Harry protected Peter from Sirius and Remus when his disguise as Scabbers was revealed. Grateful, he then swore his life to Harry. That is why he hesitated to kill him at Malfoy Manor after having his wand taken away. Harry reminded him of the debt as he was strangling him and his hesitation caused the hand to turn on Peter and strangle him to death, a failsafe by Voldemort.

Snape is so courageous. Being a double agent facing off the deatheaters was so dangerous for him. I also like the way Bellatrix does what he tells her to do, ie puts down the thing which doesn't belong to her.
God-Emperor of Mankind I bet all of your school teachers just "tortured" you too please go look up what the word torture means, you're using it out of context child.
I think its technically a triple agent since Voldemort sent him to spy on Dumbledore and Dumbledore sent him to spy on Voldemort and now my head hurts.
They were in school together (even though Rowling made a mistake in the dates and the ages don't make sense). Bellatrix was part of Snape's circle of friends, which is even brought up by Lily in the Prince's tale.
this is by far one of the best and most powerful scenes in any of the Harry Potter movies. 1) because, obviously, the subject is extremely important to the Draco plot line and the series as a whole and, 2) you have three supremely talented actors in one scene in a tiny room. the tension is almost palpable.
analothor XD Because u ship Bellamort I'll give you another chance- The Bellatrix Prayer, to be said before watching Harry Potter, meetings with fellow death eaters, or when ever you choose. Our Bellatrix, who art in azkaban, Deathly hallowed be thy Dark Lord's name. Thy Death Eaters come, Thy killings will be done, On earth as it is in the most Noble and Ancient House of Black Give us this day our daily pillage. And forgive us our unforgiveable curses, As we torture those who trespass against us. And lead the Dark Lord's minions into temptation, And deliver us to evil. For thine is the Dark Lord, the power and the immortality. For ever and ever, due to unspeakable horcruxes. AVADA KEDAVRA!
In this whole scene Snape didn't lie. He said he played his part well. He did. He said he has deceived one of the greatest wizards of all time (Voldemort). And he said Dumbledore is a great wizard. That is also true.
Even for the people who don't like Severus as a character, you have to appreciate all the danger he puts himself in for the sake of other people. He could have completely refused his offer from Narcissa but he didn't. He's adding even more effort and stress to his already impossible job, but he did it anyway.
I think it’s awesome that Bellatrix is so heartless and ruthless yet she is so protective of her sister and her nephew that she is willing to go as far as it takes to keep them safe. BTW Slytherin pride 🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍. I also love how Bella calls Narcissa cissy
"He's just a boy!" Once again, mother's love. Narcissa is my favourite mother in HP. All of the death eaters just want to serve Voldemort. She cared about draco more than any other person
Yes, but unfortunately Draco and Lucius are the only person she cares about. It's not healthy to not care about other people's wellbeing than your own family.
@@harrypotteredits_1370 Julie means that she doesn't care bout others but only her own family. She only wants her family alive and (most probably) doesn't mind killing other people.
+Emily Dominko I kinda like them all. Differently, of course. And then again I don't. But it seems like all of J.K.Rowling's darker characters have got something "appealing". I think she wants to show us how dangerous a predator's glamour can be.
Shreya Singh Honestly youre right. Book Narcissa is still awful. For me though I loved film Narcissa. I can see this version of Narcissa mending ways with her sister in a small way. Like how Harry and Dudley did. However who knows we may have not have seen if she held the same kind of prejudice sentiment she held in the books. 🤷🏻♀️
There are so many books in snape's house!! His house is literally filled with books!! I love this room's aesthetics. No wonder he's so smart and one of the greatest wizards!
1. Snape hates Wormtail because he was the one who betrayed Lily to Voldemort. 2. Wormtail was suffocated by the silver hand Voldemort gave him, at Malfoy Manor, when he feelt remorse and probably wanted to help Harry. I suggest that you read the Harry Potter book's there you will find all the answers.
That wasn't remorse, according to Harry Potter Wiki, the hand had a will of it's own and was designed to strangle Wormtail should any weakness to Voldemort be shown, and it simply perceived Wormtail's hesitation to choke Harry when reminded of the life debt (which is a powerful magical bond)
I think Snape is slightly laughing inside and thinking they are all fools because Dumbledore already asked him to kill him way before this vow lol At first he was like ... What? Umm ok whatever you say Then here he is like... Yup! Got it! Will do.
