- Rushing Ruins as Wanda can be done, but it can also be dangerous! Here's some gameplay of me rushing ruins as Wanda.

This was more difficult to edit than I originally thought.
I was slow in this rush as I took precaution this time around cause last time, I died day 8 to some rooks.
imo Wanda is the character that benefits the most from a rush. Having access to a rechargeable weapon better than Dark Swords early and being able to set up a few tp locations as soon as you get walrus tusks is just amazing. Rushing the ruins with her can be risky, but it's so rewarding!
Just rush the archives for EZ thulecite fragments

It's not even risky, with her weapon nightmares aren't a problem and she can easily kill everything in the ruins including the boss. Wanda is op, i played her today and i was blown away with how good she is
@@lazardocic1030 how do you deal with bishops as Wanda? bishops are ranged so you are forced to tank them and it's not a good idea to tank as Wanda

The alarming clock is soo awesome. I've never tried a ruins rush... maybe I should sometime.. but I got an early alarming clock by going to the archives instead of the ruins.. Still losts of bosses I have yet to fight, but I love Wanda. Klei did really well with her
I know this video was made a year ago, but right now you can get 9 marble pieces from Nightmare pig's columns which are always in the mud biome (the one that has a lot of lightbulbs).
It's the guaranteed way to find marble once you're in caves. And this is more than enough for all of Wanda's crafts.

Way to go on that Guardian fight. I for one cannot stand fighting him, I never hesitate to cheese him
Unfortunately, this way of fighting him is only possible if you have Magi+Cane+ Cobblestone or are playing a character that has a speed boost to replace the cobblestone due to a subsequent patch.
It has now become a drag to fight, but thankfully Klei is aware of the poor state of AG and will hopefully rework him this year.

I would like to see you use the alarming clock for AG, I wonder if it could be faster if you're old Wanda, or faster even as middle aged Wanda
Idk if it would be faster atm; the AI for AG is busted atm. I'm waiting on a fix from Klei for it.

Thanks! They are in the middle of patching stunlocks with the Akarming Clock (though they broke a few more things along the way), so I went the kiting route.

How do you find the ruins so fast? I can never find them.
When you enter the caves, you are at the outer edges of the map.
You want to try to go to the center of the map where the mud biome is located (it's the one where there are a lot of lightbulbs).
You know you are headed towards the mud biome if you are passing through the mid range biomes, ie the giant mushroom biomes or rocky biomes (the one with a lot of rock lobsters, cave spider dens, or bats).
From there, you search the mud biome for where the lichen biome starts (it has a lot of lichen). If you have a blue mush forest to your left, red mush to your right, and green mush below you, then the lichen biome would be above you (as an example. You can guestimate the same way based on just where you cave entrances are).
After the lichen biome are two biomes: either one containing a bunch of depth worms and one with monkies. You want to go to the one with monkies as the ruins is generally past the monkies.

Pretty good attempt on the ruins rush, but i do believe day 17 is a bit too late. But still this was an amazing video
Yeah I was slow in the video. A previous attempt ended in an early death and I took it slow the 2nd time around.
The only thing i dont like about wanda is that unless you are extremely lucky or got teammates like wickerbotom with encyclopedia or maxwell with his starting nightmare fuel its hard to get her weapon quickly enough, it is sure worth it but in pubs i see a lot of rushes and oftern the snatched everything and killed Ancient Guardian by the time I arrive. I can usually get a manip by day 5-6.
I am sad because I have never been to the ruins before or even the archives as any character.
For the Archives, you can open a bunch of cave entrances until one of them leads to the Blue Mushroom forest. You go past the Blue mush forest into the Lunar Grotto biome, and then find the entrance to the Ancient Archive biome.
There should be no danger to you as long as you are carrying some food, armor, and a source of light with you.

How to ruin rush as Wanda:
Step 1: Select WX
Step 2: Rush the ruins
Step 3: Build the celestial portal and swap to Wanda
Step 4: Profit
How does the medallion help find the guardian?
having that in your inventory marks the location of the guardian/ancient key on the map.

Why or how the Medallion can tell you where the Ancient Guardian is?
When the Medallion is in your inventory, a symbol of the Ancient Key shows up on the map.
There might be some other player like me expecting AFW. I suggest you add into description that the video doesn't include shadow pieces nor AFW
When I see "ruins rush" I never think AFW. I only think "get into ruins, craft ruins gear, kill AG."
Ruins rush means you do the ruins ASAP, at least in the first autumn, no FW
How do you deal with splumonkeys stealing from your hutch?
I either avoid the monkies as much as possible or just run through the monkies till I'm in the ruins as they stop chasing once inside (or at least can be put into a corner to kill them).
I also make sure to keep non-valuable inside hutch because sometimes the monkies will still steal from hutch.
How to use thuletice medallion for finding ancient guardian?
Have it in your inventory, open the map, and then you will see an icon of the medallion. That is where the Ancient Key is and thus Ancient Guardian.

Opening a chest in the labyrinth can trigger a trap that changes the durability of items.

If you go down a cave entrance in the pig king biome you will be next to the ruins. Applies for every world.
