This looks to me like you took a standard 6-color color wheel and put colors between each of them in an outer layer. Generally, cold and warm is separated from warm purple to neutral yellow, which is perfectly evenly spaced on a regular color wheel. I don't think I understand what the advantage would be to using this sort of star pattern, particularly if you're mapping a larger number of colors