I feel like they downplayed Narcissa's desperation in this scene. In the book, if I remember correctly, she was sobbing and even kissed Severus's hand at one point (it might've been when he agreed to protect Draco). I think they should've amped up the emotions a bit more for this scene in the film, to be honest.
This scene was so much better in the book... I mean Narcisa was whipping desperately showing how much she cared for Draco. And Bella made much more questions to Snape.
Bellatrix's whispery, soft voice in this clip is somehow comforting...which is disturbing, considering she's a psychopathic and sadistic Death Eater. 😶
You can tell the Malfoys are starting to hate Voldemort. They screwed up with the Riddle Diary and the Prophecy. With Lucius in prison, Draco is forced to join the Death Eaters as a punishment. Narcissa saved the family from going to Azkaban. Lucius had the power, but she made some of the biggest decisions for the family. Draco planned to attend Durmstrang, but Narcissa wanted him to go to Hogwarts so he could be close. If Draco attended Durmstrang, he would not have been Snape protégée and he would've carried out the mission flawlessly (assuming he transferred to Hogwarts).
Actually, Narcissa is the smart one out of the Malfoy clan. Narcissa saw Voldemort's branding Draco as a Death Eater as nothing more than revenge on Lucius for destroying the diary and getting caught at the Ministry of Magic in Order of the Phoenix--which is why she went to Snape because she knew it was plain foolish of Draco to take on Dumbledore, who is regarded as a powerful wizard in the books.
Shanghai Noon Yes, Dumbledore did have an infinite amount of wisdom when it came to the youth; everything he preaches to them in the books is meant to lead them toward acting on good and taking plight against forces that intend on destroying that goodness--which is what he negotiated with Draco, and he succeeded! In the end, he saved Draco's soul.
And the thing I love about the films is that we see Narcissa hold the fort down which was due to the amazing acting of Helen McCrory! I like her in the books but she was always so emotional and didn't do much until the very end, but in the film she gives no fucks and is always on guard.
It's not so much that they hate Voldemort because they still believe in his cause of pure-blood supremacy. It's just because they've fallen out of his favour, they totally fear him. Before this point Lucius Malfoy would have considered himself practically Voldemort's best friend but now his family are as low as Wormtail.
This is why Alan Rickman was such a great choice for Snape. He not only played his part well, but in this scene, Snape is so incredibly deceptive to Bella. Notice how from the time she says "Swear to it. Make the Unbreakable Vow" through to the end, Snape has that look on his face that says "....Fuck!" and Bella grinned, thinking as though she checkmated Snape for the sake of Voldemort. But Snape knew the true endgame well enough to not only keep his composure, but utterly deceive Bella with that look of [false] apprehension.
Snape really is in that role a lot where he swears complete loyalty to a mother to protect her son. I think it's probably very interesting to see how it relates to his childhood experiences. But he is a 100% loyal it's amazing since these aren't even his kids. Snape is such an interesting character. 💛
I loved Helen McCrory, she was so talented and seemed like such a lovely person, it's unfair. I'm hoping her family gets through this. And fuck cancer.
You know what’s sad? A lot of these actors are dead now. Narcissa, Snape, Dumbledore, Hagrid, Vernon. I’m grateful for the work that they did for these movies.
So sad considering that two of the three actors in this scene are no longer with us... Hopefully we'll see HBC in many more roles in the future. RIP Helen McCrory

I cannot believe that the next time I watch this scene in Harry Potter all I'll be thinking is that Alan Rickman and Helen McCrory are not with us anymore. Although they both were not entirely main characters, especially Narcissa, both actors played the parts perfectly and we fans cannot imagine anyone else in their place. Narcissa and Severus are both unique and special characters which despite the actors not being with us anymore, we will truly cherish their work forever. Thank you both! Our wands are raised today on 16th April and forever.
