Unfortunately, I only really remember the radar tower and the married quarters housing which was visible from the Norwich road. Have found this: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RAF_Watton#/media/File:RAF_Watton_-_25_Jan_1944.jpg which shows the field when I guess it was in its 'prime'. No idea what all the buildings where but they have gone now, presumably for safety reasons or to make room for more housing?
@@jeffmoore4266 I grew up in thetford and ended up on Anson way, not far off the married quarters, I couldnt get out of there quick enough, its such a shame that all that history is lost due to unnecessary development of cheap build houses.
Also worth a look: www.rafwatton.info/video-a-tour-of-raf-watton-in-1988/
Can't be that far from where that poor girl Johanna Young was found 25 years ago.
So very sad.
I'm surprised Ryanair hasn't pitched up here and used it for London.
London-Watton
Wish there was some dialog pointing out where everything used to be.
