I know as a father if my daughter did such a wonderfully built set of stairs for me I would be overwhelming proud! Wonderful job I know he's very happy and very proud!
Yeah I would be to she amazes me
I liked the staircase a lot and I liked the love she had for her dad even more.
Thank you! :)
You're always helping your parents out. I love it! They took care of you, now you're taking care of them.
Hi April, You are a class act! Lucky Cody! Excellent parenting job by Mum and Dad as well, and now they reap the benefits. I hope Dad's surgery goes well. I like your 'production values'. The video lengths are good and the audio is clear. Full of useful well delivered tips as well. I find your video's lift my ageing spirits! There, that's quite enough of that, or someone will be accusing me of over egging the omlette. Bob, Suffolk, UK.
Great build April. Made it look super easy, Just like a pro. great job
So nice to see you helping your parents around their house. They raised you to be a caring person! Kudos April!
I love seeing women do projects that you wouldn’t expect to see them do, as I was raised seeing woman being afraid and unknowledgeable of power tools, I teach my 13 year old daughter to be independent like miss April here .
So much respect for you April .
I’ve worked with men that have been in the trades for 20+ years and you put them to shame with you attention to detail and workwomanship .
Keep up the great work .
Much love from Unkul Beanz Monster Garden and Canada 🇨🇦 eh !!!
🤙
I was brought up helping my Dad in his workshop. Today I can do all my handyman projects at home. Next time you in a shopping store, go take a look at what all is for little girls in the play section. You will notice loads of toys for girls to play house, tea sets, kitchen sets even grocery purchasing etc lol, to cook, clean and beautify themselves, paint their nails, doing their hair etc and all to do with their looks. Woman are conditioned from when they are little to do all of this. However, go take a look at the boy's section, they have all the fun stuff and toys. Its pure conditioning and grooming. I don't agree with this! My brother could not even take out the trash. At 11 yrs old I painted my Mothers Kitchen, changed plugs etc etc
April: I have to tell you that I absolutely love your enthusiasm!!! You are such a good example for so many of us out here watching your show. Thank you for being so much fun to watch and learn from.
One hard working lil lady. Everyone around you is lucky to have you in their life.
Excellent job April.
And thank you bringing awareness to the need of making things easier for our parents as they get older and sometimes less mobile.
As my own parents got older, I made changes in their home to help them including installing an ADA compliant toilet, safety rails in the shower and motion sensor lights on the steps leading to the front door.
Awesome, as an older adult there is nothing that makes us feel better than when our children are there for us. After all, life is all about family. Thx for sharing. Bill
Now that's a satisfying woodworking project; one that makes a loved one's life much easier. Very cool.
I'm rebuilding the stairs on our back porch and the stringers are longer than what our local home improvement store normally carries. Both of your stair rebuild videos have really given me the knowledge and confidence I've needed to feel comfortable with rebuilding my stairs. Thank you for your great videos! You're such an inspiration!
Nice job April! It's a great way to show your love for your dad and mom!
Very very nice Job! Eres una artista saludos desde españa
Great job! Best of luck to your dad! He will be in my thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery.
This is a great DIY project for spring. Nice work, April!
So you've done a little staircase and a big staircase, next up: a steel staircase!
What a great thing you did for your Dad and as a Dad i can tell you a Daughter will never know the love he has for you..... GREAT JOB.....
Thanks so much!
I am loving 'April at large'. I never know where you are going to show up next and what you are going to do. I hope your Dad's knee surgery goes really well, and that he goes up and down those steps with ease and a great sense of pride in his dynamite daughter afterwards.
Love it!! Especially for your Dad. I bet it meant a lot to him. I am putting in a new relocated front step as well. So it was nice to see the process.
Aprils Shop Class I learn something every time I show up. Great Job April
Good luck to your dad and his surgery! My dad is 74 and had a left total knee replacement in November of 2016 and is doing fantastic! He didn't take to the pain medicine post surgery very well so they kept him another day or so but it was ok. Big thing is that he stays mobile all the time and does all his therapy and continues daily therapy on his own once he graduates from the physical therapist. My sister bought my dad a recumbent stationary bike for the basement and he uses it daily and it really helps. Especially on the days where he has some stiffness.
Great video and good luck to your dad!!! :-D
Bless you April for doing that for your dad!! You're awesome!!
I think you did a great job April and they look good. Beautiful steps for a beautiful country home!😀
Excellent job ... I really liked it ...April, you're very talented
Great to be able to help your dad in this way. You get the fun of the build and the knowledge you really helped someone out. Fantastic.
Nice job. So nice you did this for your Dad. Well done
Great job April👏 I am sure your dad is going to appreciate your hard work after his surgery! Speedy recovery to your dad!!!
Yay! Glad you're doing videos again! Keep them coming!
Beautiful job April!!!! I really like the width of the steps!!!
My wife and I lived with my in-laws while we were building our home. They benefited having me around to do several little upgrades to their place while I was waiting to get to work on our new home. As always enjoy your videos and tips on the little things that make a project much easier.
Hals Wood Shop. Yes he will appreciate your work. this fall I had one knee replaced and used the porch and the few steps outside and some fresh air when I could. What you did will help a lot. I had the other done after Thanksgiving and here in PA was indoors and would have loved the porch. Best wishes to him. Do the exercises daily and it will pay off. Back at work now for me.
Perfectly timed, June! I was just listening to Jay's idea about this - I think your second stair support is a much nicer solution than the steel plates. Brilliant work.
Great job, April! I'm sure your folks will appreciate it very much!
Enjoy all your videos. Your voice is easy to listen to and your instructions are always clear and precise !! It’s nice to see you taking care of your parents !! Thanks for sharing your knowledge !! 👏✌️👍