What do you think Snape wears when he goes out furniture shopping, like for his blinds and desk lamp? Can't imagine him casually in just jeans and a jumper.
whatever it is e wears, is black that's for sure jajaja but anyway if you take off the cloack his regular wizard clothes are not that weird, black trousers and black jacket whithout the clock it could pass for muggle clothing...maybe some kind of gothic style
Well i wander what he eats, if he cooks, cleans the house, drinks tea. Every ordinary daily thing we do seems so strange to be made by him. Can you imagine him brushing his hair and eating breakfast? Thats too human looking thing for Snape. He's over it xd
Aleksandra Peterwas he uses magic, but for food since he is in a muggle zone and judging by the lamp he has probabily a phone too, he orders delivery food XDD now imagine that hahahaha
i'm always impressed with how fleshed out the characters feel even with so little screentime, i think its merit to the script but also the actors that portray them as if they had an entire life in that existence
Bellatrix is my favorite character in this series, but one of her biggest mistakes EVER was calling Snape a coward, because he did SO much for this operation, risking his life throughout its entirety. Snape is many things, but ANY true fans of HP know, that he is NOT a coward
" So well, I've deceived one of the greatest wizards of all time." Bellatrix- "Hrrrrrghhh!" I love how she just keeps wandering around like the bratty 5 year old, she just nailed this scene.
I just realized how much self-control Snape must have had to allow Lily's betrayer to even be in his house.

@@Lenoure well in the books Bellatrix Tells him the reasons why she doesn't trust him and he gives her the savagest replies possible
I love that in all of Bellatrix’s scenes, she’s either yelling her head off or whispering super slowly....it just shows how much of a maniac and a villain she is...
Snaps was a clever man. He knew this was his death sentence
It is Snape
Snape’s so good 😊
It wasn't actually. Snape already knew that he had to kill dumbeldore
Snape’s a bad ass
Just the fact that Snape apparently knows Bellatrix well enough to call her Bella without anyone minding is hilarious to me.
They might be an evil blood purity cult. But Snape is and will always be the teacher.
Snape book didnt call hẻ like that
@@erikthomsen4768I mean… Bella is older than him.
Wh
They were in school together (even though Rowling made a mistake in the dates and the ages don't make sense). Bellatrix was part of Snape's circle of friends, which is even brought up by Lily in the Prince's tale.
this is by far one of the best and most powerful scenes in any of the Harry Potter movies. 1) because, obviously, the subject is extremely important to the Draco plot line and the series as a whole and, 2) you have three supremely talented actors in one scene in a tiny room. the tension is almost palpable.
Harrison Lang well said well said.
"Hes just a boy" its soooo sad
It is man the saddest 😭💔
Raise your wand for Helen McCrory. Such a powerful scene. Rest In Peace.
This whole scene shouts
FORESHADOWING
Right in our faces
fuck the elder wand
bellatrix is defiantly the main villainess in the film
And shouldn't the main villain and villainess be shipped? Exactly, so WHY WAS TOM CONCEIVED UNDER A FRIGGEN LOVE POTION!!!!!!!!!!!! ERRRGH!
Minty ThePony because shipping is the real magic :D
analothor Ah, a Bellamort shipper, now for the final test- recite the Bellatrix Prayer! :p
...
no, seriously, or i'll torture you like Hermione was!
Minty ThePony err down with mudbloods….?
*runs
analothor XD Because u ship Bellamort I'll give you another chance-
The Bellatrix Prayer, to be said before watching Harry Potter, meetings with fellow death eaters, or when ever you choose.
Our Bellatrix, who art in azkaban,
Deathly hallowed be thy Dark Lord's name.
Thy Death Eaters come,
Thy killings will be done,
On earth as it is in the most Noble and Ancient House of Black
Give us this day our daily pillage.
And forgive us our unforgiveable curses,
As we torture those who trespass against us.
And lead the Dark Lord's minions into temptation,
And deliver us to evil.
For thine is the Dark Lord, the power and the immortality.
For ever and ever, due to unspeakable horcruxes.
AVADA KEDAVRA!
In this whole scene Snape didn't lie. He said he played his part well. He did. He said he has deceived one of
the greatest wizards of all time (Voldemort).
Bella had always called her sister Cissy only
@love Live Lover yes very cute
They stick together like slytherins 😌💚🐍
So cute and killed her niece 😑😑😢😢
In the book she didn't give a fuck about Draco's death sentence. She said she would be glad if her child die for Voldemort.
I don't think I ever really understood before, that Bellatrix is Draco's aunt.
+TheScorpio Vampyre Andromeda. That makes Draco and Tonks first cousins
Draco kind of got fucked by being born into his family lol
+Savannah White a crazy pureblood supramacist father and then an aunt whos is exactly the same who also got married to someone who was the same
+TheScorpio Vampyre And Cousins of Sirius and Regulus Black
And Delphi mother.
Helen McCrory and Helena Bonham-Carter: two British powerhouses.
