who else was expecting him to just drive the frame
Me
I totally did, thought maybe he was trying to 1 up Derrick for the sketchy rigs he drives home!
@@rednexicanhendrix3903 That would be a cool challenge. "Sketchiest rig ever driven home". Mind you.... Not cool if anyone dies I guess.
Him a wuss lmao
I did!! no joke
Put it back together??? I wanted to see you weld a seat to the frame, put on a motorcycle helmet and drive the frame home! 😎
Same
Same
That's what I was expecting 😂
You usually have a much more sketchy stance.
That's what I was thinking too lol
In this episode of Junkyard digs, Kevin puts a whole car together and makes it look like it's easy
Not hard to do....
@steverodgers okie dokie buddy. Not all of us are Superman. I'm a qualified mechanic, but what do I know? 👍
@@dopeman420 yeah sure mate righto

man those ticket stubs are legendary, that truck has rocked through the ages.
Yeah a metalhead was driving it. Pretty cool
Aw man, I was hoping you'd just strap a seat to the chassis and run that down the road
Same too
Same
That’s what i would have done…. Would have saved a ton of time and about a dozen rolls of electrical tape
Probably safer than that body he "mounted"

The fact you got it as far in just over 2 days is still incredibly impressive. Not to mention most of it was on your own with basic tools. Im jealous that in America you get all these wicked trucks to work on and we get like a mouldy volvo haha
Simple hand tools, ChrisFix would be proud
Come on out im sure my uncle could find something for you to do amongst his 200 orso started projects.
@@strhaivenswr Honestly, Its a long way and a lot of money but itd be awesome
I'll come out there and clean out your moldy Volvos
Thanks! America is still the best country on this planet. Hopefully the few radical anti-American Biden supporters and our corrupt flat out lying main stream media will stop trashing and sh*tting on it. TRUMP 2024!
It’s got the Dukes of Hazzard rims on it. Love it.
Theres a few things that really deserve the name Widowmaker, usually involving trees, but the lift setup at the back of the frame earned it. Sketchhhhhhh.
The F-104 was one of em.
Was expecting him to just stand on the frame and drive it
Shirtless In a pair of jorts, army boots, and aviation goggles with a white scarf. A string for the throttle and a 2x4 on a door hinge for brakes. FULL SEND❗️💪
or strap a couch to it

Me too, man. Me too. When I saw the video was an hour long, I assumed he needed time to go find a car seat.
@@jwanda10 or screw a dining chair to it. Never seemed to break no matter how hard i kicked them.
i like how the writing on the window went from "2 day challenge" to "don't die challenge"
I have to say that I am really quiet impressed. From a frame to a complete vehicle in a tad over 2 day. Well done sir.
Absolutely incredible. Amazing, the little amount of rust, the condition of this thing is out of this world, I was supposed to get one from an old friend but he passed and his kids junked it. It’s beautiful to see you working on this and bringing it back to glory
"I need to start saving money...oh look, a project car" that is a fitting shirt slogan for you.
Oh yes please
I’d buy five of them
That’s a long slogan on a shirt lol
Hahahahahahaa!!
Na you know how mutch that old girl will sell for
As much as I dig the Ram Charger, that's some beautiful land.

That old Dodge buzzer at 16:17 unlocked several core memories.
"Actually y'know what I've got a better view for you guys to fade to black on." Nailed it, that is some seriously beautiful scenery.

I can't believe all the parts were still there after 20 years.
Before it was tor apart it sat 20 it was disassembled in the last few years
Yep
I can't find parts of things I've disassembled the day after I disassemble it.