Great job April!! And that's very sweet of you!
I watched the whole thing smiling and the ending with your father approving your work was something very special.
Omg, the love you have for your father, brings tears to my eyes. AWESOME. 😂
Great tip on lining up the bottom and top rail for the stiles. Nice work, as usual April.
Been following you for a few weeks now. My dad was a handyman, but I never really took an interest until recently. You're giving me some awesome ideas.. and the courage to tackle projects that I normally wouldnt. I need to make videos like this for science.
Great job April for your Dad he will need something like that after his knee op, I know I have had the two of mine done plus a hip replacement. Arthritis really sucks but at least it can't kill you. Wish you and your family all the best xx
knocked it out super quick. You are pretty awesome.
Great Job! I picked up a tip using the multi stand. Thanks !!
Good luck to your dad. I just made a bridge and stair over a little creek at my good friends farm. No jumping required. He is facing a knee replacement next month.
Good to see you back on CZcams April!
Great project. Looks like dad is happy.
Looks like he loves them...April you ROCK!
Good luck to your dad for a speedy recovery! Nicely done!

This is exactly what I have to do. New home will be done in a few weeks. Thanks, really studying and learning as many tips as possible. I found some stair math sites to help but there is nothing like watching it being done.
April, great stuff. I always enjoy watching your videos. Thanks 👍

Those stairs looked awesome.
Looks like your Dad will enjoy the new steps! good job and good video April!
As a dad myself, I have to tell you - you have NO IDEA how PROUD of you he is! It's hard for us dad's to express that most of the time. You did very well, young lady. Thank you for your example unto other ladies of all ages!
Love your smile and god mood. Thank you for sharing your amazing video
I love seeing this. Helps rid of the old fashion stereotypes that women shouldn't or can't. Amazing, great work...keep it up:)
👍..and for this very reason I liked and subscribed today!
Nice , keep making stuff . You are doing very good work !
Really nice seeing you find creative ideas for new projects while you're in between shops. Great work!
Your an inspiration! You make it look easy.
Like day and night, between old and new steps! Good Job!
I love April's work and attitude. I'd like to see her measurements for each riser from tread top to tread top, just to shut down the rude comments I've read so far. Also, I'm surprised that I didn't see anything in the comments about the space between stiles (should not be able to allow a 4" diameter sphere to pass through.) Hard to tell from the video what that spacing is. Also required is a "graspable" handrail. A flat 2x4 might meet that, but a real handrail profile would be safer, especially for the elderly. Plus it'll give April a reason to use her router & get a new bit!
Amazing!. I really admire your Fearless can do attitude.
Circular Saw Queen. Nice work
The best, work, very good April!
Your dad must be so proud. My daughters only 2 now but if she did something like this for me when she's older I would never stop talking about it. Great gob!!!
I meant job sorry
Turned out great!
awesome job April
Beautiful job!!
Great work Amber!
Great video and well done ! Love all your videos ! WOW !
Way to go April , Another great job , I am always learning from you , Keep up the good work