Unfortunately, on 16th April 2021, the day after Emma Watson turned 31, one of the two powerhouses felt
put it down bella we mustn't touch what isn't yours
The Name's Revan, Darth Revan nope after awhile i kicked his ass...

Who else watched this scene and was like:
BOOKS! LOOK AT ALL THOSE BOOKS!
O, hey, there's Snape
BOOKS! ALL THOSE BOOKS!
me
pretty much Bella in this scene tbh
And I realize a whole lot of evil shits.
I do love a man with collections of books. I can’t be the only one that finds a guy who loves reading attractive.
dude's a professor, he needs those
0:56 i Love how Snape changes the subject slightly without anyone noticing it
"He's just a boy!" Once again, mother's love. Narcissa is my favourite mother in HP. All of the death eaters just want to serve Voldemort. She cared about draco more than any other person
In the book Narcisa totally loses control and starts crying IT was Kinda of awkward to read
Yes, but unfortunately Draco and Lucius are the only person she cares about. It's not healthy to not care about other people's wellbeing than your own family.
@@juliusroman8616 what does that even mean
@@harrypotteredits_1370 Julie means that she doesn't care bout others but only her own family. She only wants her family alive and (most probably) doesn't mind killing other people.
Helena Bonham Carter’s sass while playing characters like Bellatrix gets me every time. She puts so much into playing her roles.
I love Narcissa! She's my fave out of the Malfoys...besides Draco of course!
+Emily Dominko I kinda like them all. Differently, of course. And then again I don't. But it seems like all of J.K.Rowling's darker characters have got something "appealing". I think she wants to show us how dangerous a predator's glamour can be.
Narcissa is sweet
Shreya Singh Honestly youre right. Book Narcissa is still awful. For me though I loved film Narcissa. I can see this version of Narcissa mending ways with her sister in a small way. Like how Harry and Dudley did.
However who knows we may have not have seen if she held the same kind of prejudice sentiment she held in the books. 🤷🏻♀️
100th like :)
Emily Bennington I like Narcissa a lil bit but Draco and Lucius rule!
There are so many books in snape's house!! His house is literally filled with books!! I love this room's aesthetics. No wonder he's so smart and one of the greatest wizards!
I think its cute that Bellatrix calls Narcissa "Cissy".
I love how Snape reprimands Bella as if she were a child
she is a bit childlike in a way
1. Snape hates Wormtail because he was the one who betrayed Lily to Voldemort.
2. Wormtail was suffocated by the silver hand Voldemort gave him, at Malfoy Manor, when he feelt remorse and probably wanted to help Harry.
I suggest that you read the Harry Potter book's there you will find all the answers.
because he owed harry for setting him free back in book 3
That wasn't remorse, according to Harry Potter Wiki, the hand had a will of it's own and was designed to strangle Wormtail should any weakness to Voldemort be shown, and it simply perceived Wormtail's hesitation to choke Harry when reminded of the life debt (which is a powerful magical bond)
I think Snape is slightly laughing inside and thinking they are all fools because Dumbledore already asked him to kill him way before this vow lol
At first he was like ... What? Umm ok whatever you say
Then here he is like... Yup! Got it! Will do.
Why do you think he agreed?
I feel like they downplayed Narcissa's desperation in this scene. In the book, if I remember correctly, she was sobbing and even kissed Severus's hand at one point (it might've been when he agreed to protect Draco). I think they should've amped up the emotions a bit more for this scene in the film, to be honest.
Ik it was so awkward to read that
It was probably meant to be uncomfortable, haha!
@@marnistone6153 do u still feel uncomfortable reading it or did u ever feel uncomfortable reading that chapter
@@anushkaauddy2126 i did a little lol (i just read the book today)
This scene was so much better in the book... I mean Narcisa was whipping desperately showing how much she cared for Draco. And Bella made much more questions to Snape.
Anyone here cares
There's only so much that the film-makers could fit into this scene. They did well considering it was under 4 minutes long.
0:44 I love , how Snape slammed the door on this traitor's face.
Lol
Helena Bonam Carter and Helen Macrory play very good!
Seeing Alan Rickman and Helen Mccroy on screen together really gets to me. Both of top quality in the acting world. They are missed indefinitely x
Bellatrix's whispery, soft voice in this clip is somehow comforting...which is disturbing, considering she's a psychopathic and sadistic Death Eater. 😶
Yea usually she has a very werid Kinda of vocie
But Lucius did not screw up with the diary. He gave it to Jenny. Harry was the one who stopped Tom Riddle. The Malfoys had nothing to do with that.
