#MichaelJackson #Thriller #Bad - Zábava
The way thriller broke racism barriers in the industry at that time is incredible and legendary.
YES 🙌
People don't talk about this enough! It absolutely did. The Thriller video wasn't just a video, it was an event! I even made a whole video about it. MJ really carried MTV on his back for some time.
@@TTintodeep lol look at what happened to pop without mike 🤣🤣 even when he was alive and not producing the standard for pop was much higher
Thx sharing posting

Fun fact: micheal Jackson liked to call his music videos SHORT FILMS. I mean they basically were, they were long, had a story, plot. They are short films not music videos
Also Michael race change wasn’t a choice, he had vitlligo.
I mean, they are short films 🤷♀️ I think of that as semantics, but I do understand the important distinction.
@@tatianabennett865 he didn’t change his race tho you meant skin tone he was always a black man even after he got “Vitiligo”👊🏽🙌🏽👑❤️💯
@@tatianabennett865 Similar to what the individual above me said, and I mean no disrespect to you whatsoever, Michael did not, in any way, shape, or form, regardless of his Vitiligo, changed his race, lol. A person’s level of pigment, or melanin, throughout their skin, which produces from the melanocytes in the skin, no matter what level that is or the race of the individual, or even in Michael's case where he had prominent areas on his body without any pigment/melanin due to his melanocytes attacking and then destroying the melanin in those areas, does not serve any significance or role in determining a person’s race. DNA and genetics determine an individual’s race, not the color or lack of color/pigment for those with Vitiligo, of their skin. I don't say the following to pick on you, nor are my intentions derived from anything remotely negative; this sentiment, however, reminds me, very much so, of those who are adamant that Michael's children “are not his biological kids,” all because of the color of their skin and their overall features. All those who claim this are doing is shining a light on the fact that they have no idea, or lack an adequate and accurate understanding, of how DNA, genetics, genetic mapping, and physical characteristics derived from genetics works. A person does not have to have a specific complexion or certain facial/body features in order for them to be of a certain race legitimately. Michael Jackson was born black, and he, up to the day of his death, remained nothing other than a black man.
@@tatianabennett865 he didn’t change race at all. No one can “change their race”. His skin color was changed but he was still his race.
He honestly deserves to have that title because he made an incredible impact on music
Indeed!
I love your profile pic!
@@alexescobar-gonzalez72 thanks
Exactly
King of pop I think his title should have been king of Music cause nobody can take his crown Like the man is still that man
I think we can all agree that Janet and Michael are the most iconic and influential siblings of all time.
Yesss!!!!!
and the funny thing is THEY"RE RELATED FROM THE SAME FAMILY, at that point you know the jacksons have incredible genetics

OBVIOUSLY YESS 🥰💜❤️🐐🐐
There are many women artists above Janet and it's not even close . I agree for MJ though .
He’s still the King of Pop! We don’t have any male artists of his caliber, and none of your favorites need apply. Period.
Well 🤷♀️ Can't say you're wrong!
😆 Facts are facts! Lol Great video! I’m wondering if you’d consider doing a profile on the criminally underrated work of Dawn Richard from Danity Kane. She’s been putting out amazing visuals and music & she deserves more eyes on her work.
They say “Justin Bieber is the new King of Pop” but wtf why??
“Superstardom” kind of dies with him, there’s only huge internet stars today
He was truly one of a kind.

