I just love Michael.
The aura around this song is sooo relaxing. It's like you are on the beach and vibing with the waves. And the harmonizing part with all the layers is chilling! Gives me goosebumps every time.
Very underrated song, one of
His best. The vocals omg are so gorgeous what a singer! There is a Acapella version of him singing
This on CZcams, just amazing ! This is song is one of my top 5 MJ songs
His vocals in this song are SO sensual and seductive. The background is a 16 part harmony he did with himself. I attended two of the In the Studio with MJ Seminars with Brad Sundberg and you get to hear all of the parts in isolation and hear how incredible his voice truly is. I asked how long it took him to record all of those parts, and apparently it took about 3 1/2 hours. But he did each chorus separately too I believe, which is even more incredible. God, his voice just sends shivers through me. The definition of LUSH!
This is the song that he was saying he was writing in the 1983 unauthorized interview
This man vocals are unmatched truly The Greatest Vocalist Of All Time! Not only cause he sung from his soul but his versatility he never sounded the same on every song and MJ is quoted during a interview back when he was a child saying “I Don’t Sing It If I Don’t Mean It” which is so true. “Liberian Girl” ~ showcases MJ’s abilities as a storyteller, the song focuses on setting a mood, relying on African beats and tribal drums to transport listeners to another continent. The song even opens with a Swahili chant (although the primary language of Liberia is English, and Swahili is not spoken in that part of Africa) that roughly translated means “I love you too, I want you too, my love.” It is an overwhelmingly positive message from a man who only wanted to bring a few more smiles into the world. And Liberia🇱🇷 woman are very beautiful dark skinned woman MJ always honored the true essence of beauty from cultures and left some things open for interpretation) You can absolutely tell when Michael Jackson is singing it’s not from a place of thinking so much on how he’s gonna sing it,it comes from a place of true divine & passion, love, devotion, soulfulness, and just pure joy and certainty he’s not coming from a place where he’s tryna be overly technical with his singing or forcefulness his singing is completely natural and he’s very in tune of his emotions you can feel that in your heart and soul whenever he sings. Speaking further upon on the record “Liberian Girl” this song was finished in 3-4 hours when it was created via John Barnes from Spike Lee’s “BAD 25 Documentary”, God Rest His Soul he passed away few years ago in 2022. John was Co-Producer,Arranger and Musician for MJ from 1983 - 1989, and from 2004 - 2007 he said that song just came and MJ wrote this song all the way during the Thriller Era he mentions it during his 1983 Unauthorized Interview, MJ said he wrote it while he was playing sum pinball via his Ebony Jet 1987 Interview lol what a slight flex for creating such a masterpiece of a song also the fact this song came out in the 80’s yet it was so innovative and sounds so fresh till this very day goes to show you how timeless MJ’s discography truly is. Long Live The Greatest Music Artist To Ever Live The King Of Music Forever!🙌🏽👑❤️💕🌟
OMG this is my favorite song ❤ so beautiful and the way he sings it so politely I love it ❤ so beautiful lyrics and his soft beautiful voice here just melted my heart ❤ so calming.
This is the song that seals it! Michael Jackson was a musical genius. Liberian Girl Written and composed by Michael Jackson.
The female part is South African singer Letta Mbulu speaking the Swahili phrase “Naku Penda pia, Naku Taka pia, Mpenziwe!” (I love you too, I want you too, my love!)
You should react to the official video too as it features many famous faces from the 80s…
Great reaction once again 🙏
Reaction michael jackson liberian girl acapella 🥺🙏❤
This is the song he was talking about writing in that interview with Latoya
One of my favourite MJ songs, and definite a highlight from the album. I think there are two main reasons it isn't more widely known: 1) the not-so-good music video (while it might be "clever", no one wants to see other celebrities when they can see MJ singing and dancing instead, especially when you compare this to his other music videos); 2) it wasn't sung live, which is an extra avenue of performance missing. I love how layered this song is, with him seeing over himself so many times. There's a recording extract somewhere that shows him seeing a line over and over again, slightly different, and then combining them all together. You don't appreciate how much has gone into it, but you DO feel it as you listen.
