They described Chris as "publicly assaulted and humiliated". Yeah he was assaulted but he wasnt humiliated by any means. He had an important job to do so he, literally, rolled with the punches and kept the show rolling. Personally I think he handled it perfectly. he acknowledged it, then finished the job he was there to handle and he did so with grace.

At no point did Chris Rock appear to be ashamed nor did he look foolish to me. No one can take your dignity or your self-respect, you have to lose it. Chris Rock never lost his dignity or his self-respect and he stayed composed the entire time. If anything it was Will Smith who was humiliated because he failed to maintain his dignity over what was a harmless joke that was not told with malicious intent.

If the people operating the whole event had taken some action…ANY action whatsoever, such as escorting Will out of the building by security, and not allowing him to accept his award, then the burden of responsibility to respond would not be on Chris Rock. The operators basically left Chris out in the cold as Chris took the blame 2 times for doing his job by being a comedian telling jokes and as a host by keeping the show going on for their sake. If Will Smith had slapped Amy Schumer, he would have been tackled by security and probably STILL be in jail. They basically said that it’s ok. Will’s video apology where he had to say..”ummmm…” before he said Chris’ name sounded like something he would say to one of his kids who took the car for a joyride without permission and got into an accident…” I’m here when you’re ready to talk”…leaving it up to Chris to reach out, again putting the burden on Chris.

Regardless of anyone's thoughts about Jada (I don't care much for her either), he stepped over a line, and he knew it. He even braced himself for it. For all the times Chris has disrespected Will with his jokes about his wife, Will could have warned him if he did it again... I don't think what Will did was right. It's kind of sad but my take on that apology was that it was fake it wasn't heartfelt. I love Chris Rock and I'm sorry that happened to him and I liked the way he kept his composure and kept it like hearted that was very professional about him this will probably not get smooth over for a while but that's the way it goes I guess
Alopecia comes in so many different ways but it's caused when the immune system attacks your hair follicles. I had it before and it caused bald spots in my head which I shaved my head, rubbed cream on it and it grew back, that was like 15 years ago. If you stare at jades hair she shows no signs of it at all, it would be crystal bald either entirely or in spots, she has no signs of bald patches or fully bald her hair is clearly there just really really short. Look at Dave Chappelle's head compared to hers, his head is how her head would look so I want to question that alopecia claim.
That was already addressed by her hair dresser. She suffered some very minor hair loss from weaves that were too tight and in too long.
She is rich enough not to make it look bad..you were broke.

He let his wife, who emasculated him his entire adult life, make him so feel so weak he had to take it out on another guy who deserves nothing but respect.
He humiliated a great guy. He never smacked Harvey Weisnstien or some other guy that at least deserved it. No, he was jealous of an actual real man, living an actual happy life and wanted to ruin it. It's sick and disgusting

It was just a joke. So why take it so hard? Life goes on, so don't let hold you back and dwell on for a long time. Will obviously was going through something that many of us know about, probably not even his wife fully knows or even understands it but she's most likely the cause of his mental health. A woman can find her wrath and destroy a man indefinitely without remorse.

I respected Will Smith and he was one of my favorite actors ever. I lost all respect for him after this incident and have not watched any of his movies since. Chris Rock is a great comedian and took the slap better than I could.
Will Smith owes Chris a huge part of life for that horrific act of aggression and for Chris' ability to handle that like a real human being and not make it a litigious battle for others to get into the fight. Chris made Smith look like a tiny broken person with weak morals where as Chris came out with huge fortitude.
Chris handled that incident way better than i ever wouldve, respect to him
Chris handled it with class and like a gent. Will made a huge mistake, and was out of order completely, which he's apologised for. Nobody is perfect. I respect Will for realising his mistake and being big enough to apologize and take accountability for his actions.
Chris maintained his professionalism throughout this incident.
Screw media and their scandal stories. Not a scandal, everyone was probably waiting for him to clap back!
It's so difficult to know whether Will's apology is sincere frankly, because he has something to gain by making it. That's too bad.
I have enjoyed being entertained by Will for many years. I believe in forgiveness. But I also believe that in order to get forgiven you must sincerely ask for it. I pray for the best for them both. To Chris, all I have to say is bravo, you handled that with class.

And the joke about GI Jane 2 was super light to the point of it was nice. Hopefully you've seen GI Jane and know what it's about. If not, it's about a woman who was a recruit in the Marines(which was all male), they were treating her differently because she was a woman, so what she did was shave off all her hair because she didn't want any special treatment and wanted to be treated not as all the other men, but wanted to be treated as a Marine recruit. The movie, which was based on a true story, was more about women's empowerment and equality of outcome. So if anything, that mild joke of "Jada, can't wait to see you in GI Jane 2" should've been taken more as a compliment than an insult. Now that Rihanna joke he said that year when she decided to boycott the Oscar's, while funny and true, that one was more offensive.
Also, if I went to a comedy show, if I couldn't take a joke, I would've sit front row. Everybody knows that comedians always pick on people there when they do crowd work.
Chris has said he didn't know about her condition and there's no reason to assault someone over a joke. People need to put on their big girl panties. Hence the reason they hire comedians to do shows. They roast people. It's what they(all) do

Will Smith is going to live with this slap for decades and after his death. People will never forget it and Will will be remembered for the Slap more than any movie he ever made.

Chris been working for years on getting that slap. The Oscar has scripted and rehearsed jokes. He didn't stay on script at Jada and Will expense and he was supposed to be a friend. This wasn't his first time coming for Jada. He might have gotten a beat down if it was not live TV. The joke are meant to be targeted at nominees not their family. Period and they are censored prior to the actual show. This wasn't stand up where you have a choice to pay and possibly be joke on because you with a bald head woman in the front row. The audience are actors laughing at joke they already heard in practice. Some people need to look at it from the point of reality. Chris crossed the line that's why Will got a standing ovation live and was not kicked out or locked up.
Jada does not have alopecia. She has over processed hair and scalp. If she was so sensitive about it (which she wasn't) she should've worn a wrap. Will was laughing, he's just trying to reclaim his masculinity, which Jada so callously chopped off with her incessant obsession with Tupac and her "entanglement" with a boy her son's age, flaunted in public. Now I could care less about anything will Smith. Jada is a grown ass woman, she didn't need "her man" to slap another man. What part of any of this is healthy and functional?
