I just loved when they asked Scarlett the rabbit food question and then RDJ and Tom just laughed like " go on girl kick their ass! " and then Robert even omitted his question! I love how these people act like real friends and support each other
Bella Swan I loved it too! If you watch other interviews and stuff, you can tell they REALLY hate when she is asked questions like that and will fully back her up. They really hate the sexism and how interviewers treat her, and I love it so much.

Yes they do. They get it all the time. I suggest you research that by looking at some Chris Evans or Chris Hemsworth interviews. And rightfully so; they play super-fit characters, running around in tight dresses, just as Scarlet, in the biggest movie franchise there is at the moment. People might be curious, what a shocker. The only difference is that it's suddenly sexist when a women gets the question. You're not defending women by being a "white knight in shiny armor" here, you are contributing to inequality. Last time I checked, it is equality we want. might be boring or not, I don't care, that's not the topic here.
You can tell Scarlett was pissed about the diet question. Understandably so.
Yeah, she's just as good an actor as the rest of the cast, but instead of being appreciated for her skill and talent as her male costars are, she's being appreciated for her body. Sexism exists in this industry, and people like Scarlett exist to fight it.

TheGameHeaven yes it is. Being from the same gender doesn't make them immune to being sexist, just like being black/brown doesn't make them immune to being racist. The fact that male stars are asked about their fitness and appearance on other accounts doesn't make this instance less sexist. (also if we assume the original Japanese reporter was a woman. PS: thought Japan could do better than this)

Are you sure it was a female reporter? I know this is old, but they mentioned a translator being needed. It's my understanding that the woman talking was a translator and we didn't get to see the person asking the question, so I assumed that there's a 50% chance of a male reporter being the person who actually came up with the question.

The point of the interview was the characters, but of course they were going to slip into real life. I've watched a lot of interviews. That's usually how it goes.

The problem isn’t actually her characterization, it’s that you refuse to look past your own biases.
Also before you try to say that males are asked those types of questions;
1. Yes, that’s an issue too. But that’s not what we’re taking about right now, because that didn’t happen here.
2. She is rarely (if ever) asked about her actual character. She’s asked about her diet, or her undergarments, or her relationships with the men, or how she feels about being a woman superhero. Look through her interviews, especially those open for the public’s questions. I guarantee you than 90% of the questions directed at her are about her body/weight/femininity.
It’s clear that you don’t understand, which is fine. You probably won’t ever understand fully, but if you’re not even going to try then just shut up.
You have never experienced what they’re talking about, stop pretending like you’re the expert. Have you ever been a woman? Have you ever had your entire worth be reduced to your body every day of your life?
You are not the expert here. Stop acting like you, someone with zero experience in this field, know better than people who have been dealing with (and learning from) all of this for years.
How about you listen to those around you who are telling you that something is wrong, instead of getting defensive and acting like you know more about their lives than they do for once in your goddamned life. Grow up, dude.

I love how the cast reacted to the 'rabbit food question' RDJ omitted his question, he and Tom reached out to Scarlet and her answer was brief. The journalist didn't gain much from their questions and didn't deserve to.

Scarlett was playing a really interesting character. The whole cast, men and women, would have had to be on special diets to get into shape. It's so annoying that they consider the appearance of the Black Widow before the depth of the character. No stupid rabbit food questions please!
Samueljacob GuerrereroR I think it’s less an issue of being offended, and more so this being the type of question she hears very frequently. It would be annoying to be asked these ‘rabbit food’ questions again and again while her costars tend to get the more substantial questions.

Very true! He plays it so well for that reason, but I think as Ironman, its a great fit.
Benjamin Rujopakarn he puts a lot more than just himself in Iron Man and other characters. There are nuances that only great actors can pull off in his characters. There's a reason he's been nominated for 2 Oscars (including one in a comedy) and won people's choice and golden globes. Just watch Tropic Thunder or Chaplin to see his range.

I love how Robert and Tom both reach over to touch Scarlet like they need to calm her after the diet question. She's been over it so many times and handles it so gracefully, why do people feel the need to ask such unimportant questions to someone when they could be asking about her powerful amazing character?

So Robert Downey jr gets a really interesting question about his character development in Iron Man 1 & 2, and then Scarlett Johansson gets asked about the diet for her role. Like, seriously? Never mind that Black Widow is actually a very interesting character from the comics, which is explored more in the avengers film, let's just concentrate on what the actress had to eat before filming. Because that's SO interesting. At least Scarlet called the questioner up on their bullshit.
What's really funny is that after watching endgame I came to the conclusion that romanof is my favourite avenger and the one who died being a true hero fulfilling her life by killing herself to protect Clint and mankind in general. Her death hurt me the most and was the most unexpected. She deserves BETTER questions.

Scarlett gets deep with questions because she only gets asked a couple interesting ones. Most of them are about her appearance or something along those lines (or, you know, what was it like working with chris evans again etc). Interviewers need to "read some of her press" before they waste time, make scarlett understandably upset/disappointed and let themselves look like complete morons. She has a world of things to say, just ask her the right stuff!
She need to stop pretending attention, and stop overeacting, everyone now is magically interested in her charachter, in reality you don't care about it, it's just the heat of the moment.

And to be honest, I would be pretty annoyed too if interviewers kept asking my diet and my body and what undergarments I wear. I just don't understand why they go to such an effort to get all the actors together for press, take them halfway across the world, hire a venue and then only spend 23 minutes on questions. This happens so often, especially at comic con where they introduce a cast and don't even have half of them answer even one question. I realise press tours are busy but the most important part of the press tour is DOING THE PRESS. It seems adding 30 more minutes onto this panel would not be that much of an extension when you already are spending half a day to get in and get out. 30 more minutes is nothing once you have the cast together.

Wow. I hadn't watched any panels/interviews with all of the cast there, and I have to say, after listening to the various reactions/replies regarding Twitter and the social media thing, I feel lucky to be part of Tom/Loki's fan base. He's so open about it, you can't help but admire him for it.