Sooo true!
What is his impact in music and how it's *BEYOND* anyone???????? really? All this video said was about fashion, dance and being black. Come on he did nothing new or jaw dropping music wise...
@@captainfantastic3490 What???? Michael is the best artist in the world!!! Nobody can imitate his dance moves, the meaning of his lyrics, his vocals, his ability to connect with all nations and countries, his perfection in choreography. His had a perfect own style of dance moves. Give me the name of an artist who has more than 4.8 billion of fans. When I saw Michael the first time I really thought he isn't from this planet. Something is wrong with your perception!
@@captainfantastic3490 What impact? MJ literally changed the music industry. Thriller changed the way albums were perceived, he turned albums into mini movies with unique themes. Michael was able to take Music and Performing to New hights. It's why he's known as the "King of Pop."
Yup 🙌
The thing that made Michael's music was that he cared. It wasn't just about the records, money, cars, girls, whatever.
He just liked making music and wanted the world to see his product. Just like a kid telling the parents about a science project.
That's why his music felt real
And to this day people make asinine comparisons trying to disrespect him... Namely Chris brown and Justin Bieber
Chris Brown is not even relevant anymore lol
@@qdominika7253 I know, he kinda ruined his own career when he was starting to become big.
I will never get why ANYONE tries to discredit another artists' legacy, especially someone like MJ. 🤷♀️
Some people calling Justin Bieber the "new" King of Pop dropped some bad acid.
@@qdominika7253 he still is relevant people ain’t forget bout him he still getting top 10 on billboard n awards he just not as big he did mess up his career with that Rihanna situation n tryna b a gang member
I think what made him the King of Pop is that he changed the scene not only musically but visually and opened the door for black music artists in the mainstream. Obviously, it was the same time MTV started, so a lot of artists became more POPular because of that. Lionel Richie, for example, also started out as a soul/funk artist when he was with the Commodores, and later became more pop in the 80s. It's the same with Michael. He started as a black music artist, influenced by James Brown. When I listen to "Off The Wall", I hear R&B, funk, soul and disco. I dare say the black community liked that album more than "Thriller". What made Michael stand out was not just his performances, but that he was able to cross genres and cultures and was accepted in them, but paid the price of giving up part of his blackness, and I don't mean that in a negative way, because it shows that there should be no boundaries in music as long as you use it in an appropriate way. Conversely, I can understand if some white artists who make soul music hate being called "blue-eyed soul singers". What's the point? It's music.
Very well articulated point!
He did not "give up his blackness". He had vitiligo which made his skin that way. Maybe not in a way we usually see vitiligo. Also he still stuck to his black roots.
Other than his musical contributions, which can't be denied, I also feel that he made fame more famous by turning his private life into a circus. He was the pioneer of this celebrity obsessed culture we are living in today. His every move was headlines all over the world. People were famous before Michael of course, but he took being a celebrity to a whole new level.
Because no one was that type of famous outside of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
You see any guy singing and dancing and you'll immediately see MJ's influence. He's the absolute icon
For sure 🙌
Micheal has sold 350 million records?? For real? I heard he sold almost 1 billion records worldwide. I mean even thriller alone has sold 115 million copies worldwide and it's the best selling album of all time.
The Thriller album sold 66 million records, when you include the singles sales its over 100 million. You gotta remember unlike most artist Micahel didnt come out with an album every year.
Off the wall-1979
Thriller-1982
Bad-1987
Dangerous-1991
History-1995
Invincible- 2001
Michael really only had 6 albums in his solo career, they don't count the records sold with his brothers.
Yess thriller is best selling album of all time but with 66 million copies worldwide , not 115 million . And he has sold 360+ million records which made best selling artist ever along with Madonna

He used to scare me as a child because of all the crap the media would say about him and then the thriller video used to scare me, but as I grew up I started to realise more and more how great this man actually was and that my fears had come from what everyone else has said about him, rather than me actually getting to know him from my own view point. I appreciate it, thank you!
@@popdissected4400 you’re very welcome!
I think what made him the best was he just did EVERYTHING. He WAS everything. Everything he did was done at the highest capabilities too and he ended up becoming the best at it. He was the best dancer/performer, he was the best singer, he had the most impact and not only as a musician, he had the most recognizable voice and not only in music either. He acted, he changed what music videos were. He took substance in music and made it 10000000X more creative and better. He's practically the reason why people make concept albums. A lot of people only made music to make money, MJ made music a trillion times more creative and artistic and made it more than just a job. Not only did his music shed light on black talent and music, but just music in general. He's one of if not the BIGGEST reason why 80s-90s music is celebrated and talked about way more than other time periods. He was in the most well known, impactful music band of all time. He practically created versatility in music. He was the first one to really genre bend and experiment with music just like everyone does today. He has SO many titles. I'm in firm belief that no musician is "born" with talent, but Michael Jackson is the ONLY exception. I truly believe he had a gift.
He was so impactful that he could've retired after Off The Wall and he would still be looked at as a musical god.
He LIVED music. He is the FACE OF MUSIC. It's estimated that when he was alive, he had over 1 BILLION FANS AND SUPPORTERS ACROSS THE EARTH.
He created what music is today. All the music you hear today is derived and inspired by Michael in some way.
I could go on and on, but that's the thing, I COULD GO ON AND ON. The things he did and accomplished don't stop. There's so many things I could say about him.
I don't even need to say "King Of Pop". All I have to say is... Michael Jackson. That's it. That's how amazing he is.
Simply because he’s the greatest of all time period!!!!! No one NO ONE NO ONE is better than him

Great video!
I think the chart master did an update last year, where it listed Michael Jackson as the 2nd biggest selling artist of all time surpassing Elvis.
There will never be another Michael Jackson in our lifetime or any lifetime to come. The fact that Michael Jackson was able to jump up on stage and stand motionless for several minutes while droves of people fainted at his mere presence on stage with him doing nothing should alone prove the point that any attempt to undermine his legacy is pointless. Or even have media outlets and male artist fan bases say that "______ is the new King Of Pop" when that title was never taken away from Michael in the first place. Many artists may break his records and some may sell more than he did. But one thing that is undeniable is that you cannot go anywhere on Earth without somebody knowing Michael Jackson's name and the impact he had on modern pop culture and music. You will never get that type of artist again in any lifetime.
I really enjoyed this video. I have a few suggestions on future superstars you can cover. Whitney Houston, Donna Summer, Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross, Natalie Cole, and Tina Turner. Once again thanks for the video. Keep up the good work.
