  • Watton Airfield, used to be a busy place but has now started to make way for houses and farming.

Can't be that far from where that poor girl Johanna Young was found 25 years ago.
    So very sad.

I'm surprised Ryanair hasn't pitched up here and used it for London.

Wish there was some dialog pointing out where everything used to be.

Unfortunately, I only really remember the radar tower and the married quarters housing which was visible from the Norwich road.
Have found this: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RAF_Watton#/media/File:RAF_Watton_-_25_Jan_1944.jpg which shows the field
when I guess it was in its 'prime'.
No idea what all the buildings where but they have gone now, presumably for safety reasons or to make room for more housing?

@@jeffmoore4266 I grew up in thetford and ended up on Anson way, not far off the married quarters, I couldnt get out of there quick enough, its such a shame that all that history is lost due to unnecessary development of cheap build houses.
