldn't even shoot corn out (which is what it's meant for). Wondering why yours worked so well.
Mine works great other than raccoons getting into it. I plan on upgrading to the Texas Hunter eventually. It’s definitely a better machine, but with a higher price tag.
I closed the valve on a 6 acre inducement on may 5th last year (2023) I tried the moultrie ....I am not too pleased with the results...I just ordered the texas hunter we will see
That feeder is borderline trash. The food molded bad and clogged because it was leaking around the hopper base. I had to seal it up really good. The lid Also had a leak around the plug on top of the handle. It doesn’t throw very far. I wasted several bags of food trying to fix all the issues. I got what I paid for. Now that I’ve corrected all the issues it’s “ok”. I guess in the long run it cost a lot less than the Texas feeder but at the cost of time and aggravation. Also the tractor supply feed is prone to mold in itself. Aqua max and optimal resulted in zero mold.
Thank you brother. My minds made up.
No problem pal! I’ve been running this feeder for 4 years now. Still works great.

Heck yeah! I’m pretty sure you can buy the bottom thrower.

Aw man that stinks! What issues were you having? That Texas hunter is going to be sweet.
@@TripleTAcres distance thrown and mold in the hopper
Dang! I had some mold on the bottom once and I took black duct tape to the seam that the auger attaches to the hopper. I haven’t had issues since.
UPS just droped the texas hunter off I will be gone for a couple of days but when I get it up and running ill let you know
@@garymorris2574 heck yeah!
How far out was in throwing the feed and would it handle corn?
I’d say it was throwing out 10-12 feet. It will definitely throw corn. That’s what it’s actually designed for.
How long did it take to grow your fish after you started feeding?
They doubled in size in one year. In two years they are trophy sized. Feeding them is a game changer.

I had to make similar modifications. I haven’t had any problems since. Texas hunters are definitely way better. But the price gap is so huge.
