It certainly is possible, but we would need a model trillions of times more complex than our current ones. We would need to map out the human brain (which will take us at least 200-1000 years or even more) and then adquire the technology for it to work like a natural brain.

In the Matrix movie people are batteries for the a.i.

If I may, electronics use electricity for signal and power. Light based technology uses light for signal and power. It's a much more efficient technology that will replace a large part of current technology. So it's essentially replacing electrons with protons.

Frank Herbert saw this a long time ago and incorporated it into Dune with the Butlerian proscription against thinking machines.

@@prometheus9096 No, the AI took control of humanity _thousands of years_ prior to the first book. Frank Herbert never got to expand on that thread much further.
In the extended Universe created by Herbert's son-and I believe he based this on his notes his father left for potential future novels-Omnius is the SkyNet type AI that enslaves humanity.
It controls cyborgs like Agamemnon, who only _initially_ controlled it. It tricks them and seizes control, a scenario that may well happen in real life.

If Artificial Intelligence can increase intelligence exponentially, there is no reason to think that it could not eventually create another Universe, and thereby, that a similar process is what potentially created the Universe we now experience.
Well it's uncharted territory so whether we can or can't create one is still a mystery. Though one thing is certain, based upon the laws of thermodynamics, our universe shouldn't even exist to begin with. And yet it does. If ai is done correctly, and it's capable of thinking in the same way as us but to a much higher degree, then we'll surely be able to get a better idea of how everything came into existence, and how to replicate that ourselves.
AI can't create dirt, it will never create matter. Only God can, AI is a sign of his return and I know I sound like those crazy religious people but it't true. The time is coming. Take it or leave it, but remember the consequences of your choice.

Idk… what about conjecture or precise context and conjecture with emotion? I just don’t think AI is ever getting there. It can do mechanical and mathematical stuff and even word algorithmic stuff rapidly, but the subtleties of conjecture context, combined with motion momentum tone. It might seem like it’s got it but English language alone I mean you could say, so many subtle things that obviously means something to another human being that I find hard to believe an AI would be able to pick that up. We don’t understand that algorithm, but we understand how to do it when communicating and interacting.
It certainly is possible, but we would need a model trillions of times more complex than our current ones. We would need to map out the human brain (which will take us at least 200-1000 years or even more) and then adquire the technology for it to work like a natural brain.
He believes in the spell of evolution. Abstract thought now that is something we should worry about because it’s out of control we believe in things that are unbelievable or just not real.
