It would have been easier with a low budget and 1970s film tech to just add a few fake extra eyes. Or to have her wear a "uni sunglasses" and just imply she has one eye.
they probably rewrote leela so instead of being a cyclops she's just blind in one eye. the producers couldn't properly get leela's eye to look right with any sort of costume.
@@tickmothy they could say that she had surgery to have a face with two eyes, but only one of them works with her cyclops eye. And anytime she takes the "mask" off, her back is turned and you only see the back if her head, but onlookers react as if she had a massive cyclops eye.

As someone who was born in the 80s & grew up in the 90s, this absolutely nails the aesthetic & vibe of those corny but fun sitcoms from our childhoods, LOL. Everything was captured so well but that ZOIDBERG was awesome! Great work! I also like exploring vintage/retro aesthetics & nostalgia through AI!

This is great! I could see this as like an American version of Red Dwarf and I love the designs of Bender, Kif and Dr. Zoidberg. 0:24 feels like a live action Leela.
I would like to see the original voice actors do an episode of Futurama sitcom style. The problem is the amazingly talented Billy West does the voices of so many key characters that acting out all those parts in front of a camera would be very complicated.😎
Sad what happened to the actor for Kif. He had an allergy to the ambergris inside the green body paint that caused him immense pain whenever he wore it but pushed through it every episode because he loved what the show stood for. Has late stage cancer now, it was never confirmed if the exposure to the paint for six seasons is what caused it but most people (myself included) tend to think so.

You can tell these are pictures from the pilot episode. This was before Leela's actress had this accident that made her lose her eye. But I like how they made it part of the show and just gave her an eyepatch.

Anyone else remember when they almost cancelled the show because bender dropped his infamous catchphrase "bite my shiny metal ass" ? The negative PR caused a wage dispute between Charles Dawson and the producers, so we lost our lovable robot for three-quarters of that season. Glad they brought him back the next season.
Can you imagine if they try to cancelled the show every time bender do or say something edgy, that would be like every episode.
They could never recapture the Nielsen robot families after that kerfuffle.

Awesome. The robot/puppet characters are particularly impressive. AI seems to have more creativity than most humans would have, taking liberties and adding cool details we might not have thought of.
