Surely, as a foreigner in England I have a right to be governed in England by those capable of governing and those governing for the benefit of all of England's people. Johnson governed England just, solely for his own benefit, he tricked his acquaintances and colleagues in such a way that they have all, that's every one of them, lost credibility, thier position and thier honour. He must surely be punished in the most severe way possible within the law and also outside of the same laws that he is trying to use to protect his dirty arse.

EDIT: People who earn lower salaries are, as in this case, entitled to benefits to top up their income, they cannot survive without it. The girl stitched up by Stratton was legitimately claiming benefits.

Revisiting this today. Watched the whole thing at the time. The thing that stayed with me through all of this is the fact that Johnson obviously felt that because he thought something - it must be the case for all. In his mind he was 100% correct and therefore he could not be wrong - despite evidence to the contrary. This wasn't a stitch-up. It was the balancing of fact against fiction. I understand the committee's decision was unanimous despite their poles apart politics. Johnson ran out of road. His art of speaking counts for nothing when it comes to truth versus lies. No matter who you are - in the end that catches up with you. His argument that his misremembering things wouldn't matter because he felt people would accept he was following all guidance.....when at his parties and that behaviour was acceptable. I'm glad he has gone but don't forget who put him there and who enabled his lies and deceit.

To them, by nature of them thinking or doing it, MAKES it correct. ‘I am the state!’ A minor detail but a massive point of comparison between how the two of them think, and also act when they’re brought to account - they genuinely just seem incapable of understanding it, and in Johnson’s case that same state of mind we know goes all the way back to his childhood. We're in Leicestershire and I had my first baby during lockdown, he was born with breathing difficulties and spent a week in NICU, I had had an emergency section and my partner was only allowed to stay for the physical birth and had to leave afterwards. It was horrendous, trying to pick him up and feed him after surgery, being wheeled up and down to nicu by porters while his poor dad stayed outside facetiming us, it was the worst, lowest point when it should have been the highest of our lives.
We were in some lockdown or another for almost the first year of my sons life. For the first 5 months, he wasn't held by anyone except me and my partner, except my mum when we later formed a bubble. My partner went back to work, no mum groups were open, health visitor's didnt visit, family couldn't come and help or visit.. it was lonely and scary and the painful trying to recover alone with a newborn and manage all the scary parts of having a first baby with only being able to leave a vm on the health visitors phone and hoping for a call back.
Hes a happy, sociable, intelligent 3 year old now who loves his family and nursery friends and things are brilliant now however, he was and we were robbed of this time of life while we listened to and followed the guidance and rules given to us.
