Surprised this wasn’t brought up, but if Galaxy 2’s Throwback Galaxy is exactly the same place as 64’s Whomp’s Fortress (which is implied in a few ways), then I think it’s entirely possible that all of 64’s painting worlds are actually just other galaxies.

@@camzilla603boy12 IIRC, the wall you blast at to get a star is still chipped, and both the Whomp King and a pink Bob-omb recognize Mario. There might be other stuff too but I haven’t played it in a while.
@@zerogyoro4521This gets way more obvious in SMO, where when you go into a painting, you just get straight up teleported to a future kingdom. The paintings are just portals in frames.
Maybe not another galaxy but another reality, realm, or dimension. Technically, all the Mario universe are different dimensions than ours or what they call "the real world" in the cartoon series. And there are different worlds and dimensions within theirs. I've never played Odyssey but I'm assuming that even though the levels in that game resemble our reality more so than previous games I believe it's its own version of our reality.
Living in the mushroom kingdom seems to be the most confusing thing ever.

The locations of 64 are fictional created by the magic of power stars to keep them from Mario though it seems Bowser likely just copied/ was inspired by locations seen throughout the Mario series
Or are portals, another universes or dimensions too.
From whay I've seen, there's no confirmation that the Mario Movie is canon. Odyssey retconned Mario coming from the real world entirely with New Donk being where Mario and Luigi worked.
Also Paper Mario is, as you said, a book, not a seperate dimension. It exists in there dimension, simply being a story inside the universe.
To me it seems like there are multiple mushroom kingdoms, because in super mario maker 2, we see that peach is trying to build another castle, implying that peach colonizes and builds more castles in different parts of the mario world. This would explain how mario rpg works, as well as probably a lot of other things
The Super Mario Bros. Movie is not follwing the same canon as the games and therefore can't be used to explain things from the games.
Donkey Kong Island is referenced in many games like Mario Kart and Mario Party games and it is also pretty clear that it is located somewhere near New Donk City so there is litereally no need to take the movie as reference anyway
Also I really missed all the other DK locations, like Crocodile Isle, Timbers Island, Northern Kremisphere, Lost Mangroves, Autumn Heights, Birght Savannah, Sea Breeze Cove, Juicy Jungle, Sun Sun Island, Treasure Island, Ghost Island, Chill'n'char Island, High High Island and Planet Plantean
Mario kart 8 race tracks can be kind of mapped out based on flight schedules and train routes
Dude mentioning DK Island; could've been a great way to talk about Spiral Mountain being somewhere near DK Island; probably in the North with all the brother Bears.
Ps. As my own head cannon Banjo is one of the Brother Bears just not one that's in Donkey Kong Country 3.

what do you mean Dreambert is the ruler of Pillo Island? The whole plot is about reawakening the ancient Pillows, they didn't even know Dreambert existed before Mario saves him
this was pretty good I think this was pretty interesting, but I really thought that you were going to mention wario like all the place wario went through on his own adventures leaving warioware to be another dimension with the numerous differences unless diamond city were able to actually fit in somewhere, and come to think of it it can fit in more as it's inhabited by humans like mona, 9-volt, or cricket
Wario land games seem to not have connections to mario games.
Unless if they live on New donk city.

Actually, all Mario universities are connected set by the creator, himself, the back of one of the paper, Mario games, saying, Mario returns in paper, form the blocks of nostalgia and way more

Personally I like to think of Yoshi's Island being off the coast of Cascade Kingdom, while DK Island and it's many surrounding islands, excluding the North Kremisphere and where the Snowmads came from, as existing around the Lost Kingdom likely closer to the Metro Kingdom. Moreover if Rougeport exists in the main universe, since it's accessed via being traveled to by sea, I think the borders of the Mushroom Kingdom probably extend past the Mushroom shaped landmass, and Rougeport would be located at the border between the Mushroom Kingdom and the Ruined Kingdom.
The mainlines reference the spin-offs constantly and vise-versa, there's no reason to believe the spin-offs aren't canon
We also have the Subcon Land from Super Mario Bros. 2 and BS Super Mario USA; aka the dream land

There are prolly 3 or more dozen maps for Marios Worlds and 3 or more dozen different Universe it exists in. Although, the benefit of the doubt could be considered that unrelated areas of the world just aren't shown as you pass them by, for focusing sake. So they might still exist where they should and you would pass them technically, they are just not visible.

All the locations in the first two Paper Mario games exist in the main Mario world though. And SPM's locations are in other dimensions far-out in the universe, not in a book. SPM's intro in the Mushroom Kingdom takes place in the same Mushroom Kingdom as the other Mario games.
Paper Jam barely even feels canon to the other M&L games, but at MOST I only think it speaks for modern Paper Mario, the ones that designed their entire worlds and identities around being paper and stuck much more closely to the vanilla Mario cast. The idea that such an insulting game with nonexistent representation of the first 3 PM games can just retroactively redefine the canonicity of those games really doesn't sit well with me. They are organic Mario adventures and always will be. Paper Mario had a clear reboot that redefined the context of it, and Paper Jam very clearly is using the rebooted version.

That'd be an alternate universe of Wario and Waluigi never meeting. A dimension would be closer to another plane of existence on top of ours.
I only take the odyssey map seriously, and not always. Does the Mushroom World (those selfish Toads!) have continents full of holes with cities isolated by voids? Seriously? And why does the Mushroom Continent has so much biodiversity? Its so small but it has 300 diferent biomes!
I think it's possible that Peach has multiple castles throughout the kingdom on the island 🤣 She's always getting captured and we're always told she's in another castle so maybe she needs to move around sometimes so it isn't so hard to be captured. Like I think 64 and Galaxy's castles go with the same one since Both have that hillside waterfall by the lake landscape while the movie, super princess peach on switch, and odyssey share the same castle as well. maybe the super Mario bros castles are just separated to different areas for the kingdom's government to stay in? That's the only reasonable explanation to put aside the excuse that the developers are too lazy to create an accurate world 💀💀

Mario & Luigi and Paper Mario are canon, they connect to the mainline games.
@@Wacky_Plumber yeah they're connected to the Mainline timeline but in Mario & Luigi paper jam paper Mario came from another dimension this is where we can assume both original Mario and paper Mario are completely different entity