Anyone else most blown away by the RAIN PERCENTAGE meaning reveal? I mean awesome job getting this thing together in 2 days that would take me 2 years, but i had ZERO idea rain percentage meant that.
Proves you cant ever guess where knowledge will come from at the most unexpected time.
thanks junkyard digs, new subscriber as of now.
I'm impressed by how much you accomplished in such a short time!
Having watched the first 14 minutes of this video I've come to realise just how safety-conscious Derek really is!
Lol.. wrong channel.
To quote a great man, "If it works, is it really a dumb idea?" - Derek Bieri You get the nod and a firm handshake from me for those electrical tape bushings.
I knew a mountain man who moved a house with a series of car jacks. Jerry rigging ftw
I was getting Red Green vibes with the tape
@@LegendStormcrow how far though? Just curious, not being a smart ass 🤣 (seriously though) 🤣
@@GoobiesFunZone same 🤣🤣🤣
Loved the video, especially the rain. I think it'd be so nice to sit in an open garage building a car listening to the rain outside over a field.
as a retired tech my advice is dont kneel on concrete without a foam pad. I used one most of the time but knees still gave out at 50 and they dont do new knees until your 65 and under 200 lbs. Cool project tho like the assemble and drive revive build
That seems like the type of rig Derek would have driven 60 miles home.
Easily.
And without the body or brakes.
Bring the thunder!
I'll be dipped"
this one seems already too much dapper, more like a going to town rig
This is by far one of the coolest episodes I’ve ever seen super bad ass to take on the challenge we appreciate it
You n Mook effing rock man. Sooo many hours of resto watched already. So lucky to have such beautiful classics to work on just wouldnt work here in England...And here we have a rusted out Vauxhall Cavalier 1.4 and I'm going to get stopped X amount of times trying to get this shed home...Wish my family had gone through with emigrating to Florida back in 03...keep up the amazing work.
This looks like what was left of Buford t justices car at the end of every Smokey and the bandit movie
Ram charger, cool!
"We also got a Bronco 2!"
OMFG YES!!!!
I want the B2 so bad
I love how the phone number got erased near the end off the side window.
😂😂this whole time I was jus thinkin so who’s gonna spam that number
I'll give u 800 For that Piece of junk Dodge charger truck
That is spectacular bud, I owned a Ramcharger a couple years back, made a few trips with the family, great memories and I miss it something fierce. Had to part with it. Bunch of hoo-ha, after dad passed we needed to cut some corners to not become homeless. Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for resparking some good memories for me.
this was a great episode!! What a rush to get this RAM in sooo many pieces and then put it back together AND RUN> WOW> thanks for having Mook help you out.
I love to see some 80s dodges saved. I’m a big fan of the 81-93 dodges. I have 3 of them myself. All of them are similar where there is no rust under the front half and the back is a tad crusty. But they’re good trucks and have never let me down.
“Good morning! and welcome back to bad decisions!” Best line I’ve heard today!
Haha self talk every morning
This might be your best and most amazing episode yet. Ill bet it left you exhausted but great job and great keep up the good work!
Great video. Makes me wish I still had my 86 Ramcharger (that I bought new). First new vehicle I ever had. Mine was two tone blue with the 360. Probably same carburetor. Always took at least two tries to get it to stay running in the morning. I think they went to TBI in 87 or 88.
I remember I saw a RC just like this one in 85 and thought I want one.
when he lifted the back of the chasis all i could hear was "time to do some scetchy sh#t doo dah doo dah"
czcams.com/video/Pp_27xCne3M/video.html
I heard that too!
Lol the rolls of electrical tape are sketchy AF its' a terrible idea. Yeah their super hard now, but what about after they've been in place for a while and all the adhesive starts to wear out from the heat and weight of the truck.
@@dylanrampage9360 Pretty sure that was a temporary solution to get it home and then do it right.
Ok I know we're friends and all but $1500 sounds CHEAP
It really does, in Maine it would sell for 3k EASY. Ramchargers are super dooper rare. Thats crazy good shape for a Northern ram charger, they rot hard.
Sounds like a great deal. You put at least that much in labor to put it together plus a video to go with it!
It does sound cheap but I think that's because lately people are super delusional in the prices they are asking for classics. And rusted out crap at that! This is what stuff used to cost, especially if it needed work done
I know its rare and all but in a state like that it should at least be 1000. Chassy not bolted on properly and cant even start right but its ur car at the end of the day so what can i say.
That's Iowa for you. Bought a 68 torino coupe for $300 and drove it home
this was awesome, great work man.thanks for all your efforts.keep it up.
Dude, total respect for that epic assembly haul.
Just to clarify, weather forecasters have changed the meaning of 40% "chance" at least 3 times in my lifetime. I'm now convinced that it means that their rain forecast will be 60% wrong!
@@BULLYDNB I know. Do you have a sense of humor?
Ar this point im pretty sure it just means 100% or 0%
In this episode, we learn why the good ol' boys down South say: "Hey, y'all! Watch this!" Then, when you were actually driving it on the road I was thinking, "Oh, yes... he's crazy." And then I realized: I used to do sketchy crap like this all the time! Party on, Garth!
It is just so beautiful, seeing that thing pull out of the shop. Just amazing, I’m so excited
Count me impressed, I have never seen a truck go from parts to runnung with just one person before, let alone in such a limited time.
Brilliant job getting it all back together , the look of relief on your face when the body was sat on the chassis after being balanced on that bit of wood was priceless . And to think it could have been scrapped. Top job Kevin👍
The correct expression is, "It's raining Datsun cogs".
And if your under a Datsun it's raining rust
@@wildman510 and if its a 240Z it's also very expensive rust

