All my years as an EMT no one talked about how the vessels undergo hypertrophy from autoregulating high blood pressure which leads to artheroclerosis, just never even talked about in all my EMS learning.

Very well explained. with simple logics...auto regulation ,the stages of HTN.Best is the sloe lowering by 5%..to avoid stroke..as the authoregulation curve is a dynamic, and not static..has already shifted to right in patient with more 200 mm Hg of BP..that is always to keep in mind.

I’ve always had anxiety but since going out with a narcissist for 6 years my blood pressure was staying high with my pulse constantly high so at 54 yrs old female in 2020 I woke up one morning and noticed I couldn’t see out of my right eye. I waited until four days then went to the emergency room. They kept me overnight with a cuff on my arm. My blood pressure stayed normal. They took blood tests left and right arms . They just said wall thickness in The Central vein. No blood getting to my retina for too long. They said I will never see again in my right eye. A few weeks later I notice what they call silver wiring or cotton wool. You see that real good at night when the lights are out and all you can see is the scribbled scenery of
The silver color or maybe white color. It’s like you took a white crayon on black construction paper and started making circles and swirls everywhere on that page. As I’m searching in the dark for the light…..
I can’t wait to turn the light on
It’s just a panicky feeling which isn’t good . I’ve learned to breathe nice and deep not shallow. I had to break all ties with the narcissist…….
After I first lost sight in my eye I asked him to drive me to Atlanta to see the Retina Dr. But he had NO compassion and yelled at me to watch the signs of how to get to the office building. I tried to but I couldn’t see. Of course everything was my fault as always. That was the icing on the cake because when He treated me like that?? Because he was getting lost in Atlanta and I couldn’t see but it was my fault.???? He is history. I’ve had to learn depth and perception. Like , the ceiling fan light is farther away than you think. Pouring coffee yes, I’ve missed completely. Setting a glass on the table ?? I think it’s going to set there but no, it didn’t make it.
I just thought I would share with people who wondered what it was like to have had this for 4 years now.

As a patient with high blood pressure, are there physical cues in the vision to indicate which level I would be at? I have had chronic high blood pressure for years without knowing it and fear the damage is done

Hi Doctor! I watch all your videos and want to say thank you for all the help and information you give us! ❤️I wish your clinic was in LA! I have a question please, I'm 35 years old, we don't have glaucoma genetics or glasses in our family, I've had high blood pressure for several years that I've never treated, sometimes I feel that it might be anxiety, in addition, I also went to an eye doctor because I felt that my eyes were dry and that I could see Blurry especially in the evening, it's been like this for many years but in the last few months it really bothered me so I decided to go to the doctor, the doctor checked my eyes and they did all the tests there and told me that I don't have glaucoma but I have high pressure in my eyes, 26 in my right eye and in my left eye 28 And he said that I should start putting one drop in each eye at night and so I do( I put LATANOPROST )so my question is this, do I have anything to fear that I Can't go blind?? Or could I be getting glaucoma? My vision is fine and I don't have glasses and the dry eye drops help me feel better, do I have a reason to be afraid?? Should I continue with the eye drops to lower the pressure for the rest of my life? Or even if I don't take care of it then it can't get worse? If I continue to use eye drops for the rest of my life, will everything be fine with my vision? And is high blood pressure related to high pressure in the eyes? Sorry for the long message, hope to get help from you, and is there a way to talk to you on the phone or in a paid for zoom call ? 🤞🏼🤞🏼 Thank you for your time doctor I appreciate it 🙏🏼

High blood pressure does not affect eye pressure, HOWEVER, it DOES affect the eyes and the blood vessels in the eye. You can go blind without frequent checkups and treatment.

@@hellono2561 Thanks for replying to my message I appreciate it, one more thing please 🙏🏼 I started to taking the Timolol 0.5
to lower the pressure in the eyes and the doctor said that my eyes are healthy and I only need to come for a check up every few months to make sure that the pressure is always normal and then he said that I can live with good vision for the rest of my life If I continue with the drops and get to check up.