1:23 I CANT😂😂 her noise
She's with snape now, rest easy :(
i burst out laughing in the theater after he told worm tail to run along, and i was so loud and the only one laughing
Oh my fave line is also, “put it down Bella we mustn’t touch what isn’t ours” lol I also just love her reaction and the way she drops it!!
Bellatrix randomly touching snapes things and snapes reaction r both so funny
Snape really is in that role a lot where he swears complete loyalty to a mother to protect her son. I think it's probably very interesting to see how it relates to his childhood experiences. But he is a 100% loyal it's amazing since these aren't even his kids. Snape is such an interesting character. 💛
1:23 THE SNORING SOUND LMFAOOOOOO
Can't believe it's been 7 years of this movie, I was like 11 or 12 when it came out
C7F5C 97 i just born when it came out😅
I love Bella's whispering. I feel weak.
the acting of the 3 actors in here are just superb!!!
RIP Alan Rickman you will be deeply missed. /*
Rip Helen mcCroy too
Seeing this again breaks my heart, the two angels together.
The contempt Bellatrix and Snape have for each other is delicious and rather telling.
Thank you Helen McCrory(Narcissa). We love you❣️
"Put it down Bella, we mustn't touch what isn't ours"
So sad considering that two of the three actors in this scene are no longer with us... Hopefully we'll see HBC in many more roles in the future. RIP Helen McCrory
The most beautiful memories and excellent two roles Narcissa and Severus and briliant legends Helen and Alan I love you forever and Miss you very much ... Unforgettable Helen and Alan and wonderful performance and the most brightest Stars of sky.... 💔🥺😭❤️🤩😍
I like the way Severus delivers the line "Take out your wand".
Who’s here after news that Helen McCrory has passed away? RIP to such a brilliant actress.
The asmr in the Harry potter films is amazing 😍😂
"Put it down, Bella, you are not to touch what isn't yours." LMFAO
RIP HELEN MCCRORY
I just love when Snape calls Bellatrix, “Bella” and I don’t know why
I cannot believe that the next time I watch this scene in Harry Potter all I'll be thinking is that Alan Rickman and Helen McCrory are not with us anymore. Although they both were not entirely main characters, especially Narcissa, both actors played the parts perfectly and we fans cannot imagine anyone else in their place. Narcissa and Severus are both unique and special characters which despite the actors not being with us anymore, we will truly cherish their work forever. Thank you both! Our wands are raised today on 16th April and forever.
Same here :(
I KNOW IM LOSING MY MIND.
Snape is arguably the most important character in the franchise, he surely is a main character
And now Hagrid is gone
I wanna visit Snapes home.
Yea me to
No One:
Like, litteraly no One:
Snape: *Dramatically folds his newpaper, revealing his resting POTTAH face*
What do you think Snape wears when he goes out furniture shopping, like for his blinds and desk lamp? Can't imagine him casually in just jeans and a jumper.
well with the addition of a white collar he could pass for a priest ,albeit a very scary one lol
I imagine if he did go out for groceries it would be in a black waistcoat and shirt
whatever it is e wears, is black that's for sure jajaja but anyway if you take off the cloack his regular wizard clothes are not that weird, black trousers and black jacket whithout the clock it could pass for muggle clothing...maybe some kind of gothic style
They look like they're getting married.
0809AriAri i thought that too
Even though Narcissa has a husband, but he's in Azkaban so she can freely cheat on him. :')
Lestrange is kind of hot.. am I the only one?
+Ghost Hoot fuck no i think she's stunning!
No
+Ghost Hoot You're definately not the only one... I'd show her my wand *Drops the Mic*
+Ghost Hoot Tom Felton (Draco) even used to have a massive crush on her lol. Idek y. ^^
She's hot... but I hate her guts
i'm always impressed with how fleshed out the characters feel even with so little screentime, i think its merit to the script but also the actors that portray them as if they had an entire life in that existence
Bellatrix is my favorite character in this series, but one of her biggest mistakes EVER was calling Snape a coward, because he did SO much for this operation, risking his life throughout its entirety. Snape is many things, but ANY true fans of HP know, that he is NOT a coward
Now they’re reunited again ❤️ RIP Helen McCrory and Alan Rickman 😇
I’m crying so much. Rest in peace, Helen 🕊
RIP Helen McCrory :(.