I'm pretty damn impressed with how you got that frame under the body.
I can’t believe what you did putting that together and getting it to run. Amazing.
Wish I had been following you when you did this. I would have bought it in a heartbeat. I love ramchargers. I've had several of them and they are getting hard to find.
I just got an 86 yesterday. Insanely hard to find parts for here in pa especially driveline parts
I’ve always wanted a Ramcharger. Can’t wait to see it.
I had a 89. Thing was a beast
My brother had one back in the 70's he was in the air force so it didn't have many miles on it even after 30 yrs.he finally traded it but I bet he would love to have It back right now. He just turned 70.
It had been shipped to Germany and the Azores island and Hawaii but always lived on base and had a scooter to ride back and forth to where he worked or walked .
He was crazy to let it go.it was like new when he traded it in.He washed and waxed that thing often and I was on that ramcharger that he taught me at like 12 yrs old how to wash wax and shine a vehicle up and I hace done the same to every vehicle I've ever owned. I even keep the engine and the underside of the hood and inside of the fenders .everything under the hood shined and does today on my land rover.
He taught me that if your paying that much money for a vehicle to make sure you keep it looking new and running great and always keep it serviced.
I'm 60 and I still do all that inside and out.
Something to be proud of for sure
I had an 83 Royal se that my grandfather gave me about 20 years ago. I wish I still had it today definitely cool trucks.
I would rather have the Plymouth trailduster
Guy down the street has one that hasn't run in years. If I had.noney I'd ask about it. First car I ever drove was a 70's Ram pickup
The moment he said "I learned something the other day" I knew he was going to talk about rain percentages. Me and so many of my coworkers have a been talking about that its been a hot topic lately
- Also, Chicken Bacon Ranch is the best subway sandwich. Load it up with jalapenos and you've got a winner
Sorta like a North Easterly wind is not the direction the wind is blowing but where it is coming from. So it more likely blowing to the South and West. That too is a topic of conversation. Then there is that pesky dew point.
weirdly I also learned that very recently and I live the other side of the Atlantic. Must be a common thing here too right now!
Ive been telling people this for the last 3 years since i moved to Oklahoma when i first got here i got a job doing flooring. And i was always told we dont work on rainy days mostly because the guy i worked for just like myself hated creating messes to clean especially when we are installing $50,000 worth of Egyptian hand made carpet White,Cream, and light grey outside is is RED Clay dirt. The night before this job we were told hey lets just finish this restaurant job tonight and we will push the carpet job a day or 2 its supposed to "RAIN" we started it at about 11 am mind you we had already done about 90% of the work at a prior date we finally finished at 1:37 am 14.5 hrs later. 7:30 am there's a knock at my door there's the boss just chilling at the door with some smoke and 🍩. Says come with me help me get that carpet to the house ill pay you today. No problem get there and all of a sudden he wants to start the job because the homeowners talked him into it oh it aint gonna rain i lived here over 60 years. They showed him how it said
💧2% i told him that just means that 2% of the area will get rain there is still 100% chance the rain will fall. He said nah we'll be alright i said yea you say that now until your outside cuttin carpet and starts meanwhile me and my cousin will be rushing carrying the the rest of it inside you just better hope the ankle biters arent outside when it starts because there's gonna be red dirt foot prints everywhere. Well guess what i called it to the T and the rats ran all over EVERY bit of carpet that was installed 4 different flights of stairs in 3 different areas of the house the living room 3 of the 5 bed rooms that we did 2 weren't done yet and 1 office the dining room and a common room. And guess who calles the flooring store complaining about their installer. And then the boss asked from that day forward what i thought about the weather before starting a job if he wasn't sure lmao i just said check the weather
YAAAAS! the rolls of tape trick... LOVE IT!!!
That was an insane find, I’d keep that thing forever and drive the hell out of it. That’s one of very few dodges I like just needs a little help 🤟🏻

Kev, when COVID is over, come to Australia and do the “Shitbox Rally” , yes it’s a real thing, thousands of Kms through the outback, in a car that can only cost you A$1000. How about doing an Aussie revival!
Here in the states we have the Gambler 500. Same idea 500 miles in a $500 car. I was hoping that’s what he bought the Bronco for.
Kevin and Mook doing a revival on a cheap Aussie car for the shitbox rally would make for a great video. I could definitely see them reviving an junk commodore, falcon something similar
