  • Today I am renewing the Studebaker Golden Hawk. The model is very rare, so I was glad to get it. I decided to unconventionally cover this model with 24K gold flakes because I have always had a great love for Studebaker. You can turn on subtitles in your language in the video. We need to know that this company has created a lot of really great cars over the years. The name Golden Hawk prompted me to do just that. In this episode, I did not use a primer, but a special glue for sticking gold petals. I protected the whole thing with a clear acrylic varnish. The gold application process is very laborious and the applied structure differs from conventional paint. Therefore, not everyone can like it. I made the missing tires from black-dyed molding polyurethane, and the box resembled the original one used to sell this model. Thank you for watching the movie, I publish videos with the repair of cars on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

I was just scrolling through CZcams videos when I saw the Studebaker. Then I read the caption.....and I said to myself, "Naaah. He's not going to actually put real GOLD on the car?" And then I watched you do it. Wow. Now you've got a true gold Goldenhawk. When you say it took 4 hours to get it right....I believe you. Great Original Job. Chalon Aubrey.

Paweł, jestem zachwycona, zdecydowanie kciuki ode mnie za to 👍🏼.
Bardzo dziękuję za udostępnienie. Miłego weekendu dla ciebie i twojej rodziny i pozostań bezpieczny i zdrowy.

Here you can take the concept of the "Golden Hawk" literally...😜🤣
Excellent work my dear Paul. I can imagine it takes hours to apply the gold foil and I must admit I wouldn't have the dexterity to do it. The result is fantastic and unique in every way. 👍🏼😎
Paul, I'm thrilled, definitely a thumbs up from me for this 👍🏼.
Thank you so much for sharing. Have a great weekend to you and your family and stay safe and sound.
Keep up the good work, mate.👍🏼

Hier kann man den Begriff vom "Golden Hawk" wörtlich nehmen...😜🤣
Exzellente Arbeit mein lieber Paul.
    Mach weiter so mein Freund.👍🏼

    • @randytaylor1258
      @randytaylor1258 Před 2 lety +2

Caustic soda is extremely volatile. It will eat plastic for lunch. Paint stripper will take paint off plastic -- try it on a spare body first, as a test. Chrome plating will come off plastic parts after a bleach bath of a few hours.
      Be safe.

So far, my caustic soda has never eaten anything made of plastic. To be sure, you can try a cooler temperature bath rather than a boiling solution. However, when it comes to chrome parts, an ultrasonic cleaner removes chrome perfectly. Kind regards

if all else fails, Carsoin Model Sports sells a paint remover specifically made for lexane and polystyrene. I used it on an ancient siku plastic model slobbered into next tuesday with modelers paint, and it worked great. put it on and carefully scrape the paint off... and the old plastic is still alive.
