    Very very cool video! I have just let go a 2013 RS6 (C7) with 130,000 miles (from new). I had this car for 9 years and loved it. It is brilliant for sure. Just be prepared for massive spend if you want to keep it nice. So I had FIVE disc and brakes replacement all around. That is nearly 3K a time. And 6 sets of tyres at about 250 per tyre! It is a great car, but if you see a bargain, and one that has had every done re service etc, be prepared to spend hugely unless you want to risk it going wrong. Oh, and the < 20 MPG. But it is a fab car for sure. Mark.

    • @alvarress

      Ok part of expenses on service tyres and brakes, did you came across any other big expenses on it during that time ?? I'm thinking to get one, service I can cover my self, and changing brakes too, I'm just worried about other stuff which are mentioned on website when you Google it with common issues for this car? Many thanks in advance for you help

      @@alvarress Bit late to the party, but I've just picked up a low mileage facelift 2016 RS6 and right away the high pressure fuel pumps need swapping out as there have been a few hard starts when hot and a smell of fuel in the oil. Very wel known issue on these cars, and it is an age related issue so even a low mileage car like mine needs doing after 8 years. Easy DIY but expect to pay around 3-400 quid per pump and around 120ish for oil+filter. I'd recommend just going with the hitachi branded pumps that can be found online cheaper than dealers as they are the OEM for Audi fuel pumps on these cars. Other preventative thing to keep in mind is ensuring the fuel injectors are cleaned with a decent brand fuel tank additive, couple of times a year should do it, along with ensuring to run good quality fuel, with 99ron being essential on a tuned car. Good luck if you have one by now!

    Nice video!! The turbo/oil strainer problem is being recalled now, and they are fitting a new and less restrictive oil strainer. If the turbos blows because of a clogged strainer, you will also get new turbos for free (Unless the car is tuned, then they will only cover a new oil strainer). One less expensive thing to worry about!

    • @ScottishCarClan
      @ScottishCarClan  Před rokem +2

      That’s great to hear. This particular car went through an engine too - you do wonder if the damage was done when the turbos went.

      How do I find out if this had been done?
      Also have for problems with my air ride suspension keeping at height, I also have noticed recently that some features on the vehicle (I.e when selected to have outdoorlights turn on when unlocking) they don’t come on. I have noticed that the coolant smell is becoming more noticeable and the front engine Bay Area feels as if it’s hotter than usual but no temperature change in the 😢speedometer area. I do no however my car was in the care of someone who if I had known wouldn’t have gone through had my vehicle for a week completing custom exterior work and I don’t trust that he hasn’t robbed or even possibly swapped out parts off of mine as he was initially well I g two similar cars. Hearing and start te have costs come in I’m wondering if there is a way I can identify if this has potentially happened ? Obviously if the worm has been completed by Audi is there a system I can get this information from or downloaded ?

    • @12bh8d2
      @12bh8d2 Před rokem

      Also I have noticed my sound system is not as it was like, and I’m pretty sure there is a plug missing from the rear amplifier area which I’m confident had something in there when I bought it. My radar detector bracket has comes loose and noticed one of the headlight screws. Weee finger tight, also under where I assume is my transmission is a ripped hole in the cover underneath the vehicle, any reason why that could be like that ? I have had an error come up regarding the misfire car running too lean ? Could like be an indicator of the fuel pumps and oil mixing ?

      @ProLexHD Před rokem

      @@12bh8d2 hey! I can't help you too much with the other problems unfortunately, but if you call your local Audi dealer then they should know if your oil strainer has been changed or not🙌 If it has not been changed yet, then they should be able to do it for free for you🙌

    Nice video! How can you tell if the rs6 is equipped with dcr in stead of air suspension since its optional?

    • @sarcastixx74
      @sarcastixx74 Před 6 měsíci +1

      I know this an old question but hopefully it helps! The non DRC equipped cars have a removable panel in the rear diffuser that houses the electrically retractable towbar, doesn't matter if the towbar itself isn't fitted but the panel definitely will as all non DRC cars have it. The exception is cars with the optional carbon pack, if it has a carbon diffuser then you're gonna have to go into the MMI to see if it has DRC or look at the option codes on the VIN sticker. Option code for DRC equipped cars is 2MC. Best visual clue apart from the diffuser is the shocks themselves, DRC shocks have a hydraulic pipe feed coming out the bottom of the strut base.

    Great video!
    I have dreamed about this car for many years, so now on saturday two days ago it ended with the trade of an Audi RS6 2013 Dynamic.
    The car has now had 7 owners, it has followed all services and is top equipped with dynamic, Miltek exhaust with downpipe and 22 "rims. 87,000km
    So after driving it for two days I do not feel anything negative. The only thing is that I think it gears a little slow? this applies when I drive calmly in the city / streets.
    Looks like you can a lot about this cars, i am living i norway, maybe i can call you on facetime one day so you maybe can tell me more about the car and what i should check out? Thanks :-)

    If one has ceramic brakes is that back and front? Any idea on costing of pads? What sort of mileage should the disks see out?
    Did they all have sunroofs as standard?
    Can tow bars be fitted? (I know random question but I mountain bike)
    Much obliged :)

      I've just replaced my pads on my 2016 R8 Plus with the ceramic discs - was quoted $2700 NZD (£1350) for just the fronts through Audi New Zealand.
      I got a set of genuine pads for £600 through a separate specialist.

  • @Mel1n1

    I just need to ask. I'm buying an Pantherblack C7.5 RS6 Performance -2018.
    Heard that most of the "Child-problems" of these cars are carried out and fixed on Performance and newer models.
    Mine is 100% stock, only exhaust.
    Driven long journeys, no hard drive at all, few owners and the guy having it today says it's been used as a cruiser and he knows basically all owners from new and saying that what he knows, it's never been launched.
    Adaptive airsuspension, towhook, comfortpackage, panoramtic sunroof, are just a few of its options.
    I'm hyped as hell!
    But I like to do stuff to my car, not tuning it, 605hp is enough for me and it is fitted with a Milltek catback and that's music in my ears.
    But, the air suspension. Is it reliable to lower these? Are these cars able to handle to be driven low or does it have some common issues with lowering and driveshafts etc take damage?
    I want a functional heigh obviously but on a carmeet or parking sometimes I would like to drop it down to the ground with help of the module. But is it safe to do this? Or does the original airsuspension take damage of being empty for a while?
    This is a dream come true, I'm picking it up in a week and been waiting for this moment for a long time now.

    • @ScottishCarClan
      @ScottishCarClan  Před 2 lety

      Hey Jimmy. Congrats on your purchase! I hope you are enjoying the car. As for lowering on the standard air suspension I’ve not seen any issue as a result of this. Just install the module and you’ll be looking good at those car shows!

    As much as I want to have one, this is another compromise car for me. It is not as fast and nor does it handle as well as a 911 Turbo. It doesn't have the cargo capacity of a HD truck so hauling something large is not possible. So that's where the beans gets squeezed. Audi has done an admirable job in bringing this car to market but I wouldn't buy one. I find that compromise cars are never truly satisfying as if you bought a car for its true purpose!!!
