      Health boost + damage skills. Quality of life things include Evade Window and Extender, Speed Sharpening, Flinch Free, Divine Blessing, Elemental Resist, among plenty of others. Depending on how far you are there's not a whole lot of good options available: the overwhelming majority of low and high rank gear gets obsolete as soon as you get to master rank and most of your master rank stuff is just better defence and occasionally you'll get something good like Agitator which is especially good in World due to the clutch claw. So yeah nothing super specific really

      If you're going through the base game then consider the Defender set of armor and Guardian set of weapons, they are OP sets meant to boost you to the DLC. If you want the full base game experience then ignore those at all costs.
      For low rank your kinda SOL, pick whatever pieces you can that give you either Health Boost or Weakness exploit, but first and foremost focus on upgrading your attack value and defense, even if it means downgrading good skills.
      For high rank you'll want to work towards Behemoth's armor if you care about being maxed out before entering the DLC (although, IMO, not needed, Behemoth gear will serve you for up to two to three hunts in the DLC and the grind for it is hard).
      In the meantime in High Rank you'll probably be looking to get some Odogaron or Rathalos pieces for Weakness Exploit. Since you're a new player try and value Health Boost above all else, damage is no good if you're dead.
      As for damage skills you should generally try and focus on affinity increasing skills over pure damage increases. Weakness Exploit is by far the best damage skill, always have as much of it as you possibly can. Critical Eye is another great pick, though it's per-point value is very diminished by comparison to Weakness Exploit.
      Another thing: if you'll be ignoring Defender/Guardian, High Rank is a great place for you to play around with utility and defensive skills. Try stuff like Earplugs, Stun Resistance, Speed Sharpening, Speed Eating, Mushroomancer, Protective Polish, Sleep/Paralysis Attack Up and others. In High Rank is when you get a healthy spread of skills and points to play around with, and the game still expects you to be climbing the learning curve, so it's a great time for you to learn which of the less popular or quirkier skills best fit your playstyle.
      Someone else said it in this thread, but Evade Extender is also another big one for convenience, especially when you're still getting used to Longsword counter timings.
      Oh, and if you ever manage to fit Jump Master as a little bonus in the build, do it! It's not mandatory, but aerial Longsword is surprisingly good, but most importantly i find it to be hella fun.

    • @dariosubara6521
      @dariosubara6521 Před 6 měsíci

      You can pretty much stick with Mail, Gloves and Belt from Kaiser Beta ( MR Teostra) for Master's Touch
      And Helm, Legs Beta from Raging Brachydios for Agitator 7 all the way till last boss pretty much
      Best weapons you can use: Lightbreaker Edge, Safi's shatterblade(if fully upgraded, augmented, dmg is tiny bit higher) - But you don't have to grind for it tbh
      -If you didn't get to those yet, you can use Golden Rathian longsword, Hellish slasher
      You can use Agitator Charm 5 or Attack Charm 5 depending on the decorations you have - prior to that I used Critical Eye charm 4

      Practice makes perfect. Don’t rush yourself, learning takes time. First thing you have to learn are attack patterns. I liked practicing on Rajang, since I was very familiar with him from older games, except his new moves! Try picking a monster you’re good at predicting to learn I suggest. Good luck :)

      The I-frames that foresight gives are huge, I’m pretty sure evade window increases it so you could grab that skill to get punished less for an early foresight.

      Kushala is the only monster that can be constantly toppled by hitting a specific body part. All the other monsters will clagger after a topple, unfortunately that's what developers added in Iceborne. I wish there was no clagger...