I love you angel Michael Jackson 👑🥺❤
Yay 💃🏽 💃🏽 Great reaction
My favorite MJ song! Great reaction to my favorite artist and the one I'm most inspired by as an artist!
This is a beautiful song, it was written and composed by Michael. Its a love song that celebrates attraction for a Liberian woman although it never mentions a specific name. This is actually one of the lesser-known tracks of this album (probably because its never been performed live).
Now you can watch the music video, if you had already watched it, it would have distracted you too much. Love your videos🔥
The girl at the beginning was Letta Mbulu, a South African singer, she said "Naku penda piya-naku taka piya-mpenziwe," which translates to "Love you too. I want you too, my love."
@@AlexSR__Ow damn, I never knew that but I heard it almost perfectly (look at the other comment )!
@@tim3970 yeeh i saw it
There you go Alex Request complete 😊

@@SephPlays Thank you so much Seph! Im gonna watch it tomorrow🔥
The BAD & Thriller Era is so magical to me yet so so powerful.. Please react to Michael Jackson - Captain EO short film from 1985❤
The video basically has almost every popular tv, film and music celeb at the time…
Enjoyed this song back then. 1986. Teenage guy. Very soulful RnB. Disco song for smooching with girl.
Please react to Michael Jackson you rock my world
I like it better when you watch the music videos!
I'm glad that you agree! You wouldnt believe the amount of people who dont :(
@@SephPlays MJ videos can be really overwhelming and distract you from the actual music and lyrics (especially with MJ that lyrics are hard to understand). The solution could be react to both back to back in the same video. BUT you are doing an amazing job already and wont like feel that this is more work for you. With love...
Nakupenda pia. Nakutaka pia. Mpenzi we is I love you too. I want you too. Your lover in Swahili
"librarian" aaah right🤣
🤣
Jackson begins this song with the phrase “Naku penda piya-naku taka piya-mpenziwe” said by a woman. These words are obviously not English. They are Swahili. In English, they mean “Love you too. I want you too, my love”. The woman who utters this phrase in the song is a South African jazz singer named Letta Mbulu.😊
Wow, thats good to know ❤❤❤
love your reactions, i watched all your Michael Jackson reacts, much love from Brazil
Wow you must really love MJ! Have you got a favourite song?
@@SephPlays i really dont know how to answer, but i think Human Nature is one of the greatest songs ever made, the instrumental, the voice, i really think is something from the heaven
Yes!!! I really love MJ, he became my inspiration, i can say i am a better person after know the real MJ, he inspires me to be a better person everyday
There are a woman sing with Michael seph its the Liberian girl reply to him in the song
I just so glad you reacted to this masterpiece one of favorite songs ever .. the reason why they say you will get distracted because the idea of the music video that it include alot of very famous celebrities in the video and Michael plays the director in it i think u can watch it after you heard the song .. the video shows how powerful was the impact of Michael to gather all those famous people only for his music video .. its a must watch ... I can't wait until you arrive in the station where Michael bring Marlon Brando in his music video 😅😂❤ and i must say pay attention to live performances from now on because in the next era (dangerous) you will have alot of fun watching Michael live .. you will thank me later 😉
Fire! ❤️🔥😊
Definitely 😊
the song is pronounced "LIE-BEH-REE-YAN GIRL" 🤣 it's an african country
The intro in the song is Swahili recited by a woman. It means I love you too, I want you too, my love ✅
Also, I think you missed this song was the song Michael mentioned he was recording in his 1983 unauthorized interview at his home.
But we now know it to be for the BAD album in 1987.
Oh my gaaaad I looooove this song❤❤❤❤❤❤
So glad you only did the lyrics version.😊
I would still watch the music video. Now that you’ve reacted to the song, please let there be distractions LOL.
