The origins of Bitcoin remain a mystery as we don't know too much about the founder other than their alias Satoshi Nakamoto. With Ethereum on the other hand, the founder, Vitalik Buterin is only 27 years old today and he was only 21 when Ethereum was launched. Before founding Ethereum, Vitalik worked as a crypto-journalist at the crypto magazine he cofounded called Bitcoin Magazine. As he met with crypto experts around the world though, he quickly realized that most cryptocurrency projects had a major shortfall which was that they were too niche and application-specific. Vitalik proposed the idea of creating a broader cryptocurrency to many crypto founders, but they weren't interested. So, Vitalik decided to do it on his own. My point is criminals and frauds should never be given a second chance. Theranos and Nikola Motors are examples of companies where the product didn't actually work.

While Vitalik was raising funds and publishing white papers in 2013, I was worried sick about getting into college and not getting admission the year before.

You should learn more about vitalik's donation of shiba inu coin.It's what made me like him so much.
The creators of shiba inu coin transferred 50%(not sure) of all shiba inu coins in circulation to vitalik's wallet in order to propel the value of their coin
Vitalik could easily have sold all the coins and made billions of dollars
But that would drive the value of the coin to almost nothing
He couldn't do that to people so he thought of other ways to deal with this.
At that time,India was experiencing 2nd wave of COVID-19 and vitalik decided to help
He donated $1.6 bn worth of shiba inu coins to a charity that would help India (not sure how that charity spent the money)
And if I'm correct he burnt the rest of his shiba inu coins
(Burning is sending your crypto to a wallet without any private keys so that they cannot be accessed by anyone)
As such,it didn't impact shiba inu holders.

I have two doubts about crypto currency becoming mainstream.
One is volatility because people are trading it like a security or commodity instead of currency. Sure it's not accepted everywhere right now, but gambling on it will only delay it's acceptance in mainstream economy.
Second and the biggest problem is governments.
No government in the world would like to have a currency not issued by them run in the market.
They would want to control crypto currencies too like China did with their digital yuan.
