  • What Car?'s New Cars Editor Will Nightingale has spent the last year running a Fiat Panda 1.2 Pop. He covered 8000 miles in that time, and has now said farewell to the little Fiat. Would he choose it again if he turned back the clock, or would he be tempted to look elsewhere? Read all Will's Panda updates: ow.ly/mzN6K

    The journalist forgot to say that Skoda CityGo and its sisters VW UP! and Seat have no central air-vents, strange they usually forget when it is time to judge a VW group car ...

    Just bought one with 125.00 on the clock. Doesn't make a sound on coble stone roads. Amazingly solid.

    • @pdcouto

      @@MsWearer sold it with 165.000. Needed a bigger car. Only relevant problem was the Bluetooth module. It was 2013.

    Actually, you do get air con on the Pop, the boot you can open with a button (in France and Italy, I don't know about britain), there is no fuel cap because only the fuel pump can open it up (it you try pushing it with your fingers, it won't work).
    The Panda is a great car !

    • @d2factotum
      @d2factotum Před 5 lety +3

      Neither are the case in the UK. I have a 2012 Pop which does not have aircon or any other way to open the boot without using the key. I do find it a bit odd that he's complaining about having to open the boot with the key when he'd have found that the Easy and Lounge models have a regular boot handle, though--smacks of poor research before buying.

  • @takyixuan
    @takyixuan Před 9 lety +15

    Currently Fiat is doing £2400.00 off on the Lounge! Just bought one also £150.00 cashback - a fantastic car for the money. So much more pratical than the Citygo/ VW Up/ Seat Mii. Park a Panda next to one of these and it's obvious the Panda is bigger, it's reasonably well built. At this price it's a much better proposition than the VW trio like for like on price and equipments.

  • @takyixuan
    @takyixuan Před 10 lety +5

    You can now get a Panda 1.2 pop for £7500.00! That's a bargain, you can also get the 1.2 Lounge for £9000.00 which includes alloys and aircon, works out cheaper than the equivalent VW Up or the Skoda Citigo.

  • @Aco747lyte
    @Aco747lyte Před 4 lety +10

    Oh isn't it a hard life having to open the boot with the key? Diddums. One of my family has this neat little Pop 1.2, loves it for around town, even a tootle into the country to walk her dog and altogether gets 60 mpg. Though the diesel will give at least 70mpg, the government is constantly upping the diesel price at the pumps, so she settled for the petrol version. Even I enjoyed a few trips in it and I've a sportscar. I loved the dashboard, so many handly storage places - what's not to to like? How I wish the reviewer didn't slag it off. He wasn't exactly a bright bulb himself.

    • @uranium5694
      @uranium5694 Před 4 lety +1

      It's ok to open the boot with the key but be careful not to forget the key inside the boot and then close the boot! And you are locked out of your car! Then find a way to go to your home other than your car to bring a spare key to open the boot or even worse if you are on a trip smash a window or break the lock to open your car!

  • @mattw8332
    @mattw8332 Před 9 lety +7

    The Panda does seem pricey as a brand new car. However, I'm sure that haggling a discount with the Fiat dealership is not out of the question. Suddenly makes it a more attractive rival against the Citigo, etc.

    Bomb proof cars 56,000 miles and not one problem & the petrol Flap locks so why would you need the cap to lock. Clearly getting a bung from the Vw group like most reviewers factor in the extra £1200 in service cost with the Vw over 5 years not to mention a much higher insurance premium as I did and it's a bargain. Best small car out there solid build quality.

    Those guy told a lot of rubbish. The Panda is a verry good car if you compared it to other cars. No car of it's class is able to load stuff with a length of 2m if you order the flex 5 seats package.
    So the Skoda isn't able to do this.
    And you didn't hear a lot of wind noise.
    It's quiet and verry good to drive. Comfortable Seats it has too.
    For me it's the best car in it's class.
    The Skoda isn't able to reach the power the Panda has.
    So in my opinion this guy didn't drive a good equiped one.
    If he had, he woun't tell so lot of rubbish.

    The Panda lost its attractiveness which was being cheap. For that money I would advice to get a fully loaded Dacia Sandero which is of course even a bigger car than the Panda. And it will probably be even cheaper than the Panda.