For the longest time I thought he was saying "Liberian girl" About a girl he fell in love with at the library 😂
Omg same here i never noticed until he pointed out 😂😂
I'm going to say that i could hear it either way haha
You just crack me up, you are such a joy to watch, anytime!!
There is a music video which has a lot of celebrity cameos in it. It might be one of the most star-studded music videos.
There is also speed demon in the beginning fading out.
You should react to the video of this song now that you have actually listened to the lyric version so you understand why you’d get distracted
I think the voice you heard at the start of the song is a girl speaking a language (I assume) native to Liberia.
"I´m so blue" > Liberian Girl - hands down!
Two other lesser-known MJ songs you should check out (with lyric videos) are: Is It Scary, and Keep the Faith.
First comment hehe :3
Great video 👍👍
Oh yeah, so great reaction seph
The beginning was so funny for me 😂 actually Michael heard a comment like that after the release of the song and he laughed like crazy and said that the most funny reaction he ever get 😂
This song was the one Michael mentioned in that spontaneous interview of him . There are 2 stories of the song, one of them that it came to Michael when he was in the gaming room then ge put it on the tape fast , and the other one that once he went to vacation with diana ross to Liberia and it wrote the song about her there . I don't know which one is right though 🌹🌹
Now u can peacefully injoy and blow your mind with the music video🔥.
This is a cool story! Thank you! Really appreciate everything you do by the way ❤️ always look forward to your comments 😊
@@SephPlays u are absolutely welcome 🌹
I am totally convinced this, as well as well as several other songs on Bad, is about Diana Ross. He had supposedly proposed to her several times at this point and was expecting her to eventually say "I do." IMO "I just Can't Stop Loving You" is very clearly about her too and there is a specific line that makes me think so, however I won't get into that here since Seph hasn't listened to it yet. However, I really think it's obvious Liberian Girl is about someone specific because during the Ebony Jet interview you referenced (where he talks about the gameroom) he smiles in this way that feels like he is covering up the true story lol. At least that's how I perceive it!
@@thewild5719 i didn't know that IJCSLU was about her as well . After all he loved her so mush , he was shining around her .Remember to tell me that line when we reach that song , I'm curious 🫣
this song heavily reminds me of the weeknd. ik mj is his biggest inspiration but man the voices are too similar
Are you doing the Victory tour?
Can you react more of the jackson 5? Especially the ones on Ed sullivan show or diana rose
Yes please. J5 and the jacksons are AMAZING. Kid MJ voice is the best. Also, you gotta do his Pepsi commercial with his brothers And the kids in the streets. it is the best commercial ever
How can't you tell? Mikes voice is very distinct
Let me edit this since y'all don't understand. That is a woman's voice not mjs at the beginning. C'mon now think
So that beginning part is 100% MJ? Or are you just guessing?
@@jay-tc7weThe native voice talking is obviously the girl. Everything else is Michael.
@@tim3970Yessss:)
@@SephPlaysLiberia is an African country that was colonised by America (correct me if I'm wrong)
@@SephPlays that was not mjs voice
Please react to SHOUT by MJ it's an unreleased rap song.
Посмотрите - Dimash ''A Tribute to Michael Jackson''
Do not think that was MJ, it was I believe a female? Liberian girl , must be from Liberia.
It’s a woman singing, not Michael 🙂
I'm getting mixed signals here in the comments. Theres been another commenter saying it's actually MJ >.>
@@SephPlaysnah its Michael singing. The songs not a duet, there's only a woman who talks throughout the song thats about it
@@jay-tc7we so that voice at the start is MJ?
@@SephPlays the voice where it says : I do and, in the middle part section is MJ the opening is a girl I believe but yeah the rest is Mj lol singing and all that jazz
@@SephPlaysThe part where it is not translated is done by a girl. Sounds a bit like: "naku penda pia nakutaka pia, penziweh." All the rest is Michael
